"I have depression. Most of the time, that means I have a small, quiet sadness living inside me that simply Exists and Is, no matter what. That's not always a bad thing. Sometimes it helps me to empathize. Sometimes it helps me to feel. Sometimes it helps me to care. It's only when the small, quiet sadness becomes a monster that it's dangerous."

Reblog this post if you are a writeblr. If you post about your WIPs and/or share writing advice, then this post is for you! I can't promise I'll follow you, but I'll definitely check out your blog!
Feel free to drop a little info about yourself in the reblog!

My brain has decided that no, you are not writing until you clean your room. Feels kinda stupid, ngl, my room has been A Depression Nest TM for ages now, and I don't plan on cleaning it anytime soon.

A, C, X, and Z for the get to the writer ask game!!
A - Does writing energize or exhaust you?
It definitely exhausts me! I think primarily in concepts, so putting my thoughts into words that make sense is so tiring, and sometimes frustrating when what I see in my head is definitely not what the words are showing. I love writing anyway though, haha.
C - Do you use a real name or a pseud?
For my writing, my penname is Lane Beck. I think I’ve probably thrown my real name on tumblr somewhere, but my tumblr friends lovingly refer to me as Milkshake, and I love it.
X - What inspires you as a writer?
Definitely reading! Despite the fact that I’m not good at words, the beauty of them never ceases to astound me, and when someone utilizes those words and weaves them into a masterpiece, it makes me want to do it, too.
Z - What made you decide to write your story?
I have no idea! I often come up with things that would be cool to have a book about, and then I’m like “Okay, so now I need to make this make sense.” So I’m working on it, and maybe it’ll eventually turn into something tolerable, haha.

Milkshake!! Hello! I'm just coming by to check on you and ask you how you're doing! How is your Sunday (or Easter if you celebrate)? I hope you are well!
Zofija, hi!! Sorry I didn’t see this earlier. My Easter was kind of a lazy day which was nice. I’m still super tired and burnt out and just sick of school, but other than that, I’m okay! Thanks so much for checking in, you are so sweet!

Sometimes, you just gotta be self-indulgent with your writing, even if other people say it’s “cliche” or “overused”.
Write that masquerade ball with the lush gowns and the breathtaking stranger with the tempting smile peeking out from a trickster’s mask. Even if people say it’s been done a thousand times before and they don’t want to read it.
Write it because you like it
Write that happy ending that is so sweet, it’ll rot your teeth right out of your head. Even if people say happy endings that sweet aren’t realistic or whatever
Write it because you like it.
Write that heart-wrenching death scene just so you can write something decadently comforting afterward. Even if people complain that death scenes are only for the DramaTM.
Write it because you like it.

I know you’ ve already did this, but...
if you get this, answer with 3 random facts about yourself (or your book/oc) and send it to the last 7 blogs in your notifications, anonymously or not!
YAY ANOTHER ONE. I love this so much.
I’m learning ASL and I desperately want to become fluent. I’d love to be trained as a translator, even though I want to be a nurse.
I adore candles, but I usually have to make them because scented ones from the store give me headaches.
I love origami and if you give me a square of paper, it’s probably gonna be some sort of creature within a few minutes.

Actually, to be kind to all the people I sent this, I’mma find random other mutuals to ask instead. So OtHeR people can get dragged into the game. *more evil laughter*

Yay, another one! These are fun. And I’m pretty sure @chocolatehouse is in my last 7 notifications again, so this is gonna go back and forth and forth and back and it’ll be great. *evil laughter*
If for some reason I don’t want coffee (gasp!) then apple juice or apple cider is my go-to drink.
I am constantly writing letters. I have one person who I consistently write letters to, one person who I write letters to but keep in a notebook where they can’t find them, and then I randomly write letters to no-one at all. Letters are my favourite and if you write me a letter I will literally be so excited.
I have no idea what my love language is but I suspect that it is receiving gifts, and that makes me feel selfish and narcissistic ahaha.
