The last photos i took before my top surgery, showing off my freshly dyed fiery hair! Was hoping for a subtle pink but my adhd brain got distracted and the dye was in for an hour or so.. here's to two weeks indoors. My nipples are free and so is Brittney!!

Just getting my bearings at castle hill hospital in hull (uk) after surgery 2 or 3 hours ago. I had a bilateral masectomy without nipple grafts. I have some discomfort where the incisions are and a wee bit of a sore throat from the breathing tube but the pain meds seem to be working.

Nurses have been super friendly and attentive. I haven't felt uncomfortable or been misgendered once. . I stayed at the Innkeepers Lodge about a mile away from the hospital last night because i needed to be at the hospital at half seven this morning, and I will be staying at the backpackers hostel in Hull for a few days before I can go back to my partner's house in Leeds to recover properly. Feeling pretty fragile (obviously) and a bit stiff. I am in a room on my own which is nice for the privacy and my covid anxiety. Had a bit of a panic when I came round but the nurses resssured me I was okay and got me to chat about what I'd usually be doing. I have drains and they're pretty empty right now.

If anyone has surgery here soon please bear in mind i got a letter saying to go the ward 16 but when i got there this morning it was deserted, i waited around 15 mins and some nuŕses came along and were very helpful in redireting me to the right place. The ward closed recently and my letter was sent some time ago!

Please feel free to send me questions. I'm going to make a lil video at some point to document this whole process. I want to share my experiences interacting with the trans healthcare system as person with has no fixed abode (i an a traveller and a full time protestor) as there have been a few communication breakdowns, frustrations and raised eyebrows along the way..but nothing bad enough to get in the way of this ! Big love to any of my surgery twins out there, and other folks wjo are also in recovery ♡♡
