I had fun with Lasaraleen last week and her designs pushed me to rework Aravis and Shasta to have a more cohesive Arab (Calormen) style and I couldn’t leave Corin out of the fun

long time, no blog (aka an update with me :))

hello! i hope you are all doing well. around this time in 2019 i made some big changes in my life. frankly, i was in a terrible place. i was very lost with no direction. i’m glad to say my life is very different now. this is just going to be a comparison of my problems then and how i am now and what i’m still working on. maybe this can encourage you if you are in a bad place. it does get better. i’m gonna share my 2023 goals :)

problem 1: no direction- up to this point i had no idea what i wanted to do with my life. i floated in school changing my major like every year. 2019 is when i made the decision to transfer schools and go into something completely different. i finally graduated this past may and have my dream job. it took me forever, but that’s okay!

problem 2: no solid relationships- i really struggled making friends in this point of life and my high school friends and i had stopped talking. i was so so lonely. since this time, i really worked on initiating and being more vulnerable with others. i have made some GREAT friends since. and one of my high school friends have come back into my life. i have a very solid group of friends who i love and adore. and i’ve built my acquaintance circle as well.

problem 3- no boyfriend insecurities- ms. swift said it best when she said “like I'd be saved by a perfect kiss.” that was my view on getting a boyfriend. he would fix my loneliness. not true! i just recently came out of a heartbreak but i am glad it happened. i learned a lot. it also has driven me closer to God. in 2019 i was working on being satisfied in Him. that’s something i’m still working on. i learned that i have a ton of trouble giving God control. i also have had to deal with the fact that my life doesn’t look like how i imagined. my timeline is not God’s and i’m working on being okay with that.

problem 4: couldn’t cook- can cook enough!

what i’m working on

my word this year is going to be blossom. i love plants and the imagery so i’m going with that. i’m in a much more stable place than i was in 2019. i just want to thrive where i am. i want to keep working on my friendships and do my best at my job. i really just want to thrive and pick up habits and hobbies that make me the best version of myself

i have been working on being more sustainable. my goal is to buy the majority of my clothes from a thrift store. and even at the thrift store, i don’t want to buy it just to buy it

my far off goal is to wake up early in the mornings to work out and go to bed early. this goes against who i am at more core so the likely hood of this ever happening is slim. a girl can dream though
