he’s so excited to be a dad, will bring it up to anyone who talks to him. anytime he comes home he has something new for the baby. when she’s a toddler he becomes the world’s biggest enabler, he literally can’t say no to her. he’s just so weak when it comes to her. but when it comes down to it and it’s serious, you know you can count on him.

kuroo’s phone may as well be a museum dedicated to the two of you. ever since he found out you were having a baby, he started taking pictures of EVERYTHING. the good and the bad. the only thing he doesn’t have any documentation of is her birth. the first time he saw his daughter, he was too awed to think about anything else, let alone taking pictures of all things.

and he’s so careful with her. she’s the most precious, most fragile thing he’s ever held, ever had to care for, and he thinks that maybe he was made for this, because he would do anything for his little girl.

he takes time off when she’s born, paternity leave (this is my fantasy and in it paternity leave is plentiful), and he spends all his time with the two of you, tending to you and keeping you from tiring yourself out with her.

he’s one lucky mf because somehow he’s there for all her milestones, when she rolls over for the first time, when she crawls, when she sputters out gurgles that he swears are “dada,” when she walks.

she gets sick when she’s almost two years old, and he’s a mess, but he keeps it to himself and allows you to lean on him and into your emotions, since you so often have to be the more reasonable of the two of you and you don’t get the opportunity to feel all the way very often when it comes to her. so he stays your rock, takes care of the two of you when she’s in the hospital, let’s you be the one controlled by her for a change. and when she’s all better, that’s when he finally let’s himself feel everything he pushed down for your sake, and this time you’re his rock.

for her second birthday he insists on a big birthday bash for his baby, and you insist that “tetsurou, she won’t remember it, there’s no point,” but you don’t fight him too hard because you know you’re both still reeling from her hospital scare and he needs to put his pent up worry and care somewhere, so you do end up having a huge party for her (if you’ve seen new girl, imagine the party schmidt and cece threw for their kid). it’s mostly your adult friends all just fawning over her and buying her gifts. kenma still insists he doesn’t like children, but you know better when you see how gently he holds her. there’s also been an abundance of packages containing various baby things you would never splurge on showing up on your doorstep, but kenma insists he knows nothing about that and would never waste his hard earned money on your little brat.
