DSMP Writing Prompt | New Year New You
Wilbur never hated the holidays, it's just that he barely remembers them, each year without fail.
He'd celebrate Christmas with a good movie and a drink, he would fall asleep and wake up on January 1st, his head akin to a watermelon with hundreds of rubber bands crushing it.
Then the rest of the year would follow, usually spent alone as his family had fallen apart when he was little. That was, until he woke up to a blonde haired kid, claiming to be his younger brother.
Tommy was nice, despite his incredible gift of being annoying at all times, and his relentless delusion that they were family.
In trying to figure out where Tommy actually belongs, Wilbur finds out that it's he who doesn't belong. He never remembers the holidays, not because he'd get black out drunk, but because he never actually made it past Christmas. Somehow he woke up in a different, yet mostly similar world to his own each time.
Except now, he had a brother and a year to figure out how to stop the cycle of change and celebrate those goddamn holidays.

DSMP Writing Prompt | The Dreamhoppers
Wilbur and Tommy are two young adults who don’t know each other, that is, until one night their dreams are linked through a supernatural event. The boys don’t know each other in real life, but in their dreams they start going on adventures together, completely under the impression that the other person is merely a figment of their imagination.
That changes when they meet in person one day, where they are awestruck and a little apprehensive to talk about their shared dreams. Over time they grow closer, their dream ventures getting bigger and more epic.
It seemed like a friendship, or even brotherhood, that was meant to be. For what reason? They’re about to find out when they realize that their dreams start turning to nightmares, and they’re not quite alone there either..

DSMP Writing Prompt | Disparate Times & Desparate Measures
It's 1982 and Tommy wakes up one day to find a handwritten note in his letterbox. A warning to stay away from a certain house at the edge of town, near the woods. Unsure who sent it, as it even lacked a stamp to begin with, Tommy packs his things and drives his bike to the given address, surely nobody can tell him what to do, right?
It's 2022, Wilbur wakes up to the sound of his alarm clock, mail thrown in his face by his more-often-than-not grumpy landlord. One crudely handwritten note draws his attention, as the cry for help urges him to visit a certain address near the edge of the city, by the abandoned car park.
The home, seemingly abandoned, has guests for the first time in many years.
After settling the unusual confrontations, they realise the note Wilbur got appeared to be written in Tommy's handwriting. What was most unsettling was the fact that it was dated 1982.
Something would happen soon, something that bound their fates together forever and this house would hold the key to it all.

DSMP Writing Prompt | Groundhog Day
Tommy finds himself experiencing a rather annoying time loop, one without a specific duration (the longest one so far lasted a month, the shortest only an incredibly annoying day), but each time he inevitably dies (in often embarrassing ways) one way or another and ends up at the start of the loop. This, however horrific it already is, would have been his only concern were it not for the dreadful murder he somehow seems to be a witness of each time it takes place.
Getting to know the victim, Wilbur, he grows attached and decides to attempt to prevent his recurring murder. Over time Wilbur grows to believe Tommy and his odd predicament, so they work together to end the loop once and for all..

DSMP Writing Prompt | Dimension Door
TLDR: Tommy walks into another dimension or universe that is nearly identical to his own whenever he goes through a door. For many years the differences weren't noticeable, until one day they are.
---
Tommy was 17 when he noticed the first oddity. It was silly, honestly, he shouldn't even have thought about it twice, but when Wilbur mentioned his favourite colour being "green", Tommy was convinced he was messing with him. After persistent prodding, Wilbur got annoyed though, like, genuinely so. It wasn't a joke. Sure, people's favourite colours change all the fucking time, but the way Wilbur insisted it had always been green and that Tommy was being a fucking twat about it, it just rubbed Tommy the wrong way. Something was off. Way off.
That's when he started noticing it more and more. It was always the little things; the way a door knob suddenly felt wrong when turning it, the sound of the birds outside of his room were different, even his foster mother's eyes looked back at him in a different colour.
The straw that broke the camel's back came in the shape of a person. A tall, dark haired guy that claimed to be Wilbur. Except it wasn't Wilbur, it wasn't even close. Yeah, he was wearing the same yel- green sweater that was Wilbur's favourite, but he looked entirely different. Heartbroken to see his best friend, no, basically his brother, replaced like this, Tommy decided to figure out what the fuck was happening.
Over time, alongside his friends (in many variations), Tommy pieced together that it had to do with the doors he stepped through on a daily basis. Great, now how the fuck does he go home? And what or where even was his home?
Did Wilbur miss him there?

