Tommy’s last lore streams make for 3 very interesting headcannons (of the tntduo kind of course)
RIGHT before I get into it, only two are tntduo related, the third is just a sad closure thing that i thought about.
Okay NOW let’s get into it:
1. It’s a complete server memory wipe, and Wilbur is the only one who remembers ANYTHING
Wilbur decides to come back, fairly recently after the nuke’s detonation, and finds that everything and everyone he has ever known are GONE. His L’Manburg (L’Mancrater), Las Nevadas, Paradise, everything is GONE.
It’s barren and empty and NEW. It’s a fresh slate just like he wanted, a start over, so why does it hurt so much to see everything he did, no matter how bad, just suddenly gone? His mistakes are wiped, the painful memories are wiped, but it feels wrong.
And then when he sees his younger brother figure casually hanging out with the guy who made him want to build that Tower.
And then Tommy doesn’t remember him.
Why doesn’t Tommy remember him?
He asks around, he looks around for answers, but there’s nothing to find. Nothing to hang onto.
He sees Quackity, who doesn’t remember him, at all.
And that might be a good thing, he thinks.
He doesn’t remember what he did to him, to his country, to their relationship. He doesn’t remember the explosions, he doesn’t remember where he got those scars from, he doesn’t remember their rivalry, their arguments.
He can start over with Quackity. He can be better to him this time.
And he thinks it’s better, that he doesn’t have to apologize for the things he did. For the shit he caused.
But it still feels wrong to pretend.
He does anyway. It’s what he did best.
2. Tommy, Dream, and Tubbo aren’t in limbo
They’re dead.
They don’t know it yet, but they’re dead, but not in limbo. They finished their missions, finished their causes.
They finally understood eachother.
And now they’re standing there, strangers with no memory of any of it.
They can finally start over.
They don’t know that, though.
3. The nukes wiped everything, but things still remain
Quackity feels wrong on how clean all of this feels.
A new world, new friends, new people. There’s so much to explore, there’s so much to see and do!
So why does he feel like he is missing something.
Why does he, when he walks over the soil, feel like he should be falling into a deep deep pit. Why does THAT particular spot tremble like it’s about to explode. Why does he see a desert and feel both dread and nostalgia and so much love and purpose over something that should BE there, but there’s nothing he can pinpoint.
Why does he see a color-block hoodie and feel sick. Why does he see a white bandana and feel hateful. Why does he feel fear when he sees lime green.
And WHY, pray tell, does this man with a white streak, round glasses and scars and stitches all over his face, a man that RECOGNIZES him, feels so fucking familiar?
He feels like he remembers explosions. He feels like he should be in a trench right now. He feels the scar over his face, how did I get that?, bother him more than it did. He feels like he should be in that desert he saw earlier.
He feels like punching this man, Wilbur, in the face.
Wilbur.
Wilbur is talking about things that supposedly happened, and Quackity can’t help but just stare at him, memories blank of ANY of this-
You’re sitting next to this man, legs hanging over a wooden plank in a cavern surrounded by torches. You feel dread.
You’re in the middle of ash, explosions deafened as you scream for him, reach for him before he is taken from you by a diamond sword and an Angel.
You’re on the edge of the desert, nay, your COUNTRY. The man stands before you with a smile. You can’t help but smile back.
Oh.
Wilbur.
Wilbur.
Now Quackity knows why he wants to punch him in the face.
He hugs him instead.
