i think the most ironic thing abt dnis is that someone can say "dni if u'r homophobic/sexist/racist" and u'll look at their interests and they're literally just that lmao
I stopped reading DNIs because 90% of the time they were just fucking inscrutable to me. I’d go to somebody’s page and it would be like “DNI if you’re a COSLA apologist,” so then I would Google COSLA and it was just like “Welp, either things are really heating up in the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities fandom or I still have no idea what the fuck this person is talking about.” Or “DNI if you identify as ANFO.” Okay, well, I definitely don’t identify as Ammonium Nitrate/Fuel Oil, but that’s probably not what you meant (although hey, maybe you did; I obviously don’t know enough about your views on chemical compounds to outright dispute that option).” Like, you have my blessing to hate whatever obscure fandom pairing or super niche kink group you want, but just know I am embracing ignorance on this one and will not be looking that shit up. Peace.

i saw a glimpse of that side of the fandom once,, i am so glad i never encountered it again lmao but honestly,, i still like the idea of allison going pro and then starting her own beauty line or sum but yeah lol (i keep contradicting myself it's so hard to love complex characters but also i just can't make a straight argument most times lmao😭)
about the pro-allison thingy...
I am one of the firm advocates and believers that Allison Reynolds would either go pro or do both (fashion and exy) but recently, I’ve been thinking about her ec and I think I’m beginning to see where Nora came from.
The short summary of the argument for the point of Allison choosing to go pro is this: Allison gave up her millions of dollars of inheritance for exy, got disowned for persisting to play it, and pretty much chose a bastard sport over her privileges. She fought tooth and nail to be a part of the court and despite her looks, she brawled with the best and the best. Therefore, it’s only natural that she pursues it in the future, right? Right??
That’s what I thought too, but then that leaves a new question unanswered: why is it given that she pursues it in the future? Does that mean an effort of fighting for something you love is futile unless it’s the end goal? Does your passion for something need to be your destination for it to be a worthy dream to fight for?
And I will be completely contradicting my prior Allison-centric posts but no, I think the answer is no. Because the truth is, Allison didn’t fought for exy. Exy was the thing that made her fight back from her controlling and overbearing parents, it was the thing that made her feel alive and free. And while she chose to play collegiate exy over her millions of inheritance, it isn’t something she necessarily see pursuing in the future and I think that’s okay. It doesn’t make her fight for it worthless and it wouldn’t render that choice a downgrade to her character because the fight wasn’t about exy at all. It’s about what she wants and exy just so happened to be the catalyst at that moment. She didn’t gave everything up for a sport she ended up not pursuing full-time— she gave it all up for control of her life. And if what pushes her to do so is not a dream she plans to pursue full-time but a mere hobby that she could come back to from time to time, something that gives her a short thrill but not the thing that she can see herself doing for the rest of her life, the stop point or journey along the way but not necessarily the destination— is that really so wrong?

zelda fitzgerald is such an icon that she single handedly caused the most cursed affair in the modernist era. only she could cause a chain of events that lead fitzgerald and hemingway to checking if the other had a small dick or not.

Andrew: I have a bad feeling about this.
Neil: What do you mean?
Andrew: Don't you ever get that little voice in your head that tells you if something is going to get you in trouble?
Neil: No.
Andrew: That actually explains so much.

nope it's the stickball-obsessed shortass redhead who calls people shorter than him by two to three inches midgets and couldn't keep his mouth shut to save his life.
“Fuck you my child is completely fine.” Your child’s comfort character is a 5’0 blonde boy who carries knives and thinks violence is always the answer.

Allison: Here, for you.
Neil: Why are you giving me a picture of Aaron?
Allison: This is Andrew.
Neil: No, it’s Aaron. I don’t want a picture of him.
Allison: This is Andrew, I swear. It’s from the official lineup photos we took two weeks ago.
[Neil pulls out his phone and calls Andrew]
Andrew: What happened.
Neil: Why is there some asshole on your Foxes photo?
Andrew: Me and Aaron switched places.
Neil: Disgusting.
Andrew: You could tell?
Neil: Obviously, the man is hideous.
Allison: Neil, they’re identical twins.
Neil: So Aaron really has no excuse to be that ugly.
Andrew: …136%.
[line goes dead]
Allison: That was actually kind of cute.
Neil: Yeah, that’s why he hung up.

no one ever really cared about what neil or andrew wanted in their whole lives and i just realized that in their relationship, it's one of the most important things. whatever the other wants or asks is very important and they always give it a lot of thought even if it's the silliest thing, they will consider it because they both know how it is to have no one to care about you or what you want, they both struggle to voice their wants but they know they're safe with each other so it's getting easier and easier at some point

Thinking about this AU again
~~
“You didn’t have to kill him,” Neil said. His steps were sticky from the drying blood, the man’s desperate pleas ringing in his ears alongside the echo of Aaron’s gun.
Aaron didn’t bother giving Neil even a glance, simply continued down the street. He moved slow and easy, as if the weight of what he had just done, what he had just taken, was nothing. In a sick rush, Neil thought of his childhood home, of the predators that had lurked there.
“You could have left him alive,” he pressed. “Sent him back to Riko as a message.”
“Is that not what I’ve done? Tell me, what message would you have given him? I have found a dead body speaks louder than any words. Especially when it comes to people like us.”
“He wasn’t anyone,” Neil hissed. “He had no fight with you!”
“Actions have consequences,” he said simply, as uncaring as he had been breaking the man’s fingers.
Rage and disgust curled up in Neil, rotten and foul. “You know what I think? I think you like it. I think you enjoy when people fear you, take pleasure in cutting them down. I know people like you, Aaron Minyard. I know a monster when I see one.”
Now Aaron turned on him, violence in his step. Even with his hands still hanging loose by his sides, Neil tensed. He knew first hand how quick of a draw the man was.
“Let me tell you what I see when I look at you, Nathaniel. You are the coward who cut and run, abandoning the same people you swore to protect. You are the horror of your father, in image and talent. You are so terrified of stepping into your birthright you can’t see how you’ve become something worse.
“You think I like it?” Aaron continued, pressing close enough to force Neil back a step, away from the threat cracking through him. “You’re right. Every time, I enjoy it. Ever since the first time I watched the realization on their faces when they realized they were going to die, I’ve liked it. Because ever since that moment, since their deaths, no one has touched Andrew. I have kept him safe for years. And that, Nathaniel, is why I don’t blink.” He stepped back, cool indifference once again sliding over his face. “That’s the difference between us. I don’t care about being a monster. I know who I am.”
