The only times I look at kudos are either my own fics to determine what direction the next one should be or one or two when a tag or a fandom was really big and I had to start somewhere. Most of my fandoms are on the small side, so I consume 99% of their fics anyway and mark my favourites, no matter the kudos. But regardless, everyone is entitled to their own way of enjoining ao3 as long as they stay respectful towards reader and writer.

I do not want to bitch on OP's post but dear lord this is vile 😭😭😭 I have stats hidden on AO3 and I simply read summaries, check tags and decide if the fic sounds interesting or not??? Like a fic might have very little kudos but it might still be something I happen to enjoy waahhh do these people not go to library and just browse books bc the name sounds interesting to them???? Do you need other people to decide what to enjoy???
