Hey y’all! Long time no see. I would say it’s because I have no time because of training and grad school. But that’s no excuse 😤 I wouldn’t be where I am without this lovely community, and I should be here more to cheer y’all on just like y’all have done for me.
I had another race!! Raced a 15k and got second place in my age group! Averaged a 7:45 mile! Couldn’t have done it without my teammates pacing and encouraging me along the way.

Been a while y’all, been too long. Happy New Years to you all.
I started the year off with a race! Ran the mile. Pretty happy with my time, and ready to get faster! The gifs show my second race that day, the Blue Jean Mile 😅 Honestly wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I pretty much ran the same times for both.
Here’s to a year of racing!!

Yesterday I hopped on the bike after work for about 20 minutes. I asked my coworker how long an active recovery session should be. His words were “think of it as a self love session.” So as soon as I wanted to be done I stopped.
This morning was speed work. Since intervals were last week I did a Fartlek run this week. Definitely happy with it. I think it’s my favorite type of speed work. And like a mad man I hit a leg session afterwards.

Happy Sunday Runday
Did some intervals on Friday and an easy effort run on Saturday. Today was a long run. Felt good and it was my first time using these UCAN gels I bought. I used two this run. Felt pretty good, saw some parts of the trail I haven’t been before.
Got all my runs logged in NRC for November and I succeeded of running more than October. Maybe triple digits in December?? Let’s see. I hope everyone is having a good Sunday

Double post. Had therapy again last night. It was not as good as the first time I guess? I mean, it’s always nice to have someone to talk to but I felt like it was productive? I feel rude saying that. I just didn’t think we talked about the things I was looking forward to talking to but I should speak up. At least I know what to look for in a therapist when the free sessions with my current one is up. I’m just looking for more guidance and tools.

Running Dump
Did some intervals on Tuesday. Decided to do a workout that had short intervals. I hit the gym after that. Wednesday was fine, had a walk.
Been super sore but surprised myself today. Had my easy effort run, was sore the whole time but got it done. Was feeling good afterwards and decided to run with this local group I’ve been stalking on Facebook for a little bit. It was really fun running with other people. I told myself I would take it easy but once I started going I just wanted to chase the person in front of me. PRd on my 5k tonight 😅 Just makes me wonder what I’m capable of since I ran twice today, was sore the whole time both times, and still managed to put in good effort. Feeling fine now too. Looking forward to running with them again. Didn’t really talk to anyone tonight, naturally there are cliques.

Hey y’all! Happy Turkey Trot day! Also I ran my first race ever. First time signing up for one post high school, first time racing a 10k!
It was a great experience, being around people all doing the same thing, whether they wanted to or not lol. If I’m being honest with myself I wish I went harder to go sub 1-hour but there will be plenty of more races in my future. Course was pretty, but at some points it was pretty tight. I mean I was fine because I wasn’t going for a specific place, but IF I did want to past people during those times I’d basically be pushing them out of the way, which wasn’t the vibe.
Also I was hoping to meet some runners but I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen. Everyone came with their family, stayed with them, and left. Which isn’t surprising given the holiday. Just felt a little lonely being the only one without someone else there.
Race done, can’t wait for the next one

Don’t mind the crazy selfies. They went to discord and that’s just the face I make when I’m not trying to look good 😅
Today I commuted to work by running. Perks of having a job that has showers. It was better than I was expecting. The only downside was carrying all my crap. In my book bag was my work uniform, work shoes, shower supplies, an outfit to run home in, and my water bottle. But again it wasn’t as unbearable as I was expecting. Will definitely do again. Maybe with some more planning to leave some stuff there the day before. Used the amenities for the first time (cold plunge, sauna, steam room). Cold plunge was cold AF but I wanna try to use them all more. Who knows how long I’ll still have them.
I’m still in my head about my actions. I wish I told my therapist to meet once a week because my next session is too far 😅 All that being said though, today was not bad…even though I hate to admit that…I don’t think I deserve good days yet. Stupid thought, but that’s how I feel.

I don’t know how to explain this. Life has been throwing me straight HAYMAKERS it’s ridiculous.
Yesterday, my advisor, told me he cannot accept me as a new Masters, non-thesis, student. Even though I planned on becoming more in debt for the program and pay for it myself, he doesn’t have space or time to commit to me. But Im not asking for that….I’m just asking that you say you’re my advisor so I can get into the program and start taking classes I’m not asking for you to commit any time to me actually. But the final verdict remained the same.
This one especially hurt but that’s the ENTIRE reason I moved to Florida. I have been interning in his lab for four months with every free moment I had since I also got a part-time job to…idk….SUPPORT MYSELF??? By his words he hasn’t seen enough of me to commit me.
An advisor, who says his main method of mentoring is a hands off approach, says he doesn’t have time to advise me. BS. I told him straight up, “sucks not being wanted.” He said “I’m not saying that.” No sir….that is EXACTLY what you are saying.
He reached out to someone else on my behalf to see if they’ll take me. I appreciate that I guess but it’s the least he could’ve done IMO. I meet with that professor after Thanksgiving. Hopes are at an all time-low. I’m just ready to get out of this swamp, it has brought me nothing good so far.
I guess I’m forever grateful for this running weather and my skate group. BUT WHAT THE FUCK WORLD!!!????

I had my first therapy session tonight. Didn’t know what to expect but it was nice talking to someone. Next one is two weeks from today. Will try to work on some things they suggested.
Had an angry run after work today. I just really dislike my colleagues at the moment, don’t think that will ever change 😡 Felt good to run fast, but also shouldn’t make it a habit 😅 Gotta save the speed for speed days.

My biggest regret in life is not staying in New Mexico with you.
I was selfish to say, “wait for me,” while I pursue this program I’m not even liking.
New Mexico was so good with you, and I should’ve realized that this opportunity could never compare to a life with you. None of this would’ve happened if I stayed in your presence.
I wanted to text you this, but I know I’m not suppose to. I hope you see this, but I know that’s silly. Id love to think you’re lurking on my socials just as much as I am with yours, but I know that’s just not the case.
