Living in the human realm... - [Part One]

"The literature teacher, Philip Wittebane and his nephew, Hunter Wittebane" - Some random student from the school.

Philip Wittebane ended up in the human realm by accident along with his nephew, Hunter; With no way to return, Philip took his name back and began a new life in the city.

Philip became a literature teacher, specializing in various scientific areas; he's his nephew's doctor because he'll never risk them finding out the truth.

Philip has been aging due to the absence of magic that keeps him young and alive; he resigned himself to it when he noticed how his appearance changed over the years.

Living in the human realm forced Philip to hide information about magic from his nephew, using a magical jewel to disguise it; this didn't need much energy and kept it hidden his appearance.

Hunter is Luz's best friend, being that they are neighbors, they spent a lot of time playing together, and he was going to accompany Luz to summer camp, when they notice Owlbert and start chasing him.

Camila arrives to see how both children disappeared behind the door and asks Philip what's happening; somehow they manage to go to the Boiling Isles without the portal.

"So, you're the ruler of this place" - Camila Noceda.

Practically, the adventure of the Noceda family and the Wittebane family in the Boiling Isles...

Did anyone ever convince Philip/Belos to wear a dress/skirt at one point? Or does he try it at some point on his own without prompting?

Firstly: If anyone had the ability to convince Philip/Belos to wear a skirt/dress, it would have been Ophelia Wittebane.

Ophelia hates skirts and dresses, because according to her, all these things were impediments in a fight/chase and Ophelia hates it very much not having adequate reaction mobility.

Ophelia proceeds to complain to her uncle Belos, who sighs knowing full well that it was an excuse; if she didn't like wearing such clothes, she can tell him directly without having to make such excuses.

At such words, Ophelia gets angry exclaiming that doing such activities mentioned above is impossible.

Philip proceeds to accept a challenge, to prove to his niece that it is possible; Ophelia will accept, and both will go to do a series of activities.

Belos is able to perform the activities without much hassle, he can run fast, take on multiple opponents, and do a chase without losing speed.

The attire is not an impediment...

Emperor Belos has quite a bit of skill due to practice; that is why he's aware that such actions can be done as long as someone has gotten used to it.

The emperor's attire consists of several layers of heavy clothing, which makes movement difficult, but Belos has grown accustomed to fighting and running in such clothing.

His mobility with normal clothes is better and more skillful; and he's quite proud of it.

Secondly: If Philip had decided on his own to wear a dress/skirt, it would have been so that he could attend his brother's funeral.

After what happened between the two, Philip was not well received by his sister-in-law and her children.

Dressing like this was the best way to say goodbye to his brother for the last time...

After all, they were looking for an old-looking human, and not someone who looked like a witch; he was simply able to camouflage himself among the gathered crowd...

I have witnessed your answers to the flirting with Belos/Phillip, and I now have several questions. Firstly, have any of the main Coven Heads ever flirted with either Phillip the potion maker and/or Emperor Belos? Secondly, has there ever been a conspiracy theory that sweet Philip Whittbane and imposing Emperor Belos were dating? Finally, what is the Collector like in your au?

Firstly: If there was one of the Main Coven Heads, it would have been Terra Snapdragon and Vitimir; the first because of his appearance, the second because of his knowledge and his ability as a potionist.

The scout is in charge of telling Terra that she cannot say those things, since it is considered illegal; she proceeds to complain. (Philip is scared a long time later...)

Vitimir is very adamant about having Philip in the potions coven; Vitimir could spend hours praising Philip and his potions talent...

As for Belos, no one is brave enough to do such a folly; the Main Coven Heads admire their ruler and accord him proper respect.

In addition, the members of the emperor's coven are very overprotective of Emperor Belos.

They have a special branch dedicated to protecting the royal family, and they usually take turns taking the job of watching over the emperor and the young prince...

Secondly: That sounds like a kind of fanfic that some of the witches who are out there creating crazy theories would write.

They possibly get together to gossip every weekend in a coffee shop to talk about it...

Finally: The collector, mmm...

As mysterious as it had been, so it wasn't very considerate to show up; but with the later information obtained, I have a more precise base.

(The collector has been a friend of Philip since he was a child...)

The collector is the funny uncle who spends months traveling, only coming to visit to meet all the children belonging to the Wittebane family who have been in Philip's care.

(The collector is a free entity, he has had enough time to think over and not do the same as his canonical counterpart...)

He takes a great interest in the Wittebane children, especially the last child; Hunter looks a lot like Philip's brother, whom the collector did get to meet...

Philip is an adult and has become boring but the collector can have fun with his best friend's children; of course, after being told off several times that it was wrong to float a baby upside down.

The collector can undo Philip's partial curse, but he doesn't because it would mean losing his only longtime friend, nothing had lived long enough to keep him company.

