HOW TO TURN BETA OFF

okay for everyone that doesn’t know how to turn the beta off….

here’s how :

this will open your ‘new post’ editor :

now look up and to the right:

see that purple bubble that says BETA and the green slider button next to it? 

Click the slider button. the ‘new post’ editor will load and revert back to the current version of the ‘new post’ editor. and it will stay OFF until u turn it back on again by again going into the new post editor and again pressing the slider button to turn it ON.

This is NOT an update. 

This is a BETA. 

aka an update they WANT to make but are in the phase of getting feed back and seeing what glitches and the like occur. 

NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO GET THE BETA .

Stuff is NOT going to always work right on BETA either. that’s half the point of a BETA being launched. so make sure you’re not making a post that you really CANT reproduce easily when using it.

for instance it appears BETA has a glitch where its limited character number for some account’s posts and not for others. its not supposed to do this. I have personally made the tumblr team aware of it. but if you experience this issue please let them know about it.

editable reblog psa:

drafting a post and editing from your drafts page will bring back the xkit editable reblog function as of right now (feb. 5th) tumblr might be pushing this new change through the entire site eventually but this method is working for me right now an alt should be available from xkit developers by next week:
