This might be a bit off topic, but I find it especially compelling that The Disc world is a world that literally would not exist without magic. Yet it's made clear time and time again that magic isn't something that should be relied upon in people's daily lives. The most effective form of 'magic' is - usually- caring about other people.

Discworld is the only fantasy setting I know of that opens with The Magic Is Going Away and everyone is just kind of okay with it. Like “Welp, got to move with the times, can’t run a condom factory when there’s elves all over the place”

Dannymay 2024 Prompt Poll

Welcome back for another year! We've been running a bit late this time around but the poll is here, and so is your chance to submit your theme ideas for this year's Dannymay! It's time to get creative! This poll is now open and will close at the end of day Sunday, April 14th.

For those who don't know, Dannymay is a spin-off from the longstanding Phanniemay prompt challenge where artists, writers, and creatives alike try to challenge themselves to complete as many prompts in May as they can. Whether you just complete one day or the whole calendar, that is up to you!

Like previous years, we are looking for both general prompts (ex: blizzard, temper) as well as AUs/HCs for our AU Mondays (ex: fantasy AU). You can find a list of a ton of AUs/HCs here.

Like usual, we will NOT be repeating prompts from the most recent Dannymay Calendar. This includes prompts for AU Monday. You can find the Dannymay 2023 Calendar here for reference.

Ok this one I tried branching out and adding a story-ish element of the Staff of Time changing its chosen wielder into the Master of Time.
