I personally find it hard to feel threatened when someone says to me, “Be there or be in deep doo-doo,” but maybe that’s just me.

The funniest thing about both Mrs Barnabys being involved in every single local club or event, whichever is relevant to the plot this week, is that there's literally no narrative need for it?? Like amateur sleuth shows/private detective shows will often have a character who's involved in everything/suddenly has a deep personal passion for something, but that's aways so that the detective has an excuse to be there and be involved! Both Sarah and Joyce are married to the only DCI in the county! They'd be involved anyway!

I remember once getting quite drunk as I watched Midsomer Murders and coming up with an elaborate theory about how Fleur Perkins is actually the literal angel of death.
I stand by my whimsical theory.

watching any british show is spending most of the time trying to figure out which episode of midsomer murders that actor was in.
like, for example; watching an episode of wycliffe with my mum and she turns to me, points at the screen and goes “that actress was in midsomer. you know, the one who got her head chopped off after hitting on tom.”
