Basically a rewrite of the retreat scene. from @bobby-lynnes-bra: i always thought it would be funny if beca responded to the experimentation comment with “chloe what are you talking about, you’ve slept with multiple women in college already”

It’s not Chloe’s brightest idea but it’s…convenient that she and Beca are quite literally being forced to speak to each other in this cramped, confined space. And besides, Chloe is surrounded by the people she loves most (and the woman she’s most in love with) in the world. What could go wrong?

After Beca’s hasty refusal of Chloe’s generous backrub, Chloe changes tactics. She can hear Aubrey’s voice in her head already, calling her desperate, but she kind of is. She feels, simultaneously, that Beca is drifting away in more ways than one and with the end of the semester looming in a mildly horrific proximity, Chloe has run out of options.

She will make sure Beca knows, at least at a very base level, that Chloe wants to kiss her so very badly. She hasn’t thought of much else past this.

“You know Beca, we’re very close, but I think that this retreat is really gonna let us discover everything about each other.” 

“Is that right?”

“You know…one of my biggest regrets is that I didn’t do enough experimenting in college.”

Beca’s nose crinkles. “You’re so weird. What are you talking about? What about all those girls you slept with in my sophomore year? And that one hookup that kept coming back last year.” 

The air whooshes out of Chloe’s lungs at that revelation. “Wait, you know about all that?”

Summary: Five times Chloe celebrates her birthday with Beca, one time she doesn’t. Rated M/E.

Chloe is certain if she had told her freshman self that she would be celebrating her twenty-second with a bunch of eighteen-year-olds and nineteen-year-olds, she would have probably laughed. Though not unkindly - it would just have been entirely unexpected.

When Chloe started at Barden University, she had been more excited to leave. It was a pathway to get out of her parents’ house and a sure ticket to independence.

She hadn’t counted on liking it so much.

She hadn’t counted on Aubrey. The Bellas. Hell, she hadn’t counted on Alice, even.

Her line of sight gravitates towards her.

She hadn’t counted on Beca Mitchell.

With fondness, Chloe watches Beca toss back a drink, laughing in a carefree manner that sends warmth through Chloe’s body. She doesn’t bother tamping it down because she’s out of here and maybe this stupid crush on Beca will finally leave her alone once and for all. She tried initially to chalk up her attraction to Beca as merely seeing too much of herself in Beca; she and Beca are more alike than Beca would care to admit, like ever, and Chloe had been driven to near insanity by her deep want to show Beca her full potential as a Bella.

And as the story goes, it turned out to be largely pure want for Beca, manifesting in a big crush, but Chloe had figured that out too late. Just a smidge.

summary:

It was a semi-shocking sight when Beca first noticed her about twenty minutes ago. She was objectively hot, of course, being all long legs, blue eyes, and soft-looking red hair, but the first impression Beca had when she met her around a week ago was that she was the ultimate innocent girl-next-door type. The redhead had been smiley, sweet, and wearing a dress that looked like it came straight out of a J. Crew catalog. 

Clearly, in the darkened lights of a frat house basement, that changed a little. 

Beca didn’t mind at all.
