you know, I think a lot of problems people face would be solved if they were involved in a healthy community. so many people don’t have strong friends (or any at all), aren’t around multi generations (there is so much value in helping children grow and getting wisdom from elders), don’t have a support system of likeminded individuals, etc etc and you’re just out here basically alone struggling to fend for yourself without the protection and ability to rest on your community. no big families, no religious community, no nothing.
it’s crazy that you can live surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of people and yet be so disconnected from them all. to not know your neighbors names, to go out every day and not see the same face twice unless they work at the grocery store you shop. community is vital to humans. integral! join a club or two or three. meet people, befriend them, embrace the social side of your genetic makeup that has gone ignored for so long, much to the dwindling of your well-being. and when I say community, I mean community. not just having a few friends but like a community. we are not meant to be alone like this.
Imagine an alien sharing a cool human fact they just learned like ”hey guys did you know that the silvery markings on humans actually aren’t true stripes? They’re called stretch marks, they happen when the human is growing fast enough to actually outgrow their skin, which is apparently something that just fucking happens to almost all of them at some point of their life.”
and another one is like ”wait so you’re saying humans don’t have stripes.”
”actually they do, but the stripes are invisible. There’s genetic code that’d give them stripes but they’re just the same colour as the rest of the skin. So the visible stripes are not real stripes and the real stripes are invisible.”
”I swear if you tell me one more weird human thing today I’m beating your ass.”
one of the best feelings is being caught off guard by someone's kindness towards you, especially when you're having a bad day, and you can't stop thinking about it for the next two weeks
imo the most iconic gayle moment is that one where she electrocutes herself using a dog collar to bake an apple pie with the edge of seventeen by fleetwood mac playing in the background
I mean on the one hand, yes, shipping spongebob characters is certifiably absurd and people who do it do not deserve rights but on the OTHER hand if you took Spongebob and Squidward's personalities and dropped them into, say, a pair of anime girls from a gacha game or two white guys from a teen drama everyone would be like "oh of COURSE this is a big ship"
life really is just like. you meet people you love them and then you lose them and you never see them again. and it's inevitable and it happens to everyone and there's nothing you can do about it
