Two more sketched pages for issue 9. Only one more water related page left. I’m having fun drawing all of Kit’s adorable expressions.

Look what just arrived in the mail! I got my copies of Jeff Smith’s Thorn! I’m so excited to read it! I even got extra copies (past the ones shown here) to share with special fellow Bone lovers in my life. If you haven’t read Bone, it was the comic that made me want to make my own, so do yourself a favor and read it (and pickup a copy of Thorn while you’re at it). Thorn is a collection of the comics Jeff Smith made before officially turning the story into the Bone comic I grew up with, but primarily while he was in college for a school paper called The Lantern. So excited!

Finished out the page! For those familiar with the comic, you’ll recognize the return of Kit with a splash! Literally. This page posed a bit of a block for me, but now that it is drawn, I’m quite pleased. Thank you for being patient with me, everyone, and I hope you’re looking forward to this new issue!
Started the next page!

Carrier Con is here at the USS Hornet in Alameda, CA. Yes, we are inside the Hornet, the aircraft carrier for this delightful one day comic con. You can find me in the Artist Alley at table 19, and because they have us crammed in like sardines (which is appropriate), the dragons are on the table today. Join me for this unique con experience!

Here is a snapshot of my upcoming convention calendar, which includes WonderCon over Easter weekend! I also just heard back from Nerdville, a comic con in Watsonville, which I am super excited to be a part of this June 23rd. Watsonville is where I was born, and I hope all my Santa Cruz county people will join me for a day of fun! Now, back to the comic for me. See you soon!

For most of you, today is about pink, red, hearts, and all that mushy stuff. Ruby here embodies all of that, so here is her coloring page. For me, it’s my birthday! Gibson and I will be headed down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to celebrate! Happy my birthday, everyone!

I was updating my con schedule on the Dragon Child website and decided to change the banner image and details on the front welcome page. It’s nice to incorporate a newer image for the banner and include my plush dragons front and center. It may not be spring yet, but it was time for a bit of spring cleaning.
