i hate how they market alexa as a ‘member of the family’ like that’s SO fucking blatantly insidious and terrifying also if i wanted an untrustworthy/cold/emotionless machine in my life i’d just talk to my fuckin father 

#my father was gifted an alexa #we only use it for the weather and things like how old/tall/etc is (insert random celebrity) #and it was all fine and dandy #until recently it started umpromptedly giving us the weather at 6:30 pm every night #when asked if it had a prompt to do that it said no #it won’t stop doing it #i hate it #my father however is not bothered by this #i was ready to throw it into the street after the third day it did this
