Cleo Alora made her grand entrance on 01.13.2023. My Friday the 13th baby. Born at 38 weeks 5 days gestation.

I went into labor on my own and had a successful VBAC.

Today is my second official day of maternity leave and I am already feeling “off.” Having been blessed with a normal “9-5″ schedule for the last year and a half, it feels weird deviating from living life with a fairly strict routine. I figured if I kept myself busy, I wouldn’t get this way, but Jordan and I have been busting ass non-stop trying to get everything ready for the baby. There has been no shortage of things to do.

We finished painting the room last night and today we rented a carpet cleaner to shampoo the carpets once he returns from getting one of the cars smogged. Once we finish with the carpets, we are going to make a trip to IKEA and start putting the room together. Baby clothes/blankets/etc still need to be washed. Calliope needs new bedding and furniture and is growing like a weed. She likely needs a new wardrobe as well.

We will probably start installing the carseat bases in each of our cars either today or tomorrow so that all we have to do is click the seat in if baby decides to make their appearance early. 

We are also finalizing the last of our shopping for baby necessities. I like how Amazon offers a 15% registry completion discount, and plan on taking advantage of that. Planning on buying a convertible car seat for when the baby grows out of the one that came with our travel system, more bottles, baby utensils, perhaps wipes and some more cloth diapers. I have most of Calliope’s diapering stuff from almost a decade ago, but I do want to buy a few new ones for this baby. 

Tomorrow afternoon is my 36 week appointment. We are in the final stretch of the race.
