this post really summed it up, but man it's just...

This show really has Daniel doing/giving free stuff for/to Johnny since the very first episode and it's just the most insane thing they've done textually in my opinion

Now it's just canon that Daniel consistently does nice things to and for Johnny becauuuuuuuuuuseeeeeee.........???? sure he's a nice guy who looks out for people and I know that technically we see it the most intensely with Johnny because

1. Johnny is the other lead

2. Johnny is a trash raccoon man

But what you're left with is scene after scene of Daniel doing thoughtful things for Johnny of varying intensity, and Johnny not clocking how much he's being given and being afraid of Daniel taking things from him, because he can't imagine that Daniel would care about him like that without strings attached...

but Daniel does, he just... does... over and over...

Y'all remember my headcanons? (Probably not) but I am writing a fanfic that starts of with the events from Karate Kid I in Johnny's perspective, it's a little AU, because I basically add a lot more hurt (sorry (not sorry)) and now I am unsure where it should end.

In my headcanons, I let Johnny realize his feelings as a teen, but he never acted on it and then they see each other in Cobra Kai and well in the headcanons it was an open ending, but I would of course make it a happy one in the fic

Or, since I am in a teen Lawrusso mood recently, I could write it that Johnny does act on his feelings or something.

Johnny hears him shuffling around and playing music and banging pots and pans around, wafting all these intriguing scents around the hall as soon as he bangs his way back into his apartment at the same time every morning, while johnny's pissed bc he's trying to sleep (until he starts falling asleep to the sound). Then he notices it's been absent a few days and it sounds weirdly quiet except for the radio and some sneezes so loud they make it through the wall, and he leaves him some tupperware full of blue box mac and cheese, feeling a little dumb, but a week later, that's how he finds out his neighbor is Daniel Larusso at his door with a red nose and starry eyes and Johnny's tupperware in hand filled something that smells amazing
