ID: three sticky note drawings in black and white of snarling hounds, drawn with a black ink pen. The first is scruffy and drooling with large bewildered eyes and the writing 'any day now'. The second is an angry sighthound with a concentric patterned collar, tongue and nose. The third is abstract and almost buglike with a wide circular eye, unhinged jaw and forked tongue, straining at the end of a leash with the writing 'hate this'. End ID.
Our old friend Polly (16) is staying with us this week. I loved how she looked sunbathing here, so I broke out the chalk pastels.
[ID 1/2] a low angled photo of Polly the old golden cocker spaniel sitting by an open balcony door on a blue towel which matches the hot blue sky glowing in. Behind her is a plant stand containing bright pink and purple trailing tradescantia and a spider plant, with some drooping monstera leaves framing her back in the foreground.
[ID 2/2] a chalk pastel drawing of the same scene, on a small grey sugar paper notepad. I've simplified the shapes and colours around her so that the focus and detail is on her sitting golden form, highlighted with pops of green, yellow, orange and blue. [End ID]
I worry a message wouldn't reach through DMs but I wanted to ask! Would you allow me permission to have one of the more detailed shrimp paintings tattooed upon myself? Oddly enough, I would try to include a signature of yours below it.
YOOOO for real? That would be so cool, you have my blessing! Please update me if you go through with it. Here's a few iterations of my signature :3
I headcannon these two waking up late on Sunday’s and having brunches at bitty cafes where Edgeworth either read’s the paper or plays his hand held games while Phoenix attempts to do the crossword puzzle and just ends up asking Edgeworth for all the answers.
[ID: four pictures of blue ink wash paintings of neocaridina shrimp from my shrimp tank. The first page has gestural and minimalistic studies of swimming shrimp inspired by Qi Baishi's shrimp art. The other three are more detailed studies of single shrimp standing still. The last one is of a shrimp carrying eggs, rendered in scratchy blue biro with a splashy ink wash overlaid. End ID]
ID: an angular line drawing self portrait in black ink pen. I am lying on my side on a couch and taking a photo of my reflection with my phone. My other arm is curved under my body with my hand sticking up awkwardly, wrist limp. My face is squashed into a pillow and I'm covered with a blanket which I've rendered in uneven concentric shapes that spill off the couch. End ID.
[ID: A digital drawing of a spotted merle/harlequin Great Dane with its spots filled in with moss, leaving mossy pawprints on the pavement. It is highlighted by a soft yellow glow in the background. End ID]
I thought you might like these moss-filled pawprints in concrete which I saw earlier. :-)
fbish :)
VD: a short stopmotion animation in red sand on a white lightbox. A ball of sand boils and draws back before shooting forward, leaving a trail of sand and forming the shape of a fish, which wiggles off screen.
