Idea for a Marina fanfiction. What’s about Maya pushing Carina away like in the episode of this week but she comes back to her days later (Carina gave her space) and apologize and all and she wants to see a therapist for her problem with her father and wants Carina to be there with her at her first session 😊

When Maya was done yelling, Carina felt defeated. She knew she wasn’t necessarily yelling AT her but more at the situation and Carina just happened to be in the cross fire. Carina decided it was best to give Maya some space to cool down. She squeezed Maya’s thigh and then got up and walked out of the blonde’s office. Carina left the station and headed for her car. Before driving away, she sent Maya a quick text.

“Hi bella, I just want you know that I am here for you and I am not going anywhere. I understand what you are going through so I am going to give you some space but when you are ready to talk or in need of a hug, I am here. Talk to you soon, love. Yours, Car xx.”

Carina sighed and drove home.

Maya heard her phone go off so she checked it. She noticed a text from Carina and opened it. Once she read it, her eyes began to water. She ran the last couple of hours over and over again in her head, not understanding why she yelled in Carina’s face when she was only trying to be there for her. Carina was amazing and Maya didn’t think she deserved her one bit. Plus Maya knows that Carina isn’t in the habit of fixing broken people so she might have just scared off the one person she loves the most.

Maya was still heavily inside in her head when the alarm went off. She quickly collected herself and met her team at the trucks. She immediately threw all thoughts of her dad, mom and Carina to the back of her head. Eyes forward, she thought.

It’s been three days since Maya’s melt down and Carina still hasn’t heard from the girl. She was beginning to get worried but knew if anything had happened to Maya, she would be the first one called.

Carina sat in her living room with a glass of white wine in hand flipping through an Italian magazine when there was a knock on her door. She really hoped it was Maya.

When she opened the door and saw her sweet Maya standing in front of her, it was like a weight was lifted off of her. Maya was drenched from the rain and her cheeks lined with tears. Carina immediately pulled the smaller girl into her apartment and hugged her.

“Carina I-“ Maya tried to say she was sorry but Carina cut her off.

“Shh, it’s okay bella. We’ll talk later, but now lets get you warm.” Carina responded.

Carina pulled Maya into her bathroom and started to take off Maya’s soaked clothes. She wrapped the girl in a towel while she filled the bathtub with warm water. Maya didn’t like her water hot as it reminded her of the flames she runs into everyday so Carina always made sure the water was Maya’s perfect temperature. Carina always got it right. Once it was filled, Carina took the towel off Maya and helped her get in. Carina could see Maya’s body physically relax in the water.

Carina was about to walk away when Maya grabbed her wrist.

“You’re not going to leave me in here all by myself, right?” Maya whined.

Carina smiled, “If you want me to join you bella, I will.”

Maya nodded.

Maya watched as Carina took off her clothes. God, how does Carina make taking off clothes look so sexy, she thought to herself.

“You’re staring,” Carina said.

“Well my girlfriend is hot as hell, I’m not going to stare at the wall while you’re literally getting naked in front of me babe,” Maya teased.

Carina laughed that big infectious laugh that Maya loved.

“I’m glad to see you’re becoming your old self again, bella.”

Maya just smiled and moved over so Carina could sit behind her in the bath. Once Carina was settled, she reached for Maya’s shoulders and leaned Maya’s back against her chest. Carina slowly ran her fingers up and down Maya’s arms while Maya hummed.

They sat in the bathtub for about another 30 minutes just enjoying each other’s company and touch before the water started to get cold. Carina kissed Maya’s shoulder before hopping out and grabbing them both towels. Carina held open a towel for Maya to wrap herself in and then Carina wrapped one around herself.

Once dried off and changed, both wearing just underwear and large t-shirts, they sat on Carina’s bed. Carina just looked at Maya and Maya knew that was Carina’s let’s talk look. Maya took a big breathe while Carina held her hand.

“I know you’re going to tell me not to apologize but I’m sorry. I should’ve handled the situation better and should not have taken it out on you especially when you were only trying to comfort me. It wasn’t fair to you and you deserved better than that and I’m going to spend all my time making it up to you. As for the abuse situation, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately and I want to go to therapy.”