DSMP Writing Prompt | Ghost Friends Forever
TLDR; Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo are teenage ghost hunters who come across Wilbur's spirit, who they need to help reunite with his body to save him.
---
It's somewhere in the early 1980s and Tommy is a teenager with a rather unique hobby he puts a lot of time in between school hours.
Preferring the name "ghost hunter", Tommy, along with his two friends, Tubbo and Ranboo, responds to every and any call (if any at all) they get to investigate the paranormal. Usually their hi-tech equipment only catches white noise and dark shadows cast by a local raccoon trying to get a snack from a dumpster, but one night their investigations run a different course.
After getting a distress call for help from a rather young sounding man, they hurry to the address they were given, only to find it empty and abandoned for years. Tommy feels, for the first time, an actual presence and decides for the three of them to set up their gear and see what gives. Tubbo and Ranboo, albeit a little skeptical at first, go along with it.
It's then that they come into contact with a ghost named Wilbur, who pleads for them to help him out. Apparently he'd meddled with things he shouldn't have, and his body and spirit have been separated.
It is up to Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo to reunite the two and save Wilbur.

DSMP Writing Prompt | Blessing and a Curse
TLDR; Tommy is blessed/cursed with the ability to bless people upon touching them. Though each blessing has to be paired with a curse of equal value for another person, making it a decision that isn't to be taken lightly. With this power comes responsibility, but also those who wish to abuse it.
---
In an ordinary world where Tommy is a high school student who enjoys sharing a laugh with his friends and classmates, Ranboo and Tubbo, something completely out of the ordinary is about to take place.
It starts with the dreams, maybe borderline nightmares, that plague Tommy every night for several weeks on end. They tell him to go somewhere in the nearby woods, the same large oak tree lined in white by the sharp lightning during the storm that always roars in the dream. The dreams would mostly remain the same, until his 18th birthday starts closing in and they get more and more intense, urging him to go to the woods, pleading almost.
As if it was destined to be, Tubbo and Ranboo surprise him with a birthday party in the woods, where Tommy encounters the same tree from his dreams. When falling through a hole in it, he encounters a hooded figure, telling him it's his turn now to carry the blessing and the curse. Explaining that Tommy can give people blessings, but has to keep the balance by cursing someone else. Only through touch is it possible to do so, as handing out these magical abilities is a personal matter. Upon returning, it appears Tommy has merely passed out in the woods, after which the trio of friends heads home.
The dreams stop, but Tommy wonders whether what he saw was real or not. Explaining it to his friends, Ranboo and Tubbo frown at first, but choose to believe Tommy and encourage him to try it out by starting small.
And so, Tommy starts helping out where he can, blessing those he thinks that deserve it, whilst cursing those he deems bad. Though with a power like this, someone picks up on the odd changes around town and decides to investigate. Soon enough, several figures start breathing down Tommy's neck, all for reasons of their own.
Can Tommy keep his ability secret? Will he make the biggest mistake of his life only to face the consequences? Well hey, who knows.

