hiii. what are your thoughts on dc ending? will ran be able to be okay with knowing the fact that shinichi used to be conan? like, what is the aftermath of bringing down the bo?
-
At the moment, I really don't know what to expect for the ending of DC as a whole. I've seen various imaginings on how it might all go down, but truthfully, there's just too much to juggle to try and figure out how it might all happen.
During the entire series, the confrontations with the BO have been covert by necessity. It's always been 'here's our known group of evil agents, how will our own hero and his allies foil them this time', and at the moment that's about all that could still happen. With the agents in play and the information Shinichi's team has, it would be really easy to make a scenario where the BO gets outplayed and taken down.
But the (presumably) last BO buildup for the boss needs to be setup first. He's the factor that decides how the BO could be taken down, and not just the agents. While Gin and co could be taken down with a proper dramatic spy showdown, the entire org would likely need even more information and receipts to tie all the crime together to hold everything accountable to the law, and all that. The detective drama side of cornering with inescapable logic to go with the flashy use of guns and bombs.
But right now, there's no clear way of how it'd all end. If it's taken care of properly, Amuro's section of the police will probably be taking care of the long term clean up of the group. If there's no dramatic moment of getting the data about APTX from computers during the confrontation(s), then there might be some strings pulled either by Amuro or by the FBI to get that information. Any outcome, I do see Gosho giving Shinichi the permanent antidote. Whether Haibara takes it or not is a toss up, but he's getting his old self back.
And whether Shinichi tells Ran the truth before or after getting the antidote, she'd be okay with it as long as he actually gets to explain. I personally am a fan of 'she already knows and has just stopped trying to pry', but even if she doesn't know, I don't think it'd surprise her. She'd probably have questions, but she's been close to figuring it out plenty of times. She was originally getting upset at the idea because of all the lies thrown around to divert her attention and the idea of 'if he's right there, why not just tell her instead of leaving her to worry', but after he told her his feelings in London, it's just not as big a deal as it used to be. He loves her, and as long as she knows that, Ran trusts Shinichi. When he finally tells her, she'll hear him out.

Thank you for your answer... Um... What do you think Kaito gonna do if he know that his dad still alive? and chikage didn't tell him?
I think he'd ask if Chikage knew about it first before getting mad at her for not telling him about Toichi. And as bad as it is that Kaito's main motivation for being KID is meaningless, we don't actually know if Chikage knows Kaito's motives to begin with. ...Or even if Jii knows why.
...There's a solid chance that the only thing anyone really knows about why he decided to take up the mantle is that he said he'd become KID after learning that Toichi was indeed the original KID. They might not know that he intended to draw out Toichi's killer, much less that he succeeded in doing so.
And if that's the case, then I doubt he'd get too angry at Chikage, whether she knew Toichi was alive or not. The big question is whether or not she knew the circumstance surrounding Toichi's stage death and if she knew KID being in the public eye was more dangerous than just irritating the police.
As far as how he'd react to the big bombshell... it'd depend on the actual news/circumstance. If Toichi just showed up and said 'hey son, surprise, I'm alive', I think Kaito would punch him on the grounds of thinking it's some messed up lie. And after realizing that it's really Toichi, would probably still be angry, hurt, maybe slightly happy somewhere under that, all those messy feelings of someone who got hit hard by a loss and then learned it was a big lie. Might distance himself/pull away from everything. And even if his motive for being KID wasn't tied into the 'his dad was murdered' story, I doubt he'd want to continue being KID. (Unless it could be written in a way that he claims the identity for himself entirely separate from his dad, maybe with things like Jirokichi's challenges, someone else trying to use KID's name when the thief seemed to have disappeared for a while, general fan response, maybe commentary from his classmates. It could be done well, though maybe not by Gosho.)
Of course, there's also the idea of Toichi being alive, but, say, kidnapped. Or comatose. Or other reason that it was easier to believe he was dead, even without proof, and maybe information about what happened only being found recently. Which would shift the motive from revenge to rescue, and have the bonus of Kaito probably being more okay with still moonlighting as Kid from time to time, especially if Pandora became less about Toichi and more Kaito's personal mission.

