Sebastian Vettel speaks about his decision to leave Formula 1 at the end of the season. 

„The questions started quite some time ago already. In the beginning, these questions, it confused me. Then, a snowball started rolling, and it started to push me down. I was able to stop it. But at some point, it was so big that I am now happy to step aside and walk behind it and see where it will roll to in the future.“ (…) His future ins uncertain. He‘s looking forward and he is relieved that it is done. He will probably become a stay-at-home-husband for some time. The main reason is having more time for the family, for the kids. But he can‘t stay on the couch for too long. For that, he is still „much too young“. But he‘s optimistic it will be a good time. He apparently sent Mick a message announcing his retirement. „The biggest step for me was tell the team that is my current home, but also a lot of the people that went with me on my way. It was a lot in that regard, a lot to think about. I think I was really honest. But it‘s always hard when you have to face the truth and express it and sort all your thoughts over the time. The reactions were very positive until now which makes me very happy and proud, but it also required a lot of courage. Time will always go on.“ Today was the best date because he felt like it. The team needs to be able to plan, he wanted to give them time.

Charles: "He (Seb) is definitely a legend of this sport. I spent two years in the same team with Sebastian and I've grown a lot as a driver and also as a person. I went through this path together with him. He has seen me change as a person and there's a special connection I think for that. He's super nice and this is what I'll miss most about Seb. What I miss about Seb, it's just the person he is, a simple and very very nice guy. I hope he still comes to see us in the races next year."
