Drag Race Season 12 update
Hello everyone!
I did gain a little bit of a following on here (not much but still), and tumblr is basically dead since the nsfw ban, but I thought I’d post this anyway.
I won’t be watching drag race this year, or doing anymore edgic charts. Drag race has become a show that’s so predictable for me, it’s obvious to me that the producers have such a heavy hand in who stays and who goes, and you can practically tell who the winner will be based off their style alone. It just no longer brings me joy, it feels more like a chore.
You can disagree with me, and that’s ok! I’m glad that there are still so many people who enjoy drag race and who find it exciting and more and more people discover it every year. I’m happy that it can bring others the joy it once brought me! But for now, that has been a bit burnt out.
I will be back for AS5 to see my favorite queens, and future seasons are TBD, but for now, season 12 will not be happening for me.

Wow this is late I’m so sorry! I just graduated on Saturday and I’ve been busy moving home since then, so I’ve been a bit busy!
Anyway! This year’s finale was slightly different, it took a lot of time to focus on the final four. It was like a weird, positive Maury kind of introduction? It was very confusing. I personally didn’t like it, it felt like they were just trying to fill the hour and a half time slot. Also like, we already knew who the constants were and a lot about them? I don’t see why we needed more? Oh well.
I said last week that I thought Brooke would win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Yvie did, and I still stand by that. I’m not surprised Yvie won, it was pretty even between the two through out the whole season, so the win seems justified and fair.
Drag race has especially focused on finding new and different queens, queens who are unique and unlike any other to find for their winners. I think Yvie fits that perfectly. Brooke is a great queen, and she IS different but still to similar to other queens. Yvie is SO different from any other queen we’ve seen before, and I think that’s what pushed her to the win.
Apart from that this season was SO boring. There were no stand out characters apart from BASICALLY 3 out of the top 4, (yvie, brooke, and silky) and Nina and Vanjie got bit of screen time too. With 15 contestants, that fairs well for the 5 who run the show, but leaves a lot of other constants with just, nearly nothing, and it gets really old and boring. I wish that there would have been a little bit more done with the personalities on the show, because a lot of them were great (like Shuga, Plastique, Scarlet). It’s seriously made me question if I still watch drag race because I enjoy it, or if I watch it because I feel like I need to to keep up with the gay community. I’ll keep watching All Stars, and I have a friend who’s been trying to get on the show so I’ll hope to watch it when she does. But apart from that I don’t know what this show’s future holds.
Again, sorry for the late update. I’ve been busy. Feel free to message me if you want to hear my personal opinions a part from my professional ones!

This episode was pretty typical of a “pre finale”. All of the contestants got a good edit, and it makes it appear as if the race to the finish is an even one, like they all have a good chance. As usual, I listed the top 4 in my winners picks in order of who I think has the best chances to win.
Silky - there’s no way. She was the obvious villain this season (kinda like an Alexis Michelle on steroids, no one really likes her and shes annoying and she just does not understand why).
A’Keria - kinda the same as Silky? But at least the bitch was polished.
Yvie - I don’t think Yvie is going to win, however, that being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if she did. She had a very interesting story through out the entire season, and you saw here grow and mature and come into herself as a fully rounded drag queen. Plus, she’s different, and she’s something the show has NEVER seen before. Yes, we had Sasha win, but her drag of “different” was on a completely different scale than Yvie’s is.
Brooke - she has the best chance. She was polished from the start, she’s grown through out the season, we’ve seen a lot of her personality, and she’s won the most challenges. I’d place my bets on her.

Oof! I... LOVED this episode!! There was so much drama and so much tension!! Amazing!!!
It really is Brooke Lynn’s game to lose at this point. She has pretty much secured her position in the bag as winner. If I could, I would compare Brooke and Yvie to Shea and Sasha in season 9. Shea had the most wins, she turned it out every single time and was consistently at the top of the game, but the producers decided she wasn’t anything “new”, so Sasha won, but it was still a very well deserved win. It’s the same thing. Brooke is clean, polished, kicking ass the whole competition, but it really is up to the producers on if they decide it’s good enough or not. Yvie has been getting a GREAT edit, and has obviously been doing well in the competition as well. I think Brooke will win, but I can see Yvie winning as well.
Silky has also become the main villain of the season, and it seems as if A’Keria is her side kick. Everything they do is just to call people out and cause drama, and it’s been this way for A WHILE. I’m really not sure what this means for the final four lipsync.
On a personal note, Nina deserved to stay, but I know the producers told Ru to keep Silky for drama.