What are your thoughts on Nakamori Aoko? And about her role in MK?
-
I'm torn, because her role as a character could be good, but it's insultingly underutilized.
Her personality is fine. Strong side being that she's known Kaito long enough to not get chased off by his real less than stellar personality, and she fiercely supports the police because her father is on the force, giving her an overall 'talk shit get hit' attitude towards criminals. Pretty loyal, too. Vulnerable side stemming from the fact that her father works too much and it seeming that none of the people close to her overtly support her -(which I say in a wordy way because Kaito does support her, but he'd die of embarrassment if he did it in an obvious way)- leaving her alone with some self esteem issues. ...Which may also have something to do with why she's friendly around new people, for better or worse. Altogether, she initially comes across as strong willed, but actually gets hurt easily. She could be a complex character to work with...
If she ever got any focus outside of being a convenient tool for Kaito in his heisting.
The Sun Halo chapters gave a lot of potentially good ideas, and then essentially tossed them into the trash because the writing had to stick to a three chapter format. KID and Aoko kidnapped together by another criminal, KID injured, Akako and Hakuba getting in contact to find them with magic and detective work, etc. But the biggest tease was the idea of Aoko realizing that Kaito might be KID. An idea that's been in MK fans minds for as long as the series has existed, build up by Ginzo suspecting Kaito while Aoko defended her friend, the knowledge that Aoko has a personal dislike of the thief and shows that anger every single time she sees KID, probably the most complex subject regarding Aoko that people like to mull over.
And it's just. Given half a chapter, a few frames of her questioning things in her thoughts, and then dropped. Given a handwave and implied to be ignored.
I could go into other details, but the best way to sum it all up at once is to say that Aoko is someone trying very hard to do and be good, and the narrative works even harder to just constantly cut her down behind her back. She 10000% deserves better than what she's being given in MK, moreso than pretty much any other character, because at the moment she's just a slow burn tragedy with her protag friend lying to her and using her as much as he can get away with, and that he will continue to get away with because of main character privilege.

Is there any hope that Hakuba, Kaito, Heiji gonna have part in taking down BO together with Shinichi, FBI, etc?
Hakuba and Kaito: Absolutely none, as far as canon is concerned. Gosho's used Kaito a bit too much for someone who's been trying to say Kaito won't have anything to do with plot, but even he wouldn't get dragged into the final acts to take on the BO. Hakuba isn't even allowed at KID heists in DC, for some reason, so he never even had a chance at DC plot relevance.
Heiji is a possibility, but as things are now it's unlikely. Shinichi practically forced the FBI to keep him in on their plans with so much direct involvement with the BO. Heiji met Jodie before any government forces were known to be involved with the plot, and has barely touched the big plot outside of being Shinichi's ally.
He's been involved with the edges of the plot, with being Shinichi's support in investigating new and suspicious people, but once the FBI got involved and more government spies got integrated into the story, Heiji's role has downgraded. He's less plot support and more just another side plot with his romance. At best, him getting updated on goings on helps keep the audience up to date on what the characters are working on, but he hasn't really. Been allowed to do much other than be someone who can help Shinichi, specifically. Him being allowed to get involved with the BO directly alongside the FBI just doesn't seem likely as things stand.
Maybe if he get brought back in before the end, he could help with the takedown. Either with a 'here's one of my allies, I think he could be of use' or just accidentally getting on the BO's radar with his support role. (It wouldn't even be that hard, he was with Shinichi in Kyoto when the BO were alerted to Shinichi possibly being alive, and then was the sole voice saying the person on TV was someone else. If the BO does move forward with focusing on Shinichi's possible survival, Heiji should be in trouble. But at the moment, Heiji's moment with that just gave a giant handwave to all that mess and swept it away.)

Is it true that in canon, Kazuha mother and Aoko mother have died?
No, there hasn't been anything about their mothers being dead. With Aoko, anything about her mother is up for debate, though, since nothing has ever been mentioned aside from some advice about zabuton positioning. Whether her mom is dead or she and Ginzo simply divorced or such is completely unknown.
Kazuha's mother, however, is confirmed alive. She's just never been seen.

What do you think Aoko gonna do if she know that Kaito is Kaitou KID?
If Sun Halo gave us anything, it gave us brief insight into just that. Because within the case, while highly suspecting Kaito of being Kid for a short time, she kept her suspicion entirely to herself and was quietly checking the similarities that she noticed between Kaito and KID.
Granted, suspicion isn't knowing, but it gives me the feeling that, had she quietly picked up enough clues to put it together, she'd have a more quiet reaction than people would expect. Probably asking herself why he might be KID, why not tell her, remember how he's reacted to when KID's been mentioned and understand why he wouldn't tell her. And after that, it's debatable if she'd simply wait and watch KID more closely/not react as violently about him, or if she'd drop hints of knowing to Kaito. I doubt she'd confront him about it right away, unless something came up. People tend to make her more reactionary, because of how she gets riled up in the moment by Kaito (or when her dad put Kaito down by insinuating he's a criminal), but she really does tend to take action without voicing her feelings. The 'please go on a date with me' to prove Kaito's innocence, the 'Kaito should ski with someone as good as him, so I'll pair up with someone else who's in the same boat as me', or just. Sun Halo slowly backing up from 'it's the thief who makes my dad work so hard and look stupid and will probably try tricking me too' to 'wait something's wrong, is he hurt' to 'he does feel a lot like Kaito', to the point that she keeps that thought afterwards and assumes Kaito would still be hurt after the heist, and instead of trying to poke and see if he is, she instead tries to be gentle with his suspected injury.
But. I suppose that would be more if she realized the truth for herself.
If we assume something more dramatic, like KID being outed as Kaito irrefutably... after the events of Sun Halo, I still think she'd protect him and basically say that they'll talk about it later. Or if he confesses, she wouldn't be surprised. Might still get emotional, he was hiding it because of how she'd react and it might mean a lot to her that he'd actually admit that he's KID to her directly, and she'd definitely want to know why. But I don't see her ever getting as angry as people think she will. She's angry at KID because she thinks he's just messing with the police, and more directly her own dad, but she has questioned his motives before and would more likely be concerned about her friend more than angry at this thief identity.

