We at Dream On Records would love to send out a big congratulations to all of our great artists that won or were nominated at the Billboard Music Awards.

So a big congratulations to Mercedes Jones who won Top R&B song and had a couple of other nominations.

And Kurt Hummel has done a great job with all of our artists socialmedia accounts, so we’d like to thank him for Band of Brothers win in Top Social Artist, and of course a big thank you to Brody, Ryder, Mike, Sam and Jake.

Let’s not forget City of Angels and their win for Top Streaming Artist.

After the success on tour with WE ARE YOUNG and SOME NIGHTS, both of these songs will be released and all the proceeds from the songs will go to charity. 

Dream On Records has yet to decide on what charities the proceeds will go to but as soon as a decision has been made we will let you know. And we are more than happy for you to give us some suggestions to who should get some of the money.

Who said boybands had hit the end of the road? Certainly not me as I’m hopping up and down with impatience at the idea of spending time with Mike. We meet his publicist in the entrance of Dream On Records and news comes through that Mike is on his way.

He suddenly appears, surrounded by his makeup artist and a friend. He is smiling and dressed in dance sweatpants, a shirt and he also wears his baseball cap backwards.

He greets me warmly and we get into the car. As we leave the parking lot, the interview begins.

The first question I want to ask is: how are you?

I’m doing pretty good. Yeah. I’m good. Excited to go on tour again, it’s always a great experience.

This is your second world tour, right? How does it feel to be away from home for so long?

It can be hard. It’s really intense but we get to meet our fans and that’s very important to us. We get to travel as well and I love traveling so I have nothing to complain about.

Is there a certain someone who’s going to miss you while you’re gone?

Unfortunately not. It’s not easy to have a stable relationship when you do this job. You need to find that one person who understands that you get busy sometimes.

To all the ladies: Mike Chang is available.

(laughs)

Back to business now. This is your second world, I’m assuming you’re accustomed to it by now?

Sort of. I try to make myself as comfortable as possible between performances and rehearsals. We don’t have much free time but I work out, I sleep (laughs), and I bug the others.

Do you have a pre-show ritual?

Executing a few dances steps before getting on stage. It helps me stay calm.

What about a post-show ritual?

I got to sleep (laughs). Sometimes I hang out but sometimes I go to sleep, I can be pretty boring at times.

What’s your favorite thing about being on stage?

I think it’s the interactions with the fans. It’s stunning. They give so much love and energy, it’s invigorating.

One last question. Do you have something to tell them to help them wait patiently?

All I can say is that it’s going to be huge. They’re going to love it. We have plenty of good things in store for them.

Okay, that’s really the last question. I have the feeling that the photoshoot you’re about to do might help as well?

(laughs) Well, yeah. But I can’t say too much, it’s a surprise.

We finish the interview with Mike telling us how amazing City of Angels are and that he cannot wait to work with them. Unfortunately, it’s soon time to go separate ways as the car stops in front of the building. Mike has a schedule to follow and heads to his photoshoot with his makeup artist in tow. One thing is sure: we cannot wait to see these pictures.

CITY OF ANGELS SECOND ALBUM HAS A RELEASE DATE, IT’S SET TO RELEASE ON FEBRUARY 12TH. THE FIRST SINGLE IS SET TO BE RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 7TH.

City of Angels is at the moment one of, if not, the best selling girl groups in the world. Over the last couple of years they have followed closed after Band of Brothers as the best selling artist at Dream on Records.

The album, titled Broken Wings, will be available for downloading at midnight, you can already pre-order it. If you pre-order the album you will be given a discount code for their next tour.

Broken Wings will have 13 tracks and there will also be a deluxe version of the album released to iTunes and Spotify, and the deluxe version will contain 17 tracks.
