I’ve noticed a lot lately that so many people try to claim that they have depression when they weren’t diagnosed by a mental health professional and have never even been to some type of counseling or psychiatrist. You’re not depressed until you’ve been diagnosed, so stop acting like it and stop claiming to be depressed. I feel like the same people that self diagnose are the same people that get confused and irritated when those who are actually depressed are having an episode. As someone with diagnosed major depressive disorder and other mental health issues, I don’t want to see you post all of those sad black and white tumblr pictures about your “depression” when you can’t understand what I’m going through and when you don’t even have a good understanding of what depression is.
