Please don't share the otter tiktok (babies learning to swim). The otters in the video belong to the Austin Aquarium, which is an unaccredited, for profit buisness that has done super shady things in the past- mistreating animals, having unsafe enclosures, treating the buisness like an exotic petting zoo...

Accredited zoos, aquariums, and shelters are wonderful! This is just not one of them.

They've been involved in several lawsuits due to mistreatment of animals (and for allowing improper interactions to occur between humans/the animals, which caused kids and/or animals to get hurt). The owner of the zoo (Ammon Corvino) was charged in 2013 for illegally trafficking sea animals out of Florida...

They've been putting up cute videos on tiktok to do PR damage control...the otter video is one of them. Don't support the organization by reblogging!

If you want cute otter videos that don't come from a super shady source, the monterey Bay aquarium account on tumblr has some really cute, wholesome content. (Not sponsored, they're just a cool organization).
