Touya is the king of sneaky kindness.

To be fair he had to be, Keigo being his boyfriend and all.

It was a bit of a sore spot, just how little Keigo knew about living a normal life, so Touya had to get creative.

Whenever Keigo gets sent to the grocery store, Touya always makes sure to write the grocery list in order with the layout of the grocery store so he knows Keigo doesn’t have to feel lost and stupid.

Whenever Touya has to spend a day outside of the apartment and Keigo has a day off, he makes sure to have some chores for Keigo lined up, making sure he doesn’t feel like he’s sitting around being useless.

When they’re out eating at restaurants, Touya always makes sure to check their menues up front, so he knows that they have options for Keigo’s preferred diet.

Keigo still carries some shame about that, but they’re working on it.

Whenever Keigo gets really comfortable and lets his bird instincts out, like his bird noises and wing movements to convey emotion, Touya knows exactly what they mean, and responds to it like he would normal speech.

He only jokes lightheartedly about the molting, because he knows that if he didn’t say anything at all that would be way more suspisious.

Because when it comes to them, banter and lighthearted insults are just another part of their love language.

Just like Touya’s secret kindness.

In reality, it’s not half the secret Touya thinks it is, Keigo is nothing if not observant, but he appreciates it so much that he will never have the heart to let on that he knows.

At least for the time being.
