Myofascial self-release as a method to improve sleep! A high-quality sleep has a huge positive impact on our health, happiness, well-being and in all aspects of our life in general. Insomnia is a symptom that is mainly due to stress, consciously or unconsciously, that we carry in our body. Once stress prevents sleep, the danger is that we enter in a viscious cycle and that the myofascial syndrome of chronic tension appears. Chronic tension can affect all skeletal muscles in the body and, therefore, any muscle can have myofascial trigger points. Myofascial self-release is a manual therapy technique that reduces restrictive barriers or fibrous adhesions between the different fascial layers. Healing touch, deep tissue selfmassage and the whole range of yoga micro-stretches have as main objective to relax tension, increase the blood flow, relieve pain and improve the quality of sleep.