This episode was good I thought! Once again, I didn’t agree with the bottom two, but that’s just how it be!
A’Keria - like I said last week, she’s getting the pageant girl edit. That hasn’t changed that much. I think she’ll make the top five, but honestly I feel like she’s going to go home before the top 4.
Brooke - this week Brooke secured her spot to win even more. She always has this story in every episode of “can she do it? oh shit she did!” kind of thing. You’re rooting for her to succeed, and then you’re happy for her once she does. It’s setting her up for the huge win at the end.
Nina - I’m pretty sure I said Nina would be in the top 4, and this week really just secured my suspicions. She’s getting a good story, similar to Brooke’s but since she doesn’t always succeed, you always end up wanting a little bit more from her. It shows that she does well, but she... still isn’t quite ready for the win.
Silky - LMAO she does well but she won’t win. There’s just no personality to her, she’s always over the top. Even when she’s BARELY IN THE EPISODE she’s over the top.
Vanjie - I’m sad to say it, I think Vanjie is going to go home next week. These past few weeks have been setting her up for the downward part of her arc. She started growing, we saw her peak, and now we saw her go down a bit. I honestly think she’s next.
Yvie - yvie hasn’t been at the front of the edit the past two weeks like she has been in previous weeks, which makes me think that she’s not going to win. I’m still not ready to let go of the idea, but I’m not sold on it anymore. I obviously think she’ll make the top 4, but right now I don’t see her winning.
Shuga - Shuga never really got a strong edit, which is surprising considering how far she went. First of all, I don’t think she deserved to be in the bottom. She did well, and just because she was the worst in her group doesn’t mean she was worse than half the girls in the other group. I think she was put in the bottom two this week because the producers didn’t know what else to do with her edit, and they just needed to find an excuse to get rid of her to be honest.

I think it’s time to appropriately dissect all of these girls! They each have enough of a cohesive edit where I can actually speak about them.
A’Keria - A’Keria is getting the “pageant girl” edit. She gets along with all of the girls just fine, but it’s obvious she’s not really bonding with anyone and everyone is also her “enemy”. Her edit is very focused on being better than the other girls, and wanting to show her shot. I COULD see her making top 4, but she’s not gunna win.
Brooke - she’s getting the obvious winner edit. You see her struggles, you see her grow, you just see everything complete about her. There’s nothing about her to question.
Nina - Nina is getting a very positive edit? I’m not sure she’ll make top 4 anymore, but I do think she’ll get Miss Congeniality.
Shuga - she’s gunna go next week. She’s not really doing that much, so I’m surprised she’s even made it this far.
Silky - I’m not sure what kind of edit Silky is getting. She’s kinda the villain, but like kinda not? She’s just a very over the top personality. I think she’ll make top 4, and the producers are gunna milk her feud with Yvie as much as they can.
Vanjie - vanjie is getting a VERY similar edit to Shangela in season 3. You can tell she’s grown, but she hasn’t grown like as much as she should. I don’t think she’ll make top 4, but like, she’ll get that edit where she still looks good.
Yvie - Yvie has a very CREATIVE edit. It reminds me a lot of Sharron Needles, I don’t think that we’ve seen anything like Yvie since Sharron Needles. The only difference is even though Sharron was also a bit of a bitch, she was still edited in a positive light. That’s why I moved Yvie down this week. I’m getting less and less sure that she’ll win, and I think she’ll just be like a favorite.
Plastique - she got the typical “no personality” edit. or the “young and fake” edit. I think it’s kinda sad, because she turns out really great looks, and she’s not like a bad actress or anything, overall I think she’s a good drag queen. But! She’s quiet and there’s just not much to do with that. She’s also younger and I personally think she was trying too hard to be noticed in the ways she can, which is easy to edit to make it look like she’s fake. This episode she was constantly being read for “I don’t know why you’re still here” and that made me feel really bad for her. I think she has potential, but this just wasn’t the right season for her.

Snatch game wasn’t as AMAZING as it has been, but it was better than a few previous seasons! There’s a theory that whoever sits in the top left corner always wins snatch game, and I thought it was funny that it was proven again with Silky winning this episode!
Top 4 is going Brooke, Nina, Silky, and Yvie. If the producers want Yvie to win, they’ll find a way to sabatoge Brooke’s lipsync. That’s the tea sis. But honestly, it really is between Brooke and Yvie at this point, I can’t seem to tell a difference and I think that’s the point.
Straight forward, we’re getting closer and closer each week, maybe I’ll do a more in depth analysis tomorrow, but until then sisters!

