I took a drive out to Cooperstown today to have lunch with a friend. It was a very nice visit and I got to meet the Farmers’ Museum’s brand new three-day-old baby cow.

Monday, April 15, 2024 - Vacation Day 1

I’m so glad that the weather was gorgeous today. I got to spend the afternoon working on our garden rebuild. We built our garden way back in 2015 from pieces of the unusable above ground pool that came with our house. Nine years later, the wooden beds are falling apart. So, we ordered new metal beds to replace half of them this season. I think they’ll work well but there’s a lot of dirt to move. My husband has done the vast majority of the shoveling and I’m glad I was able to help out today.

I'm back at my museum today, feeling tired but energized and inspired. The MANY Conference was a great experience! I met and reconnected with so many great people, explored fascinating topics related to the theme of Giving Value to Voice, and ate a lot of very tasty food. My colleagues here at CCHS and I spent a large portion of the day chatting about our time at the conference (our entire staff attended) and strategizing about how we can implement some of the ideas we collected.

I did another interview with local news station WENY this morning about the 1925 Solar Eclipse exhibit. Then in the afternoon I went over to the Chamber of Commerce and picked up my 2024 Eclipse t-shirt. Of course I had to try it on right away. Our education director wanted a photo so I posed. When she shared it with me I noticed it was a live photo so I made it into a gif.