Philip doesn't want to find out what will be the result of undoing such longevity...

The collector gives Philip information that he would rather not know; what kind of rumors were circulating among the witches?

I don't know why, but whenever I see Belos drawn in your style, my mind goes "baby man" and "precious". Has anyone in your au ever seen their emperor with his mask and not in the know ever tried to flirt with him?

First: Thank you for considering this Belos as something precious - 🥰 / Second: Wow! - 👀

I had never really thought about the issue of flirting, because this Belos was thought to be an entity that hardly interacts with others.

Between his multiple jobs, his research and taking care of his family, adding that he prefers to stay locked up in the Wittebane Manor; all of this makes Belos someone with limited social interaction and difficult access to any conversation.

I hadn't really thought much about it, but you've given me a wonderful idea! - 🤩

Philip does interact with others due to his work as a potion maker and seller, but it's very limited; many have seen Philip over the years, and also know what you, dear anon, are aware of...

"He's precious..." - Common knowledge in the Boiling Isles.

So imagine all the misunderstandings that may exist under those flirting attempts...

There are many others who have tried it, but the result would be the same.

And no, none of them would be able to say that they have tried to flirt with the emperor.

Between Philip's meek and calm appearance next to Belos' imposing authority figure, how could any of them be aware?

The others remain unaware that their failed flirtation attempts were directed at their ruler, whom they have ended up scaring to death.

Emperor Belos wouldn't forget and if he were to see them while wearing his royal attire, he would just stare in fear at these potential threats...

Hello, this is the Anon that sent you the ask on Belos ending it. What I originally meant was Belos attempting to...off himself while he's an emotional wreck after what happened in your Hollow Mind, thinking it's the only way to stop the entity, and generally not thinking straight. So my question is...Does he attempt at some point? What/who keeps him from passing on?

Yes, he's tried, but it's not much use.

The curse that Philip possesses has two parts...

The first part mentions that Philip will be condemned to live a long life, so that his eternal existence will be a torture in itself, seeing those he loves and cherishes, die before his eyes...

The second part is the worst part, the entity did it with contempt for Philip and with the intention that he would always be miserable.

The entity had smiled before sentencing: "And you will be the consequence of their deaths..."

Philip had attacked his brother, horrified at his own uncontrollable actions, laughter ringing in his ears and a knife in his trembling hands.

He had tried to end it all, despising his very existence; he can perfectly swim in the boiling sea without taking any damage, and he detests it.

The only way the curse won't work is if he stopped caring about everything, loved no one, actively despised everything and those around him.

It worked for quite a while, but to his dismay, Hunter came into his life...

Hunter was an identical copy of Philip's brother, he was the sole remnant of the Wittebane family; Philip knew that he was doomed as there was no way to avoid loving the child.

For years, everything remained calm, until the entity, mockingly, took his place, under the promise that it would't hurt the child, but the entity lied…

As for who prevents him from dying, well, the entity keeps the curse activated.

Philip has never stopped trying to kill himself; he held Luz's hand, knowing it was a trap, realizing it was a trap, but he didn't really care anymore.

Luz really thinks that particular glove with that specific function was there just like that?

Philip couldn't fool the entity on his own, so he put all the tools at Luz's disposal for her to do so; he laughed like a deranged madman, as the entity weakened and he regained control of himself.

Without magic, there is no entity, without entity there is no curse, and without a curse to keep him alive, Philip will end up dead.

Not that Philip really cares about this...

Finally a question after so long! (This blog was supposed to be for that purpose, but things have now changed...)

In meaning to end it, I didn't quite understand what you mean; I'm very sorry for my ignorance...

If you mean attempt to end it to the impostor; no, Philip even if he will try, he's unable to do anything to get rid of the impostor.

Although this poses a good idea.

I had an idea to write a short story for the group of stories belonging to The Owl House: Divergence in Ao3; I'll give you a free advance.

The children know that Belos is evil, everything continues to happen as in the canon, until Luz offers her hand to the emperor to close the aforementioned deal.

Luz tricks Belos, but instead of getting angry, Philip is going to smile at Luz, with absolute sadness, but also full of gratitude; the entity will scream angrily, because it is a magic entity, and the spell is practically killing it.

The drawback comes from the fact that the same curse has kept Philip alive all these years; It will also end up killing him.

One option for that is for him to simply die.

Another is for him to die and turn to Mother Gothel-like dust.

One last option is simply to have that longevity disappear along with the entity.

And now, Philip without magic to maintain that state, he will begin to age like the rest of mortal beings.

Although possibly, Philip ages faster and the remaining years of his life are even shorter; but at least, in his last moments, he will have that freedom...

I also have a small story based on Hollow Mind: Side A, it's 'The Impostor…', it's not much different from the original, but you might want to take a look at it.

