This... this is what inspired your interest in helping to preserve the rainforest. And then helping the environment... which in turn led to you pursuing chemical engineering in the first place!
Logan must have been on top of the world in college, huh?
(The jacket was a gift from Roman in exchange for ceding time to theater. Blue and orange are University of Florida's colors. )

Logan's biggest fear is not being seen as a serious person in part because he believes that serious and silly are diametrically opposed and if he's seen as silly he won't- or more accurately to his behavior won't deserve to be listened to. However, he often reacts to that fear by lashing out at others who he views as allowed to be silly in ways that he isn't. It's really obvious that Patton occassionally sets him off on purpose namely about puns, but that's not when he lashes out or is generally dismissive of him. He's dismissive when Patton doesn't fit his idea of 'serious enough.' In this essay-

Happy halloween!
I wanted to do something for the occasion, and whatās scarier then being left alone? :3
I think both Roman and Virgil have the same fear of being cast aside and/or forgotten in one level or another, maybe one day theyāll talk about it, but for now the idea was just really fun to draw!
I hope you had/are having a great halloween and a good day/nightā”

im craving logan angst of any kind, please, i want to S O B
iām still listening to the playlist on repeat as we speak, so letās delve into some of my Thoughts and Feelings about the Logan angst to be gleaned from that
iāve made quite a few comics over this particular matter, but iām still so deeply interested in Loganās relationship to character!Thomas prior to his switch from Science to Entertainment, so. thatās gonna be my focus, k thx, sorry
you see, hereās the thing: when he was a science major, Thomas had to have relied on Logan for... a lot. science is very cool, but itās also hard! you have to do so many labs and write so many reports and, in my experience, that sort of rigorous schedule leaves very little time for getting creative
having said that, Logan -- he had to have been pretty close to Thomas. closer, iād assume, than most of the other sides were
and when Thomas got his degree? i can only imagine that Logan was ecastatic. proud of Thomas, maybe even proud of himself. and i can only imagine that he was excited for Thomas to move on to big and better things with Logan by his side.
except Thomas changed plans. he decided to go into entertainment -- decided he didnāt need Logan anymore, not the way that he used to. suddenly, Thomas was spending all of his time withĀ Roman. he was relying on Roman to get things done, brushing off Loganās input and effectively -- well. (Thomas was leaving him behind.)
and Logan was bitter. obviously, he was bitter. but he was also... hurt? wounded. jealous and sad and all of these other emotions that he wasnāt supposed to be
Thomas used to come to Logan with bright eyes and questions about the universe. now, he came to him for schedules that he and the others would roll their eyes over and complain about and fail to follow.
Logan remained necessary, because Logic is necessary, has always been necessary, but he also became unwanted. unloved. (āyouāre the least popular character, and you know it,ā Virgil says, and everyone laughs).
and that -- that right there has to be the worst fucking feeling in the world: knowing that you are important, but not respected, or admired, or even liked. to know that he canāt escape (because without Logic, Thomas wouldnāt be able to function, and Logan doesnāt want to do that to him, doesnāt want to leave him incapacitated like that), but to also know that appearing time and time again in order to help solve Thomasās problems will only leave him open to ridicule and condemnation.
as far as Logan knows, heās trapped in a room with a room of people who hate him at worst or tolerate him at best, and one of those people, mind you, used to be his Best Friend
God. when i look at it that way, itās no wonder that Logan would rather feel nothing at all

Also are we going to gloss over Patton calling Janus his bestie? Like yes, its cute and charming but think of the implications. How bad are his relationships right now that he considers the guy who claims he mistook him for a trash can his bestie? Especially since Virgil was his bestie for so long??? Sir are you doing good????/
