Earth pretty much sucked. It was no wonder why humans were so cruel to each other— look at the world they were living in. Global warming, litter in the streets, poverty, minimum wage, and itchy fabric were just a few things Loki detested about Earth. But then there was Y/N.  

 Falling in love was never something Loki planned on. Well, does anyone really plan on falling in love? When it came to falling in love with Y/N, Loki had no choice. Like the waves kissing the sand at the beach, he kept on coming back to her. She was beautiful and rare, a breath of fresh air Loki never wanted to stop feeling in his lungs. The only problem was that Y/N refused the idea of space travel. 

“You want to take me through a what?” Y/N choked on her iced tea. 

 Loki chuckled, amused at Y/N’s faint knowledge of anything to do with the Nine Realms. Perhaps it was all still too new for her. She’d only learned of Loki’s real identity just three months ago. Loki had thought once the reality of dating a god settled in, he could tell her about the bridge. Apparently not. “The Bifrost, my Darling. It is the rainbow bridge that allows me to travel to you from Asgard. I’ve never paid much attention to it, but it’s rather beautiful. Vibrant streaks of the rainbow, iridescent, and glowing. I think you would find it particularly stunning.” 

Nodding, Y/N pretended like she had even an inkling of understanding.“Oh, like me?” 

“No, not quite as beautiful or stunning as you.” 

Y/N’s eyes narrowed. “You always know just what to say, don’t you?” 

“It’s like you forget who I am, darling,” Loki smirked. Y/N finished her iced tea and vehemently stated she would not be traveling through space. She especially wasn’t ready to go to Asgard when Loki added he wanted her to meet his mother, the only other person who truly understood who he was. Who was he, exactly? He wasn’t the God of Mischief to Y/N, he was just Loki, the man who wore suits on the weekends, complained about his brother, and drank nothing but espresso. And Y/N loved him and all his faults, to which there were many— Loki made that very clear. “Perhaps someday, then.”
