We saw this alot with incoming freshman who spend their 11th and 12th grades during a pandemic. They missed a key social development time that student normally get. Even those who were loners like me, you pick up things just by existing in real life spaces. We had to have way more talks than normal about what was appropriate and what was not when talking to peers.

I’m genuinely worrying about people whose main source of social development comes like 100% from these incredibly insular and entirely unregulated internet spaces. Like this isn’t even a “technology is bad and kids these days don’t learn how to talk to one another” post, it’s a “basic conflict resolution skills and the practical realities of interacting with human beings are the sort of things you probably shouldn’t learn in an unstructured environment, populated largely by antisocial weirdos, and when you do develop your interpersonal skills entirely in that environment, you’re going to have a fast and rude awakening when you finally do have to apply those skills outside the tiny toxic community you cultivated them in and find that they don’t transfer well to classroom discussions or dates or job interviews or having a roommate”

It’s so funny yeah Shen Yuan hates Shen Jiu but he adores his mei mei that’s his perfect little sister who can do no wrong whose the only one in the family who watches anime with him, spam texts him with memes he doesn’t always quite understand but laughs at anyways, a perfect angel!. (To be clear only Shen yuan thinks of her this way to everybody else she is terrifying)

Shen Jiu and Luo Binghe are in a stand off because Shen Jiu can’t risk Shen yuan not loving him for what he did to lbh and lbh doesn’t know if Shen yuan will forgive him for what he did to Shen Jiu so whenever Shen yuan wants his two favorite people to hang out it’s all great until he leaves the room and it’s like a wwe showdown.