I just wanna say that I am VERY happy that Plastique FINALLY got what she deserves in her edit. She’s been one of my favorites this competition, and I felt like this was her little rudemption episode. I still don’t think she’ll make top 4, but this episode help.
I struggle keeping Silky in my winners picks, the only reason I did keep her is because she hasn’t given me a reason yet to boot her out, but I’m not sure she’ll win. Here’s my prediction. Brooke will win if the producers want a polished queen, Yvie will win if they want a progressive queen. Right now, I can’t see an outlook, but oh well.
I also wanna say to any doubters all there, the final 4 Lipsync for the Crown, is just another way of the producers making the show interesting. It obviously doesn’t come down to who does the best performance, it’s about how the editors can make the competitor who is the decided winner look the best. The producers have also been known to sabotage competitors lipsync for the crown so they don’t make it. I don’t know details, but there’s tea on how the producers influenced both Asia’s failure of a lipsync, and Shea’s underwhelming lipsync. So, take that as you will.
See yall next week!

This one was TOUGH. We’re getting to the point in the competition where we’re really starting to weed out the mediocre players.
I have STRONG opinions about some contestants, and if you REALLY wanna know you can message me about them but I’m gunna be CLASSY and keep it PROFESSIONAL in my posts. Yvie was hard, because she had an OTTN edit at the top of the episode up until when the challenge really started getting going, and then I thought maybe it would change to a CPM edit because she talked so much about how she was struggling. Then I realized the talk was ONLY about her disability, and the edit was made to make us the viewers feel bad for her, which is an OTTP edit. Ultimately, I decided to go with OTTM because that felt more appropriate.
I can pretty much confidently say Brooke is gunna win.
Scarlet was VERY difficult to try to put into one cohesive edit, because her edits have kinda been all over the place. I felt a little uneasy giving her a CP edit even, but I didn’t know what else to do to be honest.
Finally, I gave A’Keria a MORN edit because although she won, we really only saw her complain throughout the whole episode, and that says more N to me than a win does.
Yvie is for sure going to be in the top 4, but I’m unsure of her winning chances. I think they are high, but I’d still place my bets on Brooke.
That’s all! Everything else I have to say is very biased :) :) :)

Hi, there was SO MANY PROBLEMS with this episode! Plastique deserved to win, Michelle just hates her, Nina should’ve been in the top, Ra’jah should’ve been in the bottom, Silky did not deserve to be in the bottom, Ariel shouldn’t have even gone home, Shuga only had one really bad look, whatever I was OVER IT!!! Imma keep this post short and sweet because there’s nothing really new.
I added Nina to the winners picks because she’s getting slowly more and more screen time and a consistently better edit. I think she’ll make it to the top four at this rate to be honest. That’s about all. Have a good night everyone stay tuned for more next week

Nothing really special about this episode, but it wasn’t bad either!! It’s like, PAINFULLY obvious who’s gunna be in the top, I feel like I had to be super objective to include a fourth winner’s pick. But like let’s go
I couldn’t justify Plastique anymore. She’s been in the background too long, and even though she was received well in the first few episodes, she would be getting a better edit by now if she was going to be in the top 4, so I just had to take her out of that section.
So as far as my winners picks, it is PAINFULLY obvious Brooke and Yvie are going to be in the top 4. I don’t know if they’ll win, but they’ll obviously be in the top 4. Silky is slowly working her way into that spot, and I think she will be, I have a very strong feeling she’ll be included in the top 4. Scarlet... has been doing well? So I would like to see a few more weeks of her, but as of now there’s a good chance she’ll be top 4.
That’s about all I have to say today tbh. Nothing special about this episode, nothing to go off about.

OOF! Gurl... I am... OVERWHELMED!!!! The... GAGGERY!!! I’m just... oh my god. Gagged gurl. Ok lets dive in
I took A’Keria off the winners picks because now her edit is emerging, and it was NOT HOT. She was getting a pretty neutral edit the past two episodes but still had a positive tone, and I thought that meant good news, but this episode it was CLEAR that it was just not meant to be. Nina and Honey emerged this episode, both for obvious reasons, one of them won the challenge, the other was sent home. I felt a little bad for Honey, but she SUCKED at that lipsync so....
WINNERS PICKS
Plastique - she didn’t do so hot this week, obviously, but I think her edit has been the most consistently positive so far. Please, CALL MY ASS OUT if you disagree, because I’m very worried I’m just favoring her because she’s my favorite, but from the looks of it, things are looking pretty good for her right now. Just like A’Keria, things might change for her next week. We’ll see.
Silky - slowly but surely, growing more as a competitor and as a person. I’m very curious to see where the rest of the season takes her, I can easily see her winning the competition.
Brooke - I was worried about her last week, but I think her edit made up for it this week. So far, she hasn’t given me a reason to NOT think she’ll be in the top 4 (does that make any sense or am I crazy?)
Yvie - she started emerging last week, and she is still going strong this week. I don’t see why the producers would take so much time to focus on her if they didn’t plan on having her go far and go places and do good things. She could easily grow a bit in this competition, possibly even winning.