DSMP Writing Prompt | Even Gods need to rest
TLDR; Philza and Kristin are the God and Goddess of the dead and death. Tommy, Wilbur and Technoblade are their children, sent to investigate the ongoing war on earth and how to end it. They find out another God's (Dream XD) child, Dream, was sent there also, only to be the one that started the war. They collide, epically so.
---
Philza and Kristin, the God of the dead and Goddess of death, have existed for eons making sure the souls of the dead find their place in the afterlife. However, when the overworld suffers from a great calamity in the form of an all out war, they are overwhelmed with work and decide to send their sons to check things out on earth.
Tommy, Wilbur and Technoblade are sent out on their first mission, to disguise themselves as humans and see what is causing the war and whether they can do anything about it. Wilbur is set to be the new God of knowledge, wisdom and arts, whilst Technoblade is to be the new God of war and justice. Tommy, however, hasn't been assigned a role as soon-to-be deity yet, so this mission on earth is a very important deciding factor in his fate.
The three deities travel to earth and find themselves in the middle of utter chaos, when they find out that another God, Dream XD, has also sent his child to earth, only to cause the war instead of end it. Dream, the deity of mischief, deception and destruction wreaks havoc and won't stop until he has done what he came to do.
The Gods clash, and decide the fate of the overworld as Tommy finally figures out what his Godhood will be based upon.

DSMP Writing Prompt | Inspired by Roman and Greek mythology #3
TLDR; Inspired by the myth about Narcissus and Echo, where Tommy takes the role of Narcissus and Wilbur that of Echo, except with a twist.
---
Tommy, a golden haired teenager, moves in with his new foster mum Puffy, who encourages him to meet new people in the small town. When, with much chagrin, he explores the town, he notices a lot of its inhabitants seem interested in him, maybe a little too much so. They stare at him oddly and start asking him all kinds of questions as to how long he's lived here, whether he needed a tour, or even new friends and so on.
A little unsettled by the insisting people, Tommy heads out towards the nearby woods, where he comes across a guy living there in a rather cosy cabin. Before he turns away, Tommy notices that the guy - Wilbur, apparently - behaves normally, unlike the rest of town.
When trying to introduce himself, it quickly becomes apparent Wilbur can only talk using the words that are spoken to him, which Tommy deems hilarious at first, but finds to be sad later on. The two bond over their weird experiences ever since they arrived, and come to learn that everyone in the town has a strange affliction - or maybe even curse - of their own.
What's causing all the oddities and will they be able to leave town ever again? Well? Will they?

DSMP Writing Prompt | Crimeboys vs the briefcase
TLDR; Wilbur meets Tommy, who has a mysterious briefcase permanently attached to him by a set of handcuffs. Not even Tommy knows what is inside of it or how it got there, so they decide to figure it out together.
---
Wilbur spends his days working at a local music store, hoping to save up enough money to move to LA and start his music career. His usually gloomy and repetitive days turn into ones of intrigue, mystery and a whole lot of confusion when one rainy morning a blonde kid walks in with a black briefcase linked to his wrist by a set of handcuffs.
Wilbur asks the boy, who introduces himself as Tommy, why he is here and what's up with the briefcase. Tommy claims to not know what's in it and vaguely dodges a lot of the other questions thrown at him. He does want a cool walkman as his old one broke.
Over time, Wilbur comes to actually enjoy the company of Tommy, who just ends up hanging out at the music store a lot. Not once does Wilbur press Tommy about the briefcase, even when weeks later it is still attached to the boy.
Eventually he learns that Tommy legitimately doesn't know what's in it, and on top of that he doesn't even know how it got on his wrist, so they decide to figure out the mystery together.

DSMP Writing Prompt | Crimeboys brothers AU
TLDR: In a world where promises are universal law, Tommy and Wilbur are new step brothers and they don't like each other very much, but one day, Tommy makes a promise so that they'll try to become the best brothers ever. Chaos ensues.
---
Wilbur lives with his dad, Philza, as he's trying to make things work with his music, but isn't having that much success. One day, Philza introduces the idea of taking in a foster kid, as he had done the same for Wilbur when he was younger and he found it to be a very fulfilling thing to do. Wilbur protests this, but can't help admire his love and efforts, so he figures he'd try and see what gives.
In comes Tommy, an energetic teenager who hasn't had a lot of luck in the foster system, and Philza is immediately sold on the idea of taking him in. Wilbur, on the other hand, not so much.
He's loud, annoying and won't leave him alone, but Tommy doesn't seem to pick up the signs. As Philza breaks up a fight, Tommy does the unthinkable and promises him that Wilbur and he will do their best to become great brothers.
In a world where promises are more like a pact formed by the universe, Tommy has sealed their fate by doing so: Wilbur had no choice but to make this brother thing work, and goddamn it they would succeed.

