Confession time: I don’t know why but I have a small obsession with the recent-ish Netflix anime version of Ultraman. I still put on the final two episodes of the series a couple times a month at least. I have no other experience with the Ultraman franchise xD

Part 206 of my bakery “enemies” au!
THE END!! I can't believe I finally completed this. When I first started this comic, I had no idea that it would end up being this long. A little over 3 years and over 200 parts, so around 2000 panels. (My folder that holds all my files relating to this comic is 3 GB with 2,017 items....). I honestly can't believe that I managed to stick around to the end of this. Thank you all so much for the support, I never imagined that so many people would care about this comic when I started it!
Of course, there are still some loose threads. The kwamis and Nathalie for example, but the core of this series has always been about the emotional conflict between Marinette and Adrien, and that has been resolved. I have some epilogue ideas to cover those loose ends, but this comic has already taken so much of my time and I'm not sure I want to promise that I'll get around to it. ... But who knows. Maybe!
For now, Adrien and Marinette will get some long-deserved rest.

So what you're saying is that Kverse Merlin was a lot less punchable than canon Trollhunters Merlin lmao.
Great way to put it :P

Will the Kverse Merlin be the Trollhunters version exactly, or has he been replaced/mixed with some other interpretation via the mixing and matching of universes?
You know me, I'm a notorious cherry-picker; Merlin was the most powerful sorcerer of his time and he was certainly proud of it to the point of arrogance, but he wasn't so much intentionally condescending as much as he acted knowing himself to be the authority on magic in that era - he wasn't trying to put you down, but you'd feel that way sometimes because he knew everything and figured you wouldn't. He was a lot more hands-on with his many plans and schemes, and he had a huge soft spot for outcasts and so-called lesser beings, being a Cambion (aka half-demon, half-human) himself. While his contributions to the survival of Trolls as a species are certainly notable, the fact is that were it not for his actions and later influence, the Earth's magical creatures might've truly died out.
He had a bit of an Old Testament God side to him - it was rare, but Merlin's wrath unleashed would've been the stuff of legends. While his sometimes arrogant demeanor could put people off (especially in a time when the world of magic was suspect at best and hated more often than not by mortals), he was fiercely loyal and protective of his chosen people, from his various apprentices to King Arthur himself. He was especially dedicated to ensuring magic users could practice their craft at minimal risk to themselves and others around them, especially mundane people, establishing standards for the study and practice of magic that remain to this day.
Merlin's biggest failing, and what led to his downfall, was that he thought himself to be capable of solving all of the magical world's problems on his own; he failed to set up a successor, and he neglected or ignored threats from the very people he cared about most because he thought he could handle them all on his own, or was spread too thin to even acknowledge the danger. His death led to a power vacuum that splintered the Masters of the Mystic Arts and left many magical communities unprotected - easy prey for anti-magic crusaders.

In the case of Gems, are they treated more as a magical problem or an extraterrestrial threat by the various forces protecting Earth?
The only people on Earth actively looking at Gems and Homeworld as a whole as a potential future threat are the Crystal Gems themselves and SWORD; SHIELD is only vaguely aware of their existence, the Ancient One dissuaded the Masters of the Mystic Arts from interacting with Gems and Strange hasn't exactly gotten around to change that policy, and even the zealot-like Forever Knights (who believe, in their own twisted way, they're also protecting Earth and humanity) aren't actually aware of the full extent of the danger that Homeworld potentially returning presents.

You had said that both Paradox and Eon knew about the Kryptonverse. So, what does each of them think about Doom and Reed and the amalgamated universe they have created?
I think they would both consider it an abomination, but Eon would see opportunity and inspiration where Paradox only holds contempt for Victor and Reed and pity for the inhabitants of such an unstable universe - not saying the fabric of the Kverse is currently in shambles or anything, but you might expect that it's a lot more fragile than any normal 'verse.

Is it not having the Essence of Pink that causes those specific deficiencies in the Era 2 Gems, or would they have them the same no matter which of the four Essences was missing?
It depends on the proportion; every Gem is meant to be created with the essence of all 4 Diamonds, but the proportion of each essence differs depending on which one of them designed the Gem; the Lapis Lazuli type, for example, was designed almost exclusively by Blue Diamond and her essence makes up the vast majority of the infusion, so an Era 2 Lapis should be relatively unaffected by the relative lack of Pink essence, while Gem types like Jasper, a collaboration between Pink and Yellow, have practically gone out of production.
When certain Gem types are required to be produced and the lack of Pink essence is unacceptable, Homeworld culls significant numbers of "expendable" Gems like Rubies and harvests the essence within them to be reused in the production of essential Gems. This doesn't happen often - expendable or not, every Gem serves a purpose and harvesting hampers their objectives, on top of the obvious risk of rebellion that a culling like that involves - but it's sometimes considered necessary.

Would Thanos be at all interested in using the Omnitrix to resurrect his species?
Full disclosure, for a second there I was baffled by this ask because I read Omnitrix and assumed you were asking about Vilgax, whose whole deal is, of course, exactly that haha. My bad :P
I think he'd sooner try to destroy the Omnitrix or otherwise render it unable to create life, considering he's hellbent on eliminating enough lifeforms to guarantee there's enough to go around for the survivors. Maybe before he started his crusade, this would've been an option he'd consider, but now there's absolutely no room for alternatives in his mind.

