the way he immediately figured out that he needs to balance his stats so that he wasn’t all brawn and no brain or agility or recovery. i fucking love the way his brain works. balance was such a big theme throughout this whole story and the idea that he latches onto it even before he becomes The Famous Sung Jin-Woo is just. like that’s why he became like that in the first place. because he knew that it was necessary. and it’s the whole idea behind why other hunters were always falling short. they didn’t know how to balance themselves. fuck i love him.
i think one of my favourite things about sung jin-woo (and kudos to the author for this) is that he doesn’t follow the traditional underdog -> all powerful character pipeline. because he does what he needs to do and doesn’t pretend he’s not ruthless or that he’s morally high standing. the game says ‘kill humans’ and he doesn’t really hesitate at all. most manga/manwha heroes in this genre tend to be like ‘no wait i have to avoid killing humans at all cost. i don’t want to lose my humanity. no matter what they do humans are the most precious and should not be harmed by my hand’. meanwhile sung jin-woo is like ‘well it is survival of the fittest and you fuckers tried to kill me so now prepare to die’. and he even admits that although it’s the game that prompts him to kill them, it’s him who actually kills. he fully accepts it’s by his hand and his choice.
- but we can stand in solidarity with women, just as we can with trans men, other people of marginalized gender, and intersex people
- the "international" part of this day means understanding how global pressures fall unequally on women, especially in the global south, and how capitalism & colonialism employ concepts of womanhood to oppress people of all genders globally