Dream SMP Writing Prompt | The Missing Town - Crimeboys au
Everything had been perfectly fine, Tommy had his temporary job as a cashier at the local store, and Wilbur spent most of his time playing his music at whichever gig he could get.
The two of them had been living together for a few years now in a small town, away from the chaotic urban lifestyle they both despised.
Rituals and habits were soon broken by the fact that everyone else in the town had vanished, disappeared into thin air seemingly over night. Leaving Wilbur and Tommy alone in the town.
Things felt off, though, like dust particles not quite settling, or air feeling just a little too dense at times. Rays of light would break through glass, but it was all wrong.
Deciding to not just sit idly, Wilbur and Tommy investigated the case of the missing town. Was it the rest of the town that had disappeared, or had they themselves? And if so, where were they?

DSMP Writing Prompt | Locke and Key AU
Phil had happily adopted his three sons, Techno, Wilbur and Tommy, but above all, he wanted to give them a fresh start in life. So, he'd decided they'd move to a new place, a wonderfully rustic mansion, surrounded by nature.
Each of the three kids dealt with the move in their own way, but generally seemed to appreciate each other's company above anything else. Wilbur and Tommy would often tease each other, where Techno could be found in the mansion's library getting lost in yet another greek myth.
When the family finally had settled and somewhat gotten used to the place, Tommy found a rather odd key underneath a layer of dust. It wouldn't fit on any of the doors or cupboards, so Phil let him keep it.
Though soon enough, Tommy found more keys and would learn about their varying magical abilities. This was amazing at first, but unfortunately with great magical powers, came someone sinister who wanted to have them for themselves..

DSMP Writing Prompt | Crimeboys Mirror AU
Tommy lived a fairly normal life, disliking school, spending time with Tubbo after school, playing video games and much more. Though, one day he'd noticed the strangest thing that would change the world as he knew it.
His reflection in the mirror moved.
Well, of course it would normally move when he did, except this time it had done so when he was stood perfectly still.
Even stranger, his reflection, now broken from their perfect synchronisation, looked back at him in shock too.
He'd known in his gut that something was off before this moment, the days had gone on, and Tommy had tried to ignore the odd delay in his reflection, but once the sync was completely off, the reflection sighed and introduced himself as Wilbur.
Over time, the two became unlikely friends, with Wilbur looking more and more distinct from Tommy. Both of them agreed to keep this strange occurance to themselves, but how long would that last?
Slowly but surely, they discover the truth of the mirror dimension and whether or not one of them was the true "original".

DSMP Writing Prompt | Inspired by Roman and Greek mythology #1
Ranboo was a time traveler destined to write down some of the greatest stories throughout history. He found himself fascinated with the myths that people claimed may or may not have happened.
Traveling along certain points in the timeline, he came across all kinds of characters, though only a few really stuck with him. One of these characters was Tommy, throughout history better known as Theseus, who had learned about his fate of being sent to Dream's underground maze-like caverns that housed a great and terrifying creature: The Warden. A creature that had gnawing teeth protruding from its stomach mouth. The beast was blind, though heard your every step. Nobody had ever returned from the maze before.
Ranboo originally followed Tommy alongside his adventure in preparing to beat this beast, but soon found himself actively being sucked in the journey, fighting alongside Tommy and his companions. They received the aid of Tommy's father, Phil and would be accompanied by his brothers Techno and Wilbur., both warriors and with keen mind.
Along the way, they came across the architect of the cavernous maze, Sam. He claimed to be locked up in his own maze, as Dream did not want him to spill the secret of the maze to anyone else.
It was up to Ranboo to write about this journey and perhaps find out whether or not Tommy, Techno and Wilbur would survive The Warden and figure out the secret of the maze.
