Hello there, everyone. As you all know, Ticci Toby is a character that will always hold a place in my heart. He is like the old jumper in the back of a wardrobe - always there, and always comfy. He is like Spiderman - a friend, a comfort, a familiar presence in many an au and fanfic alike. Teenagers and adults know of his name. He is practically a household name at this point - not really, but you get the meaning.

Of course, with how wide-spread his appeal is, there would likely be a few different ways to interpret his character, whether it be in aus, fanfics, and any other sort of media. Today, I feel like discussing the various ways in which I have taken his character in my works. 

First and foremost, the oldest work on Toby that I have is something on my blog, @demonicus-familia. Or, the Levi Au. This began as nothing more than Tim Wright having a demon mama and became so much, so much more. The original story was based on headcanons from the lovely @cat-vase (thank you for inspiring the works). It then quickly expanded in my crazy little brain. I came up with ideas for the MH guys, and then Toby came into the mix. Toby, the step-brother of Tim. Toby's character arc involves a lot of interactions from other characters. His friend Carson, for instance, helps him realise that he needs to mature at his own pace. Carson had to grow up too quickly; Toby has the time to become a man. This au has planted him in my heart, eternally, as a softy. 

We then move onto a mashup au entitled @angels-and-demons. This crosses over Creepypasta and the Percy Jackson series. Nico Di Angelo and Toby are married and raising a little child together. It just delves into very domestic issues and is very slice-of-life in nature. Part of this is the reason why I love it. It is also because Teddy is a freaking adorable little bab. He is a toddler and is entirely non-verbal. Still, his parents understand him completely. It is made explicitly clear that both of his fathers are neurodivergent in some capacity, and Teddy is also. Toby and Nico do play off of each other in very sweet ways. At points, Nico comes across as the more serious one, but there are moments where his tenderness shines through. There are also times when Toby steps up and understands that he has to be the one to take charge. It is a lot like life in that way - there is no one person in control of everything. It is all give and take. 

Finally, we get to @eldritch-hall-asylum. The newest blog I made with Toby. In this blog, Toby has tourette's, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, and PTSD from a car crash that he was involved in. While not much has been done in regards to Toby yet, there have been a few instances where we have gotten to see some deeper facets of his character. For example, in a chapter where he talks to Doby about their shared disorder, their tics play off of each other. They both understand the comedy that can come from it, but they also understand the downsides of what they struggle with. 

In spite of how different all of the different versions of the characters are, there are quite a few similarities between them that unite them all. For example, all of them are fans of musicals. However, the way that all of them sound in my mind are drastically different. For example, Angels Toby sounds quite a bit like Orpheus from Hadestown. Toby in the Levi au sounds like Ron Stoppable. It contains the chaotic and fun energy that Toby seems to radiate. Finally, Eldritch Hall Toby sounds like Michael Cera in the Lego Batman Movie. It is a very wholesome voice that matches the sweet nature of the character. 

Of course, this is just me rambling on about a character that has brought me comfort for the past six years (god, I feel old).

Due to the character of Toby's mother being so... lacking in the original story, I made an au where Connie is a chaotic bisexual.

She ends up marrying a powerful demon and raising four kids with her (the demon adopted Tim/Masky who is a goopy boy). She leaves her husband when she finds out she's pregnant with Toby and then a few months later, starts dating the demon lady.

It is a chaotic au filled with fluff and slice of life adventures, along with a heaping ton of angst on the side (*cough, cough* Tim's adoption *cough* the demon's half human son *cough, cough* Toby's boyfriend *cough*).

Also, Slender and his brothers are adopted by a pair of dragons and raised among them, with their son.

Sorry for sending a long ask, but it is the only way to truly capture the chaos.

"Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between," Miranette smiled as she stood on the stage. "I welcome you tonight to our senior year musical showcase. The kids have been working so hard on this, and I know that it will be an enjoyable experience for everyone."

She walked over to the left. "Our first performance is from Jenna Seviath and Tobias Demonica, who will be singing "A cautionary tale" from Mean girls!"

The audience whooped in excitement at that announcement." Anyway, on with the show."

With that, Mira slid backstage and Toby and Jenna took stage. The band started to play their music as the lights dimmed. 

"It's a cautionary tale of fear and lust and pride," Jenna stared out at the sea of eyes before her.  "Based on actual events where people died!" 

"No-one died," Toby consoled the audience. "But how far would you go to be popular and hot? Would you resist temptation?" 

"No you would not," Jenna smiled. "Just admit it."

"Sometimes mean is what you are," both harmonised "Mean is easier than nice, and though mean can take you far, maybe this will make you think twice."

"Kick! Layout! Fosse!" Toby yelled as he acted out the movements. 

"This is a cautionary tale about corruption and betrayal!" both sang. 

"And getting hit by a bus!" Toby chimed. 

"You can't buy integrity at the mall," the young reptilian female sang. "It's not for sale."

"Nice," Toby smiled. 

"Thanks," Jenna chuckled.

The audience let out a laugh at her characters arrogance and self-confidence.

"This is a cautionary tale!" both teenagers chorused. 

They both took a bow as they concluded their ballad.
