Session 2: The Moonlit Prince
As the only landmark that looms above the snowy forest, the party quickly sees the tower to which the Fey Prince had been banished to and they make their way towards their destination. However, as they walk they find they are not the only ones in the forest. Lurking in the foliage, a large white winter wolf watches them. Koeia calls out to the wolf to try to get him to come out. Wary, but not hostile, the wolf obliges and approaches, asking the party why they’ve come. The interaction is tense, neither side really wanting to give information to the other, but the party insists they’re just passing through the forest. He in turn tries to insist that he guide them through the forest, but reluctantly backs off after Hilt tells the wolf of his ‘severe bowl issues’ that he must take care of and would rather not subject the winter wolf to (Hilt has very high charisma).
Away from other ears, the party reaches the clearing the tower is in and discuss a plan into the tower. Kit asks the other two what skillsets they have. Koeia produces a flower (Kit does as well in response, though their methods of magic are different)(Kit-Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer, Koeia- Circle of Stars Druid) and Hilt spins his sword around with a flair (without the blade falling off the hilt this time, as it’d done when he introduced himself)(Sword College Bard). With two of them now with flowers in their hands they ask Hilt if he’d like flowers in his hair, which he answers with a very soft “...yes.” And they continue with plan discussion while braiding flowers into Hilt’s hair. With the only windows being rather high up on the tower, the front door unfortunately seems their best bet. The winter wolf from before sees them approach the door and tries again to stop them, but they reassure him that they’re not there to harm the Prince, only to rescue the dragon boy. The wolf seems conflicted, but also a little scared to approach the tower himself, and in the end wishes the party luck and warns them to be careful. It is here that the old wolf finally admits he is the Prince’s familiar, who’s given him the name “Ganymede”, though the dangerous nature of the Prince’s magic lately has kept Ganymede out of the tower.
Opening the doors, the party sees nothing but a black void. Koeia shines her lantern on the open doors of the tower, and she can see within the tower but it’s warp with magic colors swirling. With Kit hiding beneath Hilt’s hat, Hilt takes a step forward and disappears from view. On the other side, he’s met with a chilling sight. In a large, high-ceilinged throne room illuminated by sparkling blue stained glass windows, a tall figure stands looming over the white throne up a shallow flight of stairs. The figure is currently turned away, and behind his large furred cloak all they see is a glint of a knife as it’s driven into a form lying across the throne with a sickening sound. The knife is repeatedly thrusted into the woman on the throne before the Prince finally notices the small party now also in the room. He disappears for a second before reappearing immediately in front of them, pouring over them with intense interest. Excited by the thought of having rare company, he decides to “set up a game” for the party, to show him what they can do.
The environment around them melts away, and is replaced by another wintery landscape. A number of wolves appear before them, and after a round of combat, they discover there are also two white rabbits also hidden in the snow. The strength of these animals seem unusual, and Koeia’s magic goes wild following a spell she’d casted. The unexpected effect is minor, luckily, and with a little more care the party swiftly down the illusory enemies. The snow-covered ground they stand on suddenly cracks like ice and shatters beneath them, and they fall into a black, empty space.

*The party talking about their parental situations*
Koeia: ...-For me it was more like the whole druidic conclave helped raise me. Hilt: Oh, like a cult! Koeia: It isn’t a cult it’s just-- *stops* Oh my god, am I in a cult?!
Later in the conversation-
Hilt: Could your cult kill my father? Koeia: No?! I don’t see why they would!

Session 1: A Fated Gathering
Each of the party members had received strange directions. The form in which these directions came varied. To Koeia, a young Water Genasi, she would receive visions in dreams, seeing glimpses of one destination after another leading to a tall, snowy mountain. To Hilt, a half-elf bard, he seemed to keep bumping into the same mysterious woman who would leave immediately after handing over a piece of parchment with a set of directions.
To Kit, a pixie with strange golden lines across her body, almost like cracks in her skin, she’d known of this meeting place for some time.
All three converge towards the summit of a mountain in Cyrinth, the furthest north any of the three adventurers had been on the material plane. For the entire hike up there’d been nothing but snow and ice, but now the ruins of a castle lay before them. Two torches are lit with strange blue fire on either side of the stone arch that marks the entrance.
Before traversing the archway threshold, however, Koeia shines the light of her lantern ahead of the group, and a figure appears a distance in front of them, waiting on a slightly raised platform in the snow. The eladrin woman looks briefly surprised by the lantern, but her expression soon returns to a smile and she greets the three of them. She explains that her name is Sorala, a member of the Gloaming Court in the Feywild, and she has enlisted the help of the three of them to rescue a young silver dragon boy trapped in a tower of a banished Archfey, The Moonlit Prince. The Moonlit Prince had been magically bounded to a tower on the edges of the Gloaming Court’s domain, after he suddenly fell mad. Somehow, the young Silver Dragon was brought to the Moonlit Prince’s tower, providing the insane prince with a source of powerful magic through the dragon’s dreams.
Normally the fey won’t intervene when one of their kind lures a mortal into the Feywild, but with this new surge in power, they fear the Prince may find some way to break through the barrier that seals him off from the rest of the Feywild. Through their conversation, the party can pick up that there are details Sorala is withholding from them, but they ultimately agree to help rescue the child from the Moonlit Prince. Sorala runs down the basic rules to follow when interacting with other Fey, and offers them a magic piece of chalk, which, when a doorway is drawn will allow them to open a temporary doorway between Sorala and them. Sorala herself explains that she shall remain here in the ruins, as it may be bad if the Moonlit Prince recognizes her as one of his former subjects.
And with that, Sorala continues to explain how the Severed Castle’s gateway, the remaining way to access the part of the Feywild that’s sealed off, works. Four stone beds lie around the circular platform, each with a brazier holding the strange blue faerie fire at its head. Sleep with find them when they lay upon the stone, and when they open their eyes again they’ll be in the Feywild. On the fourth bed, she places a dead bird, and with a creature now on each of the beds Kit, Koeia, and Hilt find themselves lying in a similar, yet distinctly different wintery forest.
