Succumbing to a chronic illness, but considered the "older brother" of the rest of the orphans at Celyn House, Emile, along with Paulina and Mikhail find a story book thats causes its contents to become true if one writes in it. Emile finds himself in the book already written as the sole ruler of a happy but impoverished kingdom from far away. Cautious, thoughtful and rational, Emile is constantly reminding Paulina and Mikhail to be responsible with the power of the book.

Clever, straight-forward, and stubborn, Nalin has roused quite the controversy and commotion surrounding the low-born, traveling healer that brazenly dons a bright red curse mark that runs over his left eye. However after treating their ailments and injuries, his patients scarcely have any ill-intent in their words and quickly begin singing his praises. His reputation preceding him, Nalin soon catches the eye of Whist, the King of the Ethrune Forest. The haughty, self-absorbed King invites the healer to his kingdom, to treat the worsening, chronic disease that ails him. This spurns a turn of events that lead to an unlikely, budding romance between the uncanny healer and the vainglorious Lord.

As a young, spritely and tenacious cello player, studying music in Berlin, Taavi was abducted on his way back to his dorms late at night, and shoved into the world of human trafficking. Taavi was proven a to be a tough one to break, as he left his abusers with many scratches and bruises, not willing to go without a fight. Noticing his spitfire personality, a mysterious organization found him to be a suitable candidate to be tranformed into cybernetically enhanced being. He was given the abilities and enhanced senses of a cat, with swift reflexes and and sharp dexterity. Not long after this change, he managed to escape with the aid of some other cyborgs gone rogue.
