To any fic writers who worry they are wasting their time... I read a fic for a relatively small and inactive fandom about three years ago. And there was one specific scene where a character watched another dancing like an idiot to a beyonce song and it was so sweet and loving that even now years later I have that song on one of my spotify playlist so every once in a while it will play and remind me of that fic, and every time it does I smile and feel a little happier.

The stats on a fic will never really tell you if your writing touched someone. There's no numerical way to show you what impact you made. Maybe you are wasting time, or maybe you are writing something that someone will remember for a long time, something that will never fail to make them smile.

Crisp autumn air awakens your senses better than any cup of coffee, and when you hop into his passenger seat you’re met with the sight of one very pleased Donghyuck. Adventure dances in his eyes as he idly taps his foot on the gas to rev the engine, a lopsided grin playing at his lips. 

He leans across the center console to deliver a well-placed good morning peck, and without a moment to waste, he shifts the gear and whisks you away. With the windows rolled down, his hair flutters in the wind as he tells you of your plans for the day.

Jenuyu is definitely my favorite ff writer I’ve come across. They capture something in Jeno and Jaemin that feels so authentic to their real personalities, even as they’re being super well-written characters. This is a sweet fic to start with, but the “heart attack” series (18+) also lives rent free.

I’m pretty sure a lot of nctzens on here are familiar with the author’s incredible work, but that’s because they deserve the fame. This particular one always gets me fuzzy and warm.

• Anterograde Tomorrow by changdictator on ao3 (Kai+Kyungsoo of EXO) (18+)

I’m not that much of an EXO-L, but you don’t need to be to get your soul ripped out of you by this fic. Some of the best writing of any fanfic I’ve ever come across.
