Day 2: What if Ash Didn't Steal Misty's Bike?

Since I drew them dancing last year, I decided to switch the theme for Day 2 to a What If scenario. Honestly, it was pretty easy in concept as we know how much Misty immediately cared for Pikachu's wellbeing while giving Ash all the scolding he (more or less) deserved.

I imagine the conversation here is going something like:

Misty: "What in the world did you do to piss off all those Spearow?!"

Ash: "It's a long story! Let's just focus on getting away from them, alright??"

Misty: "Well, whatever you did, I hope you learned your lesson!"

Ash: "Yeah, yeah, I know!"

So I work in an historic home. This home and the lady who lived there have inspired a series of (terrible) romance novels that I am currently reading for the bit.

Tell me why, then, I just spent the better part of an hour (that hour being 12:30 am) trying to figure out who this semi-fictional male lead is only to discover that if we were to take his title at face value that would make him Franz *fucking* Ferdinand?!

Like...lady...cmon. I realize this is fiction, but you...you made him Franz Ferdinand. You were so close and yet so far.

Just discovered that my great-grandmother's surname comes from the Czech word for water (Vodal) and it's just...really all coming together.

The way I was just hit over the head with the fact that even though Percy was the most recently born of the Big 3 kids (because, ya know, ☠️) he's also technically the oldest and that just really tickles my fancy

personally i think there should have been at least one episode where sokka collects aang and zuko and is like, “looks like we’re running low on supplies.  time for a GUYS-ONLY field trip.  three days of hunting and fishing and polishing our swords.  y’know, manly warrior stuff.  (aang, sotto voce: actually sokka i’m a vegetarian as you know–)  you girls have fun sitting around braiding your hair and talking about your crushes” and then the entire episode is just zuko and sokka lying around by a river, plucking blades of grass and staring up at the stars confiding in each other their deepest feelings and most secret insecurities while aang braids flower crowns, and whenever the screen cuts back to katara and toph and suki, they’re fighting and screaming and hacking away at river pirates and evil spirits and legions of assassins and hired mercenaries with swords.  you know, as girls do.

and when the boys finally drag themselves back to camp (they stayed up way too late discussing what true leadership really means and whether or not power always corrupts)  they find suki and toph and katara lounging around with black eyes and fresh bruises and bloodstained weapons and sokka shrieks, “what were you guys DOING while we were gone???”  and karata just shugs innocently and says in her sweetest voice, “oh, you know.  just girly things”

Just gonna say this again now that my feeds are flooded with takes that just prove my point.

ANIMATED 👏 FANTASY 👏 SHOULDN'T 👏 BE 👏 ADAPTED 👏 INTO 👏 LIVE 👏 ACTION

It serves no purpose. The visual version of the story already exists. Making it "live action" is just making it still mostly animated (CGI) and worse.

It doesn't need to exist. It shouldn't exist. Watch cartoons.

I finally got comfortable (aka drunk) enough with my new friends to give them some tidbits of my dating history yesterday.

Now, keep in mind, I've never had an official relationship. No one has ever asked me to be their girlfriend, no one has ever described me as such. I've always thought of myself as the least desirable of the friend group, ya know. The only chronically single one. Blah blah etc.

So imagine my surprise when these people who know nothing about me from before the age of 30 are saying things like "damn your life is a tv show" and "Ashley has all the Rizz, could never be me"

And now I'm just questioning everything I've ever known about myself.

Bonus point: the dude taking point in saying all this is the first guy I was into when I moved to Nashville and has never shown a shred of returned interest. So, yeah, bud, that rizz works out real well 🙄
