This may sound controversial and super biased 🙈 For someone who's shit at writing multi-chap fanfics and can only feel good doing oneshots in smaller fandoms, I have this observation that readers prefer fics that are shorter? Idk. The kudos/hits ratio is pretty shaky and unreliable but I can't help but feel that way. When I'm reading fanfics I do check the ratio because I want to know what to expect. But as long as the premise interests me (or that I love the author) it doesn't matter if the fic is popular.
