A birthday gift for my brother. I posted this on my Deviantart a few weeks ago and now I'm finally getting around to Tumblr.

I like to think of Rouge as Shadow's older sister. I drew the characters (aside from Rouge) being annoyed with each other, but it's a loving, "you're my annoying sibling" kind of attitude.

Digital Artdump time again because I don't feel like finishing anything else rn. Also a few drawings here and there in these dumps (like the last one here) might not be finished because they come from a file from a while back where I stupidly merged every layer without realizing. I'm not redrawing most of those drawings just to finish shading details. It would just be heartbreaking. Anyway, my fave is probably the schoolgirl. Took a lot liberties with the outfit obviously but who cares, it's cute.

If you haven't already seen in the news, Afghanistan's government has fallen to the Taliban extremists and the United States is pulling out the country, putting a messy, unsatisfying, and worrying end to a 20 year war in Afghanistan against Islamic extremism.     This news hit me hard, but I know my shock and fear at this failure of freedom is just an insignificant percentage of the fear, sadness, anxiety, and uncertainty Afghan refugees, current Afghan citizens, and even Afghan and Islamic families living all over the world and within the USA must be facing. I am not here to say whether the President's decision to finally leave was right or wrong because the situation is complicated and I have never been here to promote political rhetoric (unless it has to do with civil rights for minorities, women, or the LGBTQA+.) However, I am deeply saddened by the sadness and fear, perhaps even anger, no doubt being felt by the Afghan and Islamic people and being felt by our own Afghan American and Islamic American citizens. The night I heard the news I stayed up to make this piece as quickly as I could in order to process my emotions about the situation and all my worries: worries about the fate of women and young girls in the country, worries about the fate of good progressive and supportive men in the country, worries about little boys growing up under hateful and sexist doctrines, worries about unwarranted growing Islamophobia within this country and around the world. Peaceful Muslims are going through enough right now, and we would all do best to remember that for the vast majority of Muslims the Taliban is their enemy, too. Unfortunately as with any religion or group with power (ex. with the U.S. police force, Catholics, other sects of Christianity), a few bad apples seem to spoil the bunch in terms of public perception. I know we might be scared for the safety of U.S. troops and our safety as U.S. citizens under the growing Taliban threat but I implore everyone to remember who the most impacted victims are and to see the humanity of peoples whose traditions and clothing may differ from that of you or I. The Islamic people, as a whole, are not scary or a threat, they are people with families and interests and passions and dreams, dreams of freedom and fairness, just like you or I. If you are a member of the Islamic or Afghan community or have family or close friends who are, I am sorry for any pain you may be feeling at this time. To U.S. soldiers and military members who did what they could to provide humanitarian aid in the area and fend off terrorist threats, thank you for your service to the American people and to the Afghan people. I offer my condolences if you felt your work was not yet done.     At this juncture, there is little that I see can be done to directly help the people within Afghanistan while the Taliban has control, besides praying for the safety of good and innocent people within the country and not forgetting about their current struggle. So all I want to do is send the message to remind anyone feeling hopeless that when we can seemingly do nothing, our last resort can always be holding each other closer and not losing the hope that a better day will come. We must support and love one another even in the darkest times. We may lose wars, but whatever happens we must not lose the war in our hearts and minds. We must not give up hoping. ___________________________________________

Artdumps are back in a digital form! :D I'll be calling them D.A.Ds for Digital Art Dumps. Ever so often you may see a traditional drawing or sketch here and there (like the boys here) but mostly it's gonna be digital art. Everything is just so much easier and cleaner and the tablet and it allows for so much more versatility. I'm allowed to mess up and restart way more easily.  Also it is so fun to take my old doodles, drawings, and unfinished pieces and redraw them. Everything digital here was redrawn heavily from or inspired somewhat by an older sketch. It's so fun to see how far I've come! Maybe one day I'll show off the before but... fair warning, it's always such a mess XD.

Reblogging myself because this is also musical fanart and not just cartoon fanart. I still wonder everyday why I even bothered to make two separate Tumblr pages in the first place, but whatever I'm in it now. *sigh*

I. HAVE. BEEN. DYING. to post this Crossover Poster ever since I finished it a few days ago! Wanted to save it for my first post of August, though! August is my favorite month, Miraculous Ladybug one of my favorite shows (despite its mess), and Heathers one of my favorite movies and musicals! This poster is my laptop wallpaper rn. Ugh, I need to draw more of this AU! XD

There are two versions because I worry the bloodstains are too much, but the blood stained one is my favorite version (ofc). Also an idea I have for another musical crossover far into the future: Beetlejuice the musical x Miraculous, anyone? Just got super into the musical and it's got the same musical vibes as Heathers. Only trouble I'm having is settling on a cast! I've got three different versions of the cast that could work... multiple versions? I dunno, let's just focus on Heathers for now. ^ o ^

Today is Father's Day in the Dominican Republic, but my family and I are choosing to make it a Grandparents' Day celebration since we have them both here visiting us. These are the images I made for a card for them both. I'm happy I now have portraits of my precious grandparents that I can cherish. My grandmother is serving up the fried eggs and frying cheese she always makes for dinner while waving around a knife because for some reason she always has a knife in her hands. My grandfather is always either napping, watching videos of people dancing to Dominican or otherwise Hispanic music, listening to classic Hispanic music, or doing yard work or some other form of manual labor. My grandparents embody very traditional gender roles, but that's necessarily a bad thing. They are really the best grandparents anyone could ask for. I am so blessed to have them as mis abuelos and my role models.

