How to write a cover letter

Keep your cover letter brief, while making sure it emphasises your suitability for the job. It can be broken down into the following sections:

First paragraph - The opening statement should set out why you're writing the letter. Begin by stating the position you're applying for, where you saw it advertised and when you are available to start.

Second paragraph - Cover why you're suitable for the job, what attracted you to this type of work, why you're interested in working for the company and what you can offer the organisation.

Third paragraph - Highlight relevant experience and demonstrate how your skills match the specific requirements of the job description. Summarise any additional strengths and explain how these could benefit the company.

Last paragraph - Use the closing paragraph to round up your letter. Reiterate your interest in the role and indicate your desire for a personal interview. Now is the time to mention any unavailable dates. Finish by thanking the employer and say how you are looking forward to receiving a response.

Once finished read through the document and cut out any unnecessary words and sentences. Don't fill up space by repeating what's already covered in your CV.

Found this about how to write cover letters, however since I am not yet applying to any specific job I would not be doing one that is similar. Mine will be more like a bio that the reasons to be applying to the job.

Shop

I looked into opening an Etsy shop a while ago and find out the advantages and disadvantages. Obviously, Etsy takes a commission and fees, but the advantage is in being part of a buying and selling community inside a website that it is already known to be reliable and trustworthy. It will allow me to publish personal and different work while simultaneously providing me with a small income.

Career and Further Studies

I have been part o an Art an Design Festival, an annual arts festival that encourages creation in the specific cultural and geographic context of the Azores. I started as a volunteer and in the past two editions been producing the festival alongside other team members. It is a unique experience that it is really rewarding and that is something that I am really opening to carry on doing. I am deeply interested in participating in the Norwich and Norfolk Festival the next year. I never participated before because felt that I was going to be too much going on in May. I will also be looking for similar opportunities, especially if they are related to art, design and film.

A user persona is a fictional representation of a business's ideal customer; they are generally based on user research and incorporate the needs, goals, and observed behaviour patterns of your target audience

Logo

I want my logo to be quite minimal and since I don't have any particular name for my practice, I will be using my name. I have created my logo in the past but I am not very happy with it anymore. Meanwhile, I am also considering opening an Esty shop with my partner so we can try to sell anything that can be interesting to produce in the future. This would be for some project that a bit more part of the physical world. This is my inspiration for the logo and bc (business card).

Volunteer

As I said before I have applied to be a volunteer at the Norwich film festival, however not having been accepted for the 2018 edition, I was invited to be a film reviewer.