If this is the end of Rooster Teeth, can I ask what your honest opinion on the ups and downs of RWBY was?
Difficult to answer, since there were so many of both, but I'll try to keep it brief.
I don't know if this is a hot take or not (it's been ages since I delved into the fandom at all), but despite how much I do love the series as a whole, there's always been a part of the fan in me that died with Volume 3. I wholeheartedly bought into the premise of the school setting, the conflict simmering in the background and only really coming to the forefront once a season or so, the world ending conflict seemingly years and years away. When people started dying - and some of my favorite characters, at that - I disconnected from the show, and truth be told, I never 100% reconnected.
Of course, a ton of fun and interesting characters and developments hide behind that V3 "barrier", so to speak. It was definitely worth picking the show back up, even if the direction of the show just never appealed to me quite as much as it did in the beginning. While, yes, the animation suffered after the loss of Monty, they improved very quickly and re-figured out their visual identity, delivering some incredible fights and locations later on in the series.
It'd be remiss of me not to mention the show's troubled production, both on its own and as part of RT's issues at large. I'm not really qualified to comment on it much, but what I did read was pretty heartbreaking, and coupled with my disdain for certain narrative choices in V8 (talked about it before, but tl;dr I find Penny's 2nd death a baffling decision that smacks of cheap shock value), it ultimately led me to simply stop watching the show.
End of the day, I still love RWBY, warts and all. It's got a very cool premise and some of my favorite comfort characters. RWBY was one of the very first fandoms that got me to read fanfiction, and I believe was the very second one I ever wrote for (even though I wouldn't want to look back on those old fics in a million years, lol). I'm sad that RT is at the end of its rope, and I'll be sadder still if RWBY doesn't ever get a proper ending, but I've also made my peace with it. I'm a notorious cherry-picker, so I'll always have the good bits to remember.

The constant rolling disaster that is Overwatch's game development aside, what really perplexes me about how Blizzard is handling the broader franchise is their continual insistence that a canon narrative exists in spite of their equally continual refusal to tell anyone what it is.
Like, okay, the events of the games aren't canon. Fair enough: the games are multiplayer-only, and you can't account for player actions.
Oh, and the animated short films aren't canon either – they're properly understood as in-universe propaganda, not depictions of actual events. That's a little high concept for you guys, but fine.
But surely the comics are canon, right? Well, no; some of the comics (we're not telling you which ones) were canon at one point, but the writing team has decided to go in a different direction.
My dudes, what is left? The weird Source Filmmaker porn? Is that canon? Well, apparently it's at least as canon as anything else!

Unless it's a spoiler, and I have a feeling it might be, why does magic screw with tech so much in the K-Verse?
Yeah, I can't talk about specifics, but think about it this way; technological advancement and the practice of magic have very similar purposes overall - taking a certain knowledge base and using it to enable people to manipulate their environment and circumstances in a way that they couldn't otherwise practically accomplish. The sticking point here is that technology accomplishes this by working within an established framework (i.e., it follows the rules of the universe), while magic bypasses or even modifies that existing framework - in essence, breaking the rules.
Magic messes with technology by disrupting the established principles upon which its operations are based. Technology affects magic by virtue of being a (relatively) novel, unnatural element that is not an intrinsic part of a given universe, and thus causes magic to react unpredictably when they interact. It's not always a violently explosive reaction, and up to a certain level of advanced tech and magic they can sometimes operate in close proximity, but after a certain point you're just asking for chaos.

Here's hoping therapy gets to him before it comes to that xD

Kinda left field question here, but have you ever watched Code Lyoko or W.I.T.C.H?
Left field questions are perfectly fine! I may have watched an ep or two of Code Lyoko back when it originally aired but I remember very little about it aside from its very distinctive art style. It’s in my extended watchlist (aka the “not a priority but would be fun to check out” list).
WITCH I’ve had recommended before. I keep getting it confused with Winx Club every time I look it up haha. I’d be down to check it out, but I haven’t watched any of it, no.

Does the K-Verse have a Godzilla? There's an Earth-616 version so just asking.
Your timing is rather impeccable anon, since my brain is full of Godzilla thoughts at the moment - though it's not that surprising, if you think about it, considering it's Godzilla season right now, and has been for a bit.
I've mentioned before that giant monsters are a bit of a huge ask (heh) for the Kverse because, as wacky as it has been (and will continue to get), I do try to write the series from a fairly grounded place. This is to say, the typical level of death and destruction involved with characters such as Godzilla and his peers would have such massive ramifications in this setting that it would cause a fundamental shift in the way characters and stories operate, at least on the level of Earth.
...that being said, I do f*cking love me some Godzilla. As I'm sure you'll have noticed by now, I'm in a bit of a creative rut at the moment - I haven't stopped writing, but my output is unfortunately pretty minimal, and has been for close to a month. Having Godzilla brainrot has helped a lot; so, I can't tell you that I plan to include Godzilla et al because, right now, I don't, but I did just spend most of this week figuring out how I would do it.