Hollow Mind - Alternate Version: Side A... - [The impostor...]

Some of us are destroyed, others in denial, others celebrating being right and I, trying to justify his actions...

*Sigh*, even if it's not canon, don't you think it's a beautiful possibility?

After Hunter and Luz disappeared, Belos smiled to himself, having achieved one of his goals.

"Well, those kids were pretty easy to fool, don't you think?"

From the ground emerged the real Philip Wittebane, trapped so that he couldn't intervene in the argument between him, Hunter, and Luz.

"Oh yes, of course they're going to believe you...", he replies with his voice full of sarcasm and bitterness.

This impostor takes on the appearance of a child, to go on to laugh in a horrible and evil way; this upsets Philip a lot, because this entity has the audacity to impersonate him.

"I'm an innocent and sweet child, I'm going to help you in everything you need..."

He was laughing at the naivety of Luz and Hunter, who have believed his lie.

This disturbs Philip, for with his ability to imitate his appearance.

"They aren't going to believe in the possibility that there is something good in you, I'm a bad person after all..."

"Am I not, Philip Wittebane?"

The boy looking back at him was terrifying, it was seeing himself refer in the third person, saying those things as if it were an absolute truth.

Recovering a older aspect, this entity explains to Philip what he has talked about with the children, and how he has ended up frightening them.

What angers Philip the most are the words said by the entity to Hunter.

"You're a miserable bastard, how could you say that to my nephew?!"

"No, how could you tell him that?"

This entity abruptly releases Philip's face, who is horrified with the information that has been delivered to him; well, even if he didn't want to, Hunter has kept that idea in his head.

"You're no longer of use to me, I will let you go..."

Philip falls to the ground as the magic holding him wears off, the impostor turns his back on him and walks away with a smile.

"After all, there's nothing you can do now..."

Philip just screams in pain, crying, because he knew it was true, there was no chance that they would believe him.

Meanwhile, the dark environment that had been surrounding them regained a brighter appearance.

This is a fusion of Hollow Mind with the original idea of Inside the mind...

Hunter would meet the impostor who would then be attacked by an adult Philip, preventing him from touching the boy.

But here, Philip wasn't given a chance to intervene...

The hereditary ability... - [Mass Posting - Part 40]

You have a baby, with the magical ability to teleport anywhere it wants...

And it's his fault that the boy is jumping all over the Boiling Isles, because he imitates what he saw of his uncle...

Digital drawing: Special for the end of the almost three weeks of the Mass Posting...

From one moment to another, he had his nephew in his arms and suddenly, he disappeared, turning around, the boy had appeared on top of a high shelf.

Philip panics seeing the baby in such a high place, Hunter is happier to find a stuffed animal in the place where it appeared.

"How did you get up there!?" - Philip in a panic, clearly terrified of what is happening.

This ended up being a mistake, because it has caught the attention of the boy, who decides to jump to be caught, causing Philip himself to appear nearby and manage to catch him.

In the human realm... (3) - [Mass Posting - Part 39]

A.k.a. The supremacy of glasses...

Lilith, Raine, and Philip, being people with a need to wear glasses, have formed a club among themselves, claiming to be cool.

Philip apologized to Lilith for breaking his promise, while Raine assisted him and Hunter in regards to retrieving the information from the portal and learning a truth hidden for years.

Later, having reunited with Camila in the human realm, the three end up joining her in their club.

Camila doesn't know what's going on, but she's glad to have information about her daughter, and waves a little nervously to the camera, the three strangers excited just because she's wearing glasses.

"Long live the glasses!!!" - The holy glasses club.

Hunter, Vee, Steve and Kikimora resign themselves to the strangeness of those three.

"So, this is normal?" - Vee Noceda.

"No, but it's becoming the new normal these last few days..." - Hunter Wittebane.

Luz is losing her mind with everything she sees on the penstagram, Eda too...

The hardest part is the goodbyes, and that one, where Hunter realizes that he will never see his uncle again, is the most devastating...

"I know I have no right to ask you, but take care of him..."

"No, please, no! There must be some way!"

"There isn't..."

Philip threw Hunter away and Luz held him, preventing him from escaping, the exit spell activated, and they both disappeared from there.

"We'll buy you more time..."

There was a chance that the entity would end up gaining control and going to attack them in reality, thus buying it enough time for them to escape.

All this time trying to guess if Philip was the younger or older brother; and all this time, he and his brother were twins...

Can you imagine it?

They love to explore around, and fool people as to who each other is, their appearance is similar enough to fool others.

Philip and his brother got in trouble for this, and were forced to look different.

Over time, they stuck with that look, but they loved pretending to be each other.

They were a mirror of each other...

Additional: The author is nervous about the new chapter and the new spoiler has given me more anxiety...