if ran and kazuha sees somebody hits genta and ayumi what are they gonna do?
Roughly the same thing as if they saw someone chasing the kids. Whoever is violent is gonna get met with pain or at least the threat of pain.
I know the fandom gets divisive on liking or disliking the DB, but in universe, they are literally just children, and all of the protagonists (that are able to do something about it) would step in if it looked like they were in danger.

do you know what episodes that includes trio osaka ??
-
I'm... not entirely sure who you mean by Osaka trio? I can make a guess that you mean Heiji, Kazuha, and Momiji, since they're the most interesting, but Momiji isn't Osakan, she's from Kyoto.
And if that's the case, then it's episodes 874, 886, 916, 917 (with Momiji not directly interacting with the others until after this point) Movie 21, 927, 928, 1024, 1025. If you look up Momiji's appearances, she really only appears when Heiji and Kazuha are there.
(And just to include some other options that are actually Osakan trios.)
Heizo, Gintaro, and Otaki - 118, 263, 965-968, Movie 17 & 21
The lookalike DB - OVA 3

Do you think Gosho doesn't like ShinRan anymore? The couple is pretty much dead in the manga, and I can't remember ever going this long without the couple having a moment, even if it was about CoRan, Conan's thoughts, etc. which makes it even weirder considering they're dating now. The couple died, and lately I have noticed Gosho quite cold or indifferent in interviews when he is asked about them.
-
Considering he's been gunning on the couple getting together for 20+ years, I'm going to say that he does still want them together. If them not getting any major focus or line referencing their feelings meant anything, it'd simply just be because they don't need as much focus anymore. They're official now, no need to keep hammering it.
But considering the current manga is juggling Heiji romance, Sera/Mary plans, Amuro in general, the Rum suspects and what their identities really are (even if we know who Rum is, the other two still pop up because they haven't been explained yet). And other small things, especially the cases that pop up to help with promoting the movies, because that still happens even if movies and manga aren't supposed to be connected by plot. Taking ShinRan moments out of the rotation doesn't mean he doesn't like the couple. Just that he can push them to the back while he works on other focuses.

when ran and sonoko sees genta mitsuhiko and haibara are chased by someone who's really after them, what're they gonna do???
-
Well. It would depend on if this is a threatening sort of chase or if it's more playful.
But assuming the teens think any of the kids are in danger, Ran would step in to protect. That's kinda her thing.
With Sonoko, it'd depend on specifics. If there's a weapon or anything visible, she'd stay back, probably call the police or someone who can help if she's not too frazzled. If it's just someone angrily chasing the kids with no direct threat that she could see, she might get the chaser's attention to ask what they're doing. If she felt a need to step in.
If they're together, Ran would physically step in, and Sonoko would basically be support from the side, keeping an eye on how things go and ready to either get help or use her attitude/social standing depending on what happens.

Don't you think they're gonna easily catch 1412 if they team up???
-
I mean. Skills-wise, both Chaki and Nakamori have worked together to catch KID, with repeated failures. Akako has single-handedly gotten the upper hand with KID multiple times, and he's been saved by sheer luck. Theoretically, they could catch the lone thief, but since Akako isn't really interested in doing that anymore, I don't think she'd be helping in the first place.
And even if, by some scenario they did all work together (with or without Hakuba), Kaito's protagonist survival luck is so high that he'd be saved regardless. Might get injured, or might have his identity in question at worst, but actually being caught isn't a thing that can happen to him at the moment. Shinichi has his 'everywhere he goes, a murder happens' detective protag power, Kaito has a 'no matter how much trouble I'm in, something will happen to give me the opportunity to escape' criminal protag power. Even if it has terrible consequences, like Kenta's voice throwing Jack off balance.

If Ran knows that someone mysterious is secretly puts Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi into real deep trouble, what is she gonna do???
-
Depends on the context. If someone were intentionally sending the kids out into danger or encouraging them to do some dangerous stuff, of course she'd get real scary real fast and 'encourage' the person to stop. At least one actual warning before doing anything. (Unless it's like the guy who was trying to kill Genta because of being recognized at the barber shop. He'd be out like a light before he could even see her.)
However, if you mean like. Shinichi giving them advice on what to do in whatever situation they end up in, or general situation where the default 'stay out of trouble' just gets ignored by the kids themselves, there's really nothing that could she could do anyway. No one actually puts them in danger except Gosho. Trouble finds them, sometimes they ignore warnings to leave before they could get in real danger, but it's mostly just the bad luck of being in a mystery manga and cases happening around them. There's only so much anyone would have control over.

Forget Kogoro, how hard do you think Sonoko will beat Shinichi's ass if/when she finds out about The Secret
-
Sonoko: You mean, you were that impudent and annoying brat? ...That makes a lot of sense, actually. The only thing that changed is that you were cuter as a brat.
Sonoko: Ran, honey, I know you’re an angel, but you could do so much better than a guy that pretended to be a 7 year old even after he confessed to you. Do you know how weird that is? I don’t care if he was a 7 year old because of reasons, I’m the one trying to process the mental image of the two of you kissing and him suddenly turning tiny. Wth. I’ll make an exception and let you have Kid-sama, they look the same, right?
She would not physically beat him up, Ran can do that on her own if she wanted to. But he would not escape her tongue for other reasons.

Do you think Sonoko & Makoto as a couple are compatible and that their relationship will last forever?
-
From what we’ve seen, yeah. Makoto is loyal to the end, and while Sonoko hasn’t had the best image when it comes to how she is with men, I do think she loves and feels secure with Makoto. She’s been drawn to the playboy types in the past because she liked having their attention, but I think she genuinely appreciates (and is super soft for) the unwavering dedication Makoto has. Personality-wise, they’re the types who don’t seem to work well, but are surprisingly solid when paired together. ‘Forever’ is a bit of a jump from them only being at the point of parent introductions, since you can throw anything and have things either work or not at this stage, but what’s been shown is a pretty good dynamic.

is momiji smarter than shinichi?
-
Overall, probably not, but she’s close. Shinichi has a ton of experience under his belt, seems to have a broader knowledge base in general, and works well with other people. But her observation skills might be better, she definitely knows the Kyoto region better, and could have better intuition about the given situations she finds herself observing.
It’s hard to really tell when we’ve only really seen her in situations where she has at least one advantage. Even when we’re introduced to her making a deduction over the phone, it’s hard to tell if she’s purely better, of if not being there and getting distracted by other things (thus being able to focus on an out of place sound) worked in her favor. How she’d do on a regular ‘we were just here to have fun and now a body has been discovered’ case. She’s good, it’s just hard to tell exactly how good when she’s a special event character that we don’t get to see in a more normal setting.

So I've been seeing it in a lot of fics, and, uh... just to double-check, has Shiho/Haibara been shown with *any* hacking skills in canon?
-
Hmm... I get the feeling people might have that impression from seeing her at a computer many times, but no, she hasn’t displayed any hacking skills. Most of her times she’s used a computer have been for pretty basic reasons (usually looking at data, and any skills that navigating computer menus would fall under), and there’s no indication that she’d need any advanced knowledge of programs or anything to access what she’s needed. At best, she might understand how to do things like basic command lines, if she’s worked with older computers. Given the fluctuating time of the series and technology, you could stretch that her seeming comfortable with computers is better than the usual person at the time, but given she was a scientist who likely learned how to input her data using computers... -shrugs-
I’d say she has average computer skills in general nowadays. At least, as far as manga canon is concerned. Extra material might bump her up to ‘above average’, but I don’t recall anything she’s done with computers or systems in general that would need hacking knowledge. If she has to do something complicated, Shinichi is usually saying what to do next.
(It’d also make more sense in general for Agasa to have the hacker skills, since he’s the one who somehow got paperwork for Haibara to exist in Japan.)

Granted it's exceedingly unlikely (maybe even moreso than the series ending within this decade), do you think Kogoro would be willing to give up the private-eye gig if Yoko Okino or some other richie-rich offered a full-time bodyguard job?
-
If it were Yoko, specifically, I’m sure he’d at least think about it. The only problem is that I don’t think he has the mentality to be a bodyguard for anything long term, or long term full-time jobs in general. His current PI occupation lets him put effort into one job at a time in the short term, and even if it were for his idol, Kogoro has some self awareness about his abilities. At worst, he might want to hop into it, but realize the problem of not having a set end to the job very soon and then worry about how long he could keep it up.
For the average rich person, I think he’d be more willing to say that he’s a detective, not a bodyguard. A ton of money might tempt him, but I think he’d really only have real interest in agreeing if it was someone he knew and either likes or cares about.
