As the two siblings cried in their reunion, Lottie and Tucker looked at them with smiles. Lottie turns to Tucker to speak to him, but notices his bloody nose

She shakes her head as she excused herself from the marshtomp and walks to Velvet, getting down on her level

Lottie: I know we’ve only known each other a short time but..

[Lottie: The Velvet I know wouldn’t just give up!!

Velvet: ..!]

Lottie: It’s true I don’t know much about you, but I know that you went to the lengths to defy the biggest guild in town to search for your mother! I know you care about your brother deeply! And I know you bounced on top of a cop to help out a complete stranger!! You even asked a group of pirates to help you out!! You are powerful and amazing and I only wish I had met you sooner to get to know you more!

Velvet can only stare up at the hybrid as she’s at a loss for words. She can’t believe she let herself go to such a dark place so soon. She still had every intention to find her mother and she’ll do it with Croissant, and now, with Lottie, by her side

She gets up and hugs Lottie tightly, words struggling to come out of her mouth, but she manages to say:

she only fights to protect me or the town, b-but when she’s not doing that she teaches me a bunch of stuff, like how to fight with a sword and how to write my name. sh-she also makes toys for me to play with when she has to work. her work is usually fighting, but she also helps the other townspeople if they need it. my mama is really nice!
