Me sitting here like “yeah that’s right, Dob wished for a dream wedding in the wizard’s book and Merilwen was the one that objected to his marriage to Katie Pearlhead at said wedding” and feeling validated in it all.
(And while I always recommend this, I would like to add “please full-view” to this one since the internet doesn’t show landscape pieces at their best.)
I made this lil guy! This is what Corazon says to Prudence just before he burns down a building for her in Elf Hazard, and something about it was painfully romantic even though it was about arson and Andy had those godawful mutton chops.
My cross stitch program’s color fidelity is laughable and I haven’t checked it against actual floss, so I don’t really have suggested colors apart from DMC 310 and 725. Follow your bliss.
Not bad for an afternoon’s work I think! I have an idea for a Blades in the Dark one but it’s going to be much more involved; on the bright side, unlike this one I won’t have to freehand the whole thing.
So I know that Ellen saying “we all knew this was coming” when she objected to the wedding was her talking OOC BUT I really like the idea that Merilwen had been steadily dropping unsubtle hints that she was going to object in the lead up to the wedding.
Like, Prudence and Merilwen are having a spa day and she’s just like “Prudence, you don’t agree with this, right?”
“Nope, but what are we going to do about it?”
“We could object during the ceremony.”
“Like Dob would listen to that.”
Corazon is practicing his speech and she’s just like “Don’t practice too hard, someone might object and the wedding might not happen.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, this speech is a work of art and will be given no matter what.”
Egbert gets the role of the officiant and she spends fifteen minutes insisting he go over the right with her making sure there is an objection part.
And then it happens in the wedding and everyone stares at her in shock and she’s just like “I told you I was going to do this, why are you surprised?”
It was my friend’s birthday this month, and I commissioned Hilmark_cards to do art for it!! This is from “The Astor Gambit” and is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite scenes in the series.
I don’t know what would be funnier-- Barnaby and Edvard going on a job together and Edvard having to (reluctantly) admit Barnaby isn’t hopeless
OR
Edvard and Barnaby never going on a job together and Edvard just watching as everyone else starts to realize he’s not hopeless before deciding that clearly they are all going insane.