A year ago I made some bases I can use to draw different outfits on Ladybug / Marinette. And now you can to, so long as you credit me, of course. Figured it made sense to use Marinette as a model because 1. She's into fashion, 2. I want to draw some fashion designs, and 3. I want to see Marinette in my fashion designs. First one's meant for her superhero persona, third's meant for civilian outfits, and the one in the middle is meant to show off the back of any outfit in either persona. Not sure if I'll ever really use it though. Not all designs I draw on these Marinette bases will necessarily be intended for her (like I don't see them as her style), so in a way it feels like I'm drawing fanart but not really drawing fanart at the same time, if that makes any sense, since I'm really drawing clothes not necessarily intended for the Miraculous Universe.

Second image: Finally a year or so later I'm posting some designs! First off in the Marinette fashion collection we have casual and superhero outfits based on color schemes I find appealing and how I view those color schemes. Originally red, white, and black was another pair, but that superwear design needed refining and I wanted to finally post this, so that one will be in another set of color scheme casual & superwear clothes. This was a lot of work already and it is a minimal color scheme challenge, so I hope no one minds the lack of shading on the clothes. Anyway... ABOUT THE SUPERPOWERS: #1 - Hero Name : Fractal         Power: Fractal Shields, Barriers, and Small Weapons - Can generate incredibly strong iridescent crystallized shields and crystallized shuriken-like weapons that look like snowflakes by focusing energy out of her hands (don't ask me for a scientific explanation, she just can. If you can think of one let me know.) Her barriers and weapons always follow a fractal arrangement for some reason. (Yes, her name is very literal.) #2 - Hero Name : Cricket (or Silent Cricket?)        Power: Tech provides Super Hearing and Super Jump - Ironically, unlike a noisy cricket, Cricket's goal is stealth and information-gathering. She uses her insect-like antennae for super-hearing, listening in on secrets and shady dealings. She is called "cricket" not only because of her antennae but because her super boots are able to power up, storing enough energy to allow her to leap very high and across vast distances like her namesake. There are small cushions underneath her boots that deploy when she leaps so that she always lands quietly and does not give away her position. #2 - Hero Name : Kore        Power: Plant Super-growth & Control over Plants - Named after the Greek nature goddess of spring and fertility Kore (another name for the  goddess Persephone that means "maiden" and has a little more of a punchy ring to it than Persephone), Kore the hero likewise can stimulate plant growth to produce plants of enormous size. She can also use surrounding plants, including her gigantic plants, to protect and attack. Just in case she finds herself fighting in an area lacking in plant life, she has seeds stowed away in hidden pockets in her cape. All she needs to  do is locate a suitable spot for vegetation (even something as small as crack in the pavement will do in a pinch), and then the fight is back on! ABOUT THE CLOTHES: * Note: You can imagine that the casual wear is the "civilian look" of the hero wears the paired costume. 📷 #1 - Bubblegum Pink, Yellow, Light Blue : I love yellow and blue together and combined with pink I think it adds just the right amount of POP! With these colors I really wanted to go for a color-blocking look with both outfits since I love that aesthetic and it suits the bright colors. I also knew when I started this project that I REALLY wanted to make a minimal-aesthetic hero suit with asymmetry for flair. For the casual look, I thought a 60's, 70's-ish mod style dress would be perfect for color-blocking. While Marinette looks super cute in this casual look, I think it most suits Chloe actually, who I see as having the perfect look for 60's-70's style clothes. Color scheme might have to be changed though, probably to black, white, and yellow or to pumpkin orange and lavender, oddly enough.  #2 - Purple, Neon Green, Black : Maybe I'm just being influenced by Winx Club, but there's something about these colors together that SCREAM techno and techno music to me. For the casual look Mari is modelling a cute club outfit complete with glow stick accessories, even though I think Marinette and I would agree it's not either of our's usual tastes (You'd see me wearing #1 with a belt and possibly #3). I wanted her tights to look like an arcade floor. 📷 Funny enough, my brother really likes that look, so go figure. The hero look is tech mixed with insect. The cricket idea came from me wanting to give the outfit funky looking antennae and jump boots and it kinda just evolved from there. The butt cape

(?) is meant to emulate cricket wings and the line designs on her arms, legs, and butt-cape skirt-thing are based off of the look of crickets' legs. (Lovely design on a cricket's leg, but that doesn't mean I ever wanna have to google those disgusting creatures again. I actually really HATE crickets. 📷 Saw one in my room once and it was the creepiest thing I had ever seen, rivaling big ass praying mantises and house centipedes.) #3 - A lighter Celadon/Sea foam Green, Darker Pink, A bluish Celadon Green, A kind-of Celadon Green : ...It's hard to specifically name these shades of green, okay? Just know I really like green. Anyway, this combination may seem a bit more random, but I think that's because for these looks I started with the aesthetic in mind before I picked the colors (I think I did, anyway. It's been like a year, who knows?). I wanted to make outfits that were soft and gentle. I also really wanted to make a flower-themed hero suit because I LOVE florals and flowers. For the casual look, I want to push the cutesy aspect of it without making it seem like too much. It's kinda like a softer, cuter version of the first casual look's aesthetic. I can see Marinette wearing this but perhaps without the headband and with flats instead of the socks and heels. For the hero outfit, I just went all out with the detail. I wanted the hero look like a mix between modern hero and classic Greek goddess. Check the vines emulating gladiator sandals, the laurel wreath, and the flowy cape meant to emulate a flowing dress. WHEW! Finally done! Thanks for reading if you did!

REDRAW, REDRAW, REDRAW!

I beg of you, do everything in your power to ignore the fact that in the Before I accidentally drew the hand in a – *ahem* – seemingly compromising position. The hand on the After is what I had more or less intended.  Y'know looking bak at older drawings I can always tell when I got impatient with a drawing and started outlining before the drawing was ready, and it was definitely the case here. Unsure lines, lines that don't look right, and mistakes I tried to draw over. Yeesh. Makes me really happy when I can see the finished product of its redraw having finally created more or less what I had intended in the first place.   .*` \(^-^)/ `*.

Anyway, Happy almost A-MUR-ICA Day, everyone! I dunno about you, but I love dressing up for themes and holidays so I WILL be drawing a flag or some fireworks on my face with colored pencils once again this year, no doubt.

Side note: Did you ever see this trend, like described in a magazine or something, of putting stickers on your body while out in the sun to get like a "tan tattoo" or whatever? I think it's kinda stupid now but as a prepubescent child I really wanted to do that. XD I may think it looks silly but I think she's pulling it off. :) Lol, literally since it seems she almost forgot to take some stickers off before entering the ocean. (Har HAR, I am comedy genius.)

Sonny's just your average wandering magician roaming the streets to find people who need cheering up. No one knows just where she appears from and where she goes after she's successfully brightened your day, but the mystery somehow makes her all the more... enchanting, I suppose.   Big thanks to my family member who gave me an odd and intriguing enough request to get me drawing. He asked me if could specifically draw "a cute asian girl with glasses in a black and white suit". And I was like, "Cute? Asian? Girl? In formal wear? In a TUX? You have given me an offer I can't refuse!" (I love Asian features if y'all did not already know.) The whole magician element just naturally evolved out of the pose and outfit. Gave her pink hair too since it's a Korean hairstyle trend I've noticed recently and I felt it really suited her. If I draw her again I make the roots a little softer brown since it looks too harsh to me, even though her natural hair is indeed black. Her eyes are black-gray but you can't tell with the tinted glasses.

Nothing says SPRING like Sakura ~ So one of my favorite games of all time that I often play to chill out with is Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (which I know, I know, is a Sonic re-skin of PoyoPoyo), but recently I've also been introduced to another classic I'm probably just as obsessed with nowadays: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo! And I'm sure you can guess based on my predilection towards androgynous femininity and pale skinned brunettes with dark eyes (and the fact that I've clearly drawn fanart for her) which character was my instant favorite. Sakura is just so cute!!! I want to hug her! I like that she maintains feminine qualities about her like her adorable flouncy skirt and her optimism and also wants to learn how to kick a**. It's so cute how she looks up to Ryu as a mentor without just drooling all over him, you know? Very wholesome relationship between those two it seems. ^ - ^ (Also I won't pretend I know anything more about this character than search through her fandom wikipedia page could provide. I'm definitely not like a Street Fighter or Dark Stalkers SuperFan or anything.  I just really like Puzzle Fighter.) 

My brother just doesn't get why I like Sakura so much (y'know because he's simply uncultured, and I suppose he can't help that). He'd much rather see me draw any of the other girls in the game, and trust me I'll get to it eventually. (Probably. Maybe. I dunno, never actually take my word for these things. I suck at motivating myself right now and suck at finishing projects always. ) (Also please forgive my backgrounds. How the heck do I draw the ground? I've really gotta practice backgrounds, I know. I'm trying!)
