You know how people tell you: "It's just a cat"?

"At least it's not a person, that would be a lot harder"?

Here's a story, then.

I lost my dad two years ago. It was sudden, scary, painful. My mom tried to commit suicide after that. I thought I was immune to grief after that, especially when it comes to pets.

I mean, I lost one of the closest people to me and I didn't even get to sat goodbye to him. Try to top that, yeah?

And now my three year old cat is suddenly sick. We went to the vet hospital, I spent 3k$. They said they cannot help him. He has a rare autoimmune disease which caused kidney failure. They let us go home, so I could say goodbye to him. He looked pretty ok when we got back yesterday.

Since this morning he isn't eating. He came to me and lay down beside me, breathing heavily. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

I don't know what to do. I don't want him to suffer. I keep thinking that maybe he will survive. He doesn't look in pain. But he isn't eating. Wtf do I do?

"Oh don't worry, it's just a cat."

I lost my father and grandmother in less than a year. I almost had a miscarriage during labour, my son barely made it out alive.

And still, here I am, crying over "just some cat".

Grief doesn't make you immune. And losing a person doesn't make it less painful in the future when losing a pet.

Trust me, I know.

The news of #OurFlagMeansDeath's cancellation is deeply disappointing. David Jenkins envisioned a three-season saga, and if the production team is determined for another voyage, we stand by, ready to support. Time to retrieve our leathers and brace ourselves for battle. 🏴‍☠️

Now, more than ever, our voices need to be heard! There is a very small window of time to get WB Discovery to reverse their decision!

Blast them with sheer volume and love! Keep it positive! Threats do more harm than good.

Chances of Renewal or being picked up by another studio, here: Very, very slim. This was always meant to be a 3-season series. Another channel would have to license the rights to the first 2 seasons, pay for the 3rd season, and know that it’s not going to extend beyond that.

There’s no spinoff or franchise or merchandise opportunities for them at that point. Our best bet is WB Discovery allowing us a final season, in any form.

So what do we do about it?

[a] Letter Writing–We need thousands of people calling, emailing, writing and posting. Not just you, get everyone in your circle to help or to agree to let you represent them as well.

[b] Petition–We need tens of thousands of signatures to get their attention! Short and sweet messages. Get your friends in other fandoms to join. A signature takes one minute and can make a difference.

[c] Review–Going on IMDB (as a registered member–it’s free!) and Rotten Tomatoes, and rating each episode, is a huge boost. Rate other shows too, to keep the algorithm from discounting your voice.

[d] Streaming–Keep watching both seasons! Especially season 2. Watch on different devices. Get friends and family to watch or at least run it in the background.

Tl;dr: We’ve got the tiniest window to reverse the decision! Call, email, post, write, sign the petition, review the show, stream it often on different devices. Get anyone you can to help do the same.

Always keep it positive. Always show the love and gratitude for having this incredible show to begin with. We’re here not just as fans of the show, but fans of the hardworking cast and crew, who deserve to finish telling this story.

Guys, English isn't my native language, so bear with me please.

Seriously though, is there a patreon/campaign or something to raise money for renewing ofmd? Or encouraging David Jenkins to make more shows like ofmd?

It's no surprise that streaming services don't give a fuck about quality shows, queer representation and etc.

Really hope things will be different in a few years.

Ofmd is one of those shows that were a masterpiece. It was clever, funny, refreshing. I usually can't concentrate while watching movies or TV shows, but I've finished watching both seasons in less than 2 days.

It's not just about canceling a TV show, it's so much more than that.