Maya blurted out the last sentence so quickly that Carina almost didn’t understand what the blonde was trying to say.

“Maya, I know what it’s like to be in your situation because I was in your situation. Living with my dad was hell. You didn’t need to apologize but I forgive you regardless. And yes, I think therapy is a good idea. I’m so proud of you Maya.” Carina smiled.

“I think I’m going to go to the therapist that came to the station a few weeks ago after Rigo died but I want you at the first session with me. I don’t trust myself to go there alone. I need you.” Maya said.

“Of course I’ll come with you my love. I’m here for you always. I’m honored that you trust me enough to be in that room with you. I’ve gone to therapy for my abuse too and it’s really scary so I’ll be there holding your hand or rubbing circles on your back, whatever you need, bella.”

“I love you, Carina.” Maya smiled.

“I love you too, Maya. Always.”

After that conversation, Maya was worn out so she fell back onto the bed and Carina quietly laughed but fell back onto the bed as well. They both looked into each other’s eyes and smiled before becoming overcome with sleep.

I finished Station 19 yesterday and Maya is by far my favourite character (followed by Travis and Vic) and I love her and Carina together. Maya has a panic attack at work

“Captain, I was just going over the paperwork for today’s fire and-“ Andy stopped after seeing Maya’s current state.

Maya was in her office standing over her desk, sweaty and breathing very hard with her hand on her chest. Her face visibly red.

“Maya, are you okay? What’s wrong?”

Maya looked up and saw Andy and started to wave her away but Andy wasn’t going anywhere. She only walked closer to the blonde.

“What can I do?” Andy asked.

“Car- Call Carina. Please.” Maya handed Andy her phone.

“O-okay” Andy quickly found Carina’s contact and pressed call.

Carina picked up almost immediately. “Hi bella, I’m almost done with charts and then I’ll be heading over.”

“Carina, this is Andy. Something is wrong with Maya.”

“What what’s wrong with her? Is she okay?” Carina replied with worry in her voice.

“I think she’s having some sort of panic attack. I’ve never seen her like this.” Andy said while staring at Maya not sure what to do.

“Give Maya the phone please.”

Andy handed the phone to Maya and Maya put it to her ear rather quickly.”

“Carina.” Maya whimpered.

“Maya, it’s okay, you’re having another panic attack. Remember what I taught you. Breathe.” Carina said very calmly.

“I can’t. It’s so hard.” Maya whispered.

“I know it’s hard but you can do it bella, breathe, do it for me. In and out.”

Carina could hear Maya starting to breathe on the phone and she started to relax.

“Good girl. Keep breathing.”

Once Andy saw that Maya was started to calm down, she left to give her some privacy.

“Carina, I-I’m sorry. I-“ Maya was interrupted by Carina.

“No, stop apologizing. I’m here for you and I’ll always be here for you Maya. We do need to figure out what’s triggering these panic attacks though. I’m getting in my car right now and I’m coming to the station.”

“You don’t need to do that, I’m fine.”

“I know you Maya, you’re not fine.”

After a bit more back and forth, Maya finally allowed Carina to come. They got off the phone when Carina pulled into the station’s parking lot.

When Carina walked through the station doors, Andy was standing at reception on a phone call. She waved at her and Carina waved back turning to the captain’s office.

Carina slowly opened the door and noticed Maya wasn’t sat at her desk. She closed the door and checked the small room with a bed for the captain to sleep in. Maya was laying on her side facing the wall. Carina leaned against the wall just looking at her girlfriend before she decided to sit on the bed next to Maya.

Carina sat down and rubbed Maya’s back. Maya turned around and gave Carina a small smile.

“Join me?” Maya said so quietly Carina almost didn’t hear her.

“Of course.” Carina put her bag down, took off her jacket and shoes and got into the bed with Maya. Maya instantly moved her head to resting on Carina’s chest and her arm wrapped around Carina’s waist.

Carina kissed Maya’s head and untucked Maya’s shirt from her pants so she could rub small circles on her bare back. Something that always relaxed Maya.

Maya’s eyes grew heavy and she fell asleep.
