Personally I love the idea that Martin's general insecurities and poor self-esteem apply to a lot but somehow managed to completely avoid body image issues. His looks are one thing he's 100% in. Tim got him to drink two (2) glasses of wine and completely unprompted he told them, "yeah my dad walked out when I was eight but I can't say he never did anything for me. After all it was him that blessed with me this dump truck ass, arms like a bear, and thighs like tree trucks. So. You know. Pretty much a draw."

i already yelled to my friends about this but like. i love how physical it was when jon killed jonah magnus. i've thought for a while that it was possible he'd be the one to kill him (tho i learned more toward martin doing it), but whenever i thought about it i assumed it'd be the usual ceaseless watcher bit, not fucking brutal knife murder. and i LOVE that for jon bc he's never really had it in him to do that and he absolutely deserved to be the one to kill jonah. how visceral it was, bodily tearing into him. that's for sasha. that's for tim. just this astounding fuck you. you don't get to be smote in a blaze of glory with all the power of an entity of fear. you just get stabbed at the top of your shitty tower and left to choke on your blood. beautiful we love to see it.

with millie shapiro making this video about her experience playing charlie graham in hereditary, i think now is the perfect time to ask what the fuck ari aster was thinking by using people with facial deformities for shock value in both of his films

i have yet to see anyone else openly criticize aster's decision in hereditary/midsommar to use facial disfigurement in a macabre way. and the fact that it happened not once, but twice is deeply disturbing and sets the horror genre back a million years

ive been trying to put this in the right words for a few months now, and was hoping someone else would be able to say it more eloquently than me, but after shapiro made that tiktok i couldn't stay quiet

It sounds nice, when you cling to it in pieces. Cut it up like clippings in a scrapbook, rearrange it to make a portrait anew. Divorce details that could sully the thought, mould an image of death worth living for. Because maybe that suffering, that living, the two words at this point warped to synonyms, might be worth it if the end is that.

Short story is that op (who is white) responded very aggressively to polite & reasonable commentary on how “these resources are for people who have x body parts” wrongly suggests that said resources don’t provide anything for trans women or aren’t spaces that trans women can benefit from, in outbursts that to me reveal deliberate transmisogyny & racism. I was also misgendered & accused of violent transphobia I’m assuming based off of the fact that I’m two-spirit so me being trans doesn’t count I guess.

I wouldn’t recommend engaging with this person if you’re tma or nonwhite, even to cyberbully. I encourage you to reblog this.
