I cannot stress this enough. How strongly I feel connected to Sousou no Frieren. Particularly to Flamme. 2nd character after Bell Cranel that I relate to. Yeah I am well aware of how weird it is. They don't have anything in common at all. Still I relate to them. Anyway, let's just focus on Frieren and how great of a anime it really is. It's the only anime where they have used Time and its actual power. In all other anime it is like fight against evil has just begun and everything is falling into the place out of nowhere. And by weird coincidence of fate and luck the main protagonist and his friends are successful in saving the world. It's not like there is no pre planning and other characters in past laying some sort of base for protagonist to win. But it all feels unnatural or far fetched. Maybe I am not finding the right words. But it is not as perfect as of Frieren. Because in Frieren, Flamme not only prepares Frieren to fight the Demon King when time is right but also she keeps planting those little barriers over trees just so when that tree grows that barrier will grow with it and humans will have a stronghold or a safe haven to survive against the Demon King and his army. Does anyone here realize how great depiction that is? You cannot force the flow of Time. You cannot win against something that has grown through the passage of time. Because Time itself is its strength, no one and nothing can overcome its absoluteness. That is why her barriers are so unparalleled. She foresaw that. Ge-fuckin-nius. Also she teaches Frieren trick that can only be mastered by her because she is elf and she has what the enemy doesn't have, Time. Like I said, something that has been trained and perfected throughout the Time is unbeatable. You just cannot win against someone who has been around more than you. She leveraged only absolute and obvious thing, Time. She foresaw it. She fucking realized that it was not her job to beat the Demon King just because she was a singularity. She took a different less obvious path. She saw that it was not the Time yet. Humanity needed more time to be capable of standing against their enemy. She left what was not in her hand to the Time and did what she could do. She took advantage of her misery of being born in the pre-matured Time. Mind blowing take.

And these are just logical reasons. I haven't even dived into my personal, emotional connections to the anime and Flamme. I will leave out the details of how Flamme and my role is almost same. But here is most eerie thing I have related with Flamme, her favorite spell. Spell that creates field of Flowers. Well I can't produce enough proof that it isn't something that I started to relate with just because it was shown to me that way. But I have corroborative evidence. I loved flower fields since I was child. I have a really fond memory from my childhood of a Sunflower field in front of our house. The morning scene of those flowers bathing in orange sunlight has been engraved in my mind. I still have very much fascination towards flower fields, maybe everyone has that. Other than that last time I really wanted to learn a jutsu, was of Hashirama, Forrest creation. Not exactly same, I know. But not so different or distant either. Not to mention I literally was brought to tears when Serie was talking about Flamme's favorite spell.

Image of Anya in her 20's keep coming in my mind.

A cold, mature queen like character. Because of her ability she would be so much wise till then. She would have plenty of time to comprehend human nature and figuring out general psychology. She would be so skilled at figuring out how a person's mind work. Their thought process depending on their personality and nature. Because of that she would be almost unparalleled. But she would be like a dark behind the curtain mastermind. As she is not allowed to let people know about her ability. Only Becky will be aware of her ability, I think. Only Becky would know Anya truly Because she would always be by her side as she grows up. She will be there where Anya will be at the depth of despair when she finds reality of this world and she will be there as she watches her slowly clawing her way and finding strength to endure the loneliness and pressure in that deep valley. She will be there to watch her struggle to find the right answer to the existence. She will be there to experience her depressions and excitements and endless repetition of that cycle. And finally when Anya reaches to the conclusion of what is her purpose in this world she will be there to start walking towards the light once again. And that is why she will be only one knowing Anya's true worth. And weight of her every word and every action.

And then Anya will take on the quest of this world, to finally bring humanity to its rightful state.

Ah, this rest on her laps. That light yellow, like asafoetida. Those white frills. Sleeves rolled back to forearm. Cross sitting on the floor. While my head on her legs. That smooth fabric of her top and smell of detergent, grass and housework all mixed together. While she is still keeping her hands busy in her work, rested on my head, moving frequently keeping me half awake. Listening to the chatter. Sun is shining bright. Wind is making its way through the leaves, in the shadow of rustling. Busy surrounding. Rebuilding and pulling together. People. People who know me. Passing by. Making sure not to wake me up and not letting me fall asleep.

Just letting me rest there in peace among their presence.

Battle has ended. Tsunamis are just becoming little ripples now. Dark clouds are slowly making space for the sunshine. Colours are getting back to the canvas.

And I am here just astonished by how she just turns into a simple town girl. Not so long before she was just there beside me fighting, wounded, catching her breath, soaked in sweat and blood.

Because how could she, she is a mother. And she can't just abandon her children, even though she is almost sure they are already dead.
