If you're invited to any sort of social gathering or a get-together, always ask before bringing someone else along with you unless it's already been clearly stated that the invitation is a plus one or that you're free to bring along whoever you want.

If it's a small private gathering of just a few people, then the host might have wanted it to stay small or only have it be the specific people they invited and unexpectedly adding more people can be emotionally straining and exhausting or disrupt what they had planned. For both large and small get togethers there can be limited space and when more people show up than expected this can put a strain on space and resources like food and drinks.

watching cleo's pov first for last life was the best decision i ever made for 2 reasons

1: got completely blindsided by the betrayal. didn't know it was coming before watching cleo's pov of it. followed by her going red. i didn't know about any of this before i watched it from her pov which made it all hit so hard

2: while the southlanders discover the boat border glitch early on, cleo doesn't see it until later on in the show, so it felt like a reveal. everything's starting to go to hell and she meets someone who knows a secret trick to get through the barrier, at which point we find out that you can only hang out a little ways past the border and if you try to go any further than that the world itself will begin to kill you. it really hits different finding that out towards the end of the death game as opposed to near the start. it felt like when you're watching a dystopia movie set in a walled-in city and the protagonist and some other character have found their way to the outskirts and said character convinces the protagonist to climb the walls or sit on top of a building and she sees what's on the other side of the city walls in person for the first time and it drives home the post-apocalyptic aspect of the dystopia movie
