It is not surprising you find this logic strange because you live in the 21th century on earth and you haven't been raised on such culture.

People in history (and people today from a different cultures) live their life by things we might find unbelievable, crazy, illogical.

Customs and traditions are a tricky topic. Sometimes it is just the way things are like the skies are blue. Innate beliefs you don't even know you can question. It takes a lot for a sociological shift to happen.

Nearly everybody on asoiaf is morally complex because they don't act according to 21th century morals. But by their own world's moral compass. (Some are horrible even according to that )

Example: Ned Stark is not evil for executing a criminal. Nonetheless, punishment by death is found abhorrent by many people in the real world. Yet he is still regarded as an honorable man by fans. Cause people understand that was normal for his era. (Unfortunately not every character is treated with the same consideration.)

That is what's interesting about this universe. Unfamiliar territory with strange concepts.

Try to understand the culture asoiaf characters operate in. There is a huge world building in that books. The books would be more enjoyable to read.

On a side note. Do you know who might disagree with your thoughts? Immanuel Kant. He is one of the most well-known philosophers in history and people study him ferociously even today.

So I started reading A Song of Ice and Fire and I don’t get why people are upset that Jaimie Lannister broke his oath and killed the crazy king. Someone had to do it and besides oaths are just the honor bound promises and people break promises all the time. It’s weird people are so hung up on honor that they’ll complain about someone killing a terrible king because they are breaking an oath.

i just read someone say the only way for dany to not become “a villain” was if “she rejected her last name and ran from the dothraki after having rhaego and opened an orphanage” so basically if she removed herself from story so your favorite characters could occupy all the space she takes up💀

Now this is hilarious.

People have been making jokes about how Dr. Strange was going to be so done with Loki and Wanda messing with the fabric of the universe for months.

The Same Man is somehow the worst offender of all three.

Like Wanda only dealed with one small town while she was having a breakdown and wasn't aware how much people in it were suffering.

Loki was pushed around by the plot into some insane situations. He only wanted to get out and not mess with the timeline. Slyvie broke the timeline.

But Strange, oh my god. He just said yes to an incredible risky spell without even thinking about it. Winking.

He nearly destroyed the whole reality.

At this point Loki and Wanda should give Strange a piece of their mind.

Also I am like really confused by Dr. Strange's characterization. Wasn't the whole point of his debut movie him maturing into the role of Sorcerer Supreme? What happened to the competent man in IW and Endgame? This is some serious character devolution. Smells like bad writing. Maybe they can bond with Loki over that.

POST PLUS IS COMING, WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT!

Despite the fancy survey, changes to the UI and TOS reveal we’re getting the service in the future whether we want it or not. Obviously, Post+ is a terrible idea that is trying to bank revenue on user content. Unlike patreon or onlyfans, tumblr’s primary focus is on FAN content. The legality of this is NOT in the users favor and as the new tumblr TOS states, said users will be entirely liable for whatever legal matters arise.

SO WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Besides filling out the survey, it’s time to show tumblr we mean business and show our displeasure by hitting them where it hurts.

Why are official accounts even tweeting such cringe messages? If they are trying to attract a younger audience, this is failing miserably. I am aware Darklina won't be endgame, but this is just petty.

Don't return ebooks or audiobooks you've consumed on Amazon and Audible

Amazon and Audible made it into their policy that you can return ebooks and audiobooks and get a full refund.

They actively promote this, making their book shop into a book lending service, de facto a library you subscribe to. That's their business plan to encourage subscribtions.

The dirty thing, however, is that Amazon and Audible are making the authors pay for each refunded item. They will detract money, income, royalties, from the authors' account. They're not hurting from the refund, the author is.

Look, no-one is saying you're not allowed to return an item if you've read the first 50 pages or listened to the first 45 minutes. Maybe the style is not your thing. Maybe you don't like the narrator's voice. Maybe the quality of the writing drops severely after chapter three. Go ahead, if the product is bad, return it.

What I'm talking about is that no one should be able to listen to a ten-hour audiobook or read through nearly an entire novel and still get a refund.

Most of the readers don't know who's paying for this business plan. It's not Amazon and Audible, they're still keeping your subscription money. It's the authors.

Spread the word.