Another kinda “meh” episode tbh. So let’s go.
I decided to give Scarlet and OTTN edit because I feel like her success in the challenge didn’t really shift her negative attitude. Vanjie is being successful so far, and I’m going to give her one more week to see how she performs before I put her in the winners picks. I ALMOST put vanjie in the winners picks this week, but I didn’t because I didn’t think that any of the current queens needed to be booted. Brooke is still holding onto her record from the first episode, and Silky is staying strong on that “aquaria” edit. Let’s talk about the winners picks
A’Keria - I feel kinda crazy having her in my top spot again this week, but I just feel like I can’t put anyone else there. She wasn’t even in the top the past two episodes and she’s gotten overwhelmingly good edit. Notice the difference between “good” edit and “positive” edit. A’Keria is getting a good edit. Fair screen time, showing her doing well in the competition. I just... I feel like I can’t put anyone else in that place as of now.
Plastique - Plastique is similar to A’Keria in that she’s getting a strangely good edit for her performance so far. She has been in the top both times, which is why she’s in second, because it’s more believable for her to be portrayed as doing well. Anyway! I think that she stands a good chance as of now to be in the top 4
Silky - Same as last week, she got that “aquaria edit”
Brooke - Like I said before, it’s hard to tell who’s going to make the top 4 this early on, and as of right now Brooke just stands a chance because of her winning the first challenge. We’ll see if that lasts to next week though.
UPDATE - I changed Scarlet to OTTM because I felt that was more fitting upon more reflection, I changed Yyvie to CPM because we got to know her morales in a positive and negative light, and I changed Vanjie to MOR because we saw a lot of her but just not that much where we learned more about her

It’s hard to talk about each individual queen because there’s so many of them, so I’m just going to do an overview and then talk about my winners picks. Also I always felt like my charts were blurry, so I’m tryin a new format let me know if it works better.
Also! as a reminder I don’t look at any spoilers, and I’m just trying my best and having a fun time. If you disagree with me, that’s fine! But don’t be a dick about it.
This was a fine first episode. It gave all of the queens enough screen time, and didn’t really appear to favor anyone. That being said, Silky got A LOT of screentime, and almost all the conversation was about her. That’s why a lot of the other queens are UTR or MOR, because it’s like, they were only talking about Silky being annoying. The only queens that really got any kind of development were the ones who were judged on the runway.
Let me explain my winner picks now.
A’Keria Davenport - She’s in my number one spot because I think she received an OVERWHELMING amount of positive feedback for someone who didn’t even win the challenge. It was clear the judges loved her and what she created. I honestly thought she was going to win the challenge, but as soon as she didn’t, I felt it was weird that the editors chose to focus so heavily on her positive critique rather than on Brooke Lynn Hytes positive critiques, because she probably had plenty as well, seeing as how she won the challenge.
Brooke Lynn Hytes - It’s RARE that the queen who wins the first challenge doesn’t make it into the top 4 (or 3 on previous seasons). Plus, like I said, much of the episode focused on Silky, so that’s really kind of the only reason I put brooke here, because I couldn’t focus on many other queens, and the stats are on her side.
Silky Nutmeg Ganache - Honestly, there’s two options for her. Either she’ll be the annoying “villain” in the first half of the season, think Farrah on AS4. Or, she’ll only grow and progress from here. A similar thing happened with Aquaria on Season 10, she was bitchy and a bit full of herself in the first episode, and she changed a lot in the season to the point where she won. I think something VERY similar can happen with Silky here on this season, which is why I put her in the third place slot. But, who knows? Maybe she’ll get sent home in two weeks. It’s hard to tell based off the first episode.
Plastique Tiara - Ok, this one might be a little biased, because I LOVE her. She’s part of the Haus of Edwards, and I LOVE Alyssa Edwards. She looked GORGEOUS in the gown she made. She also received positive critiques for honestly, just having a pretty basic look. She’s one of my favorites so far, but we shall see.

All Stars 4 - FINALE
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about this, shall we?
Double Win? So, last week I said that I’d be happy with either Trinity or Monet winning. Which I am. However. Let’s dig a little deeper.
There’s been a lot of flack in the twitter-verse blaming RuPaul’s Drag Race for racism, with the amount of white queens winning compared to queens of color winning. My PERSONAL stance on this is that it doesn’t always seem as black and white (no pun intended?) as the gay community makes it seem. There’s almost always a fair amount of white queens vs. qoc on the show. The US is about 50% white, and 50% poc, which I think reflects in the show almost every season. Is this really fair? No, I think they could do a better job of representing qoc, but I’m also saying it’s not the worst that it could be. A lot of people also think that all the winners are always white, which also is partially true. In Drag Race, 5 winners have been white, and 5 have been qoc. Again, this could be better. I can definitely think of one maybe two examples where a white contestant won, but it should’ve been a qoc. This is where it seems very black an white. Results. The winners. The representation. However, we also have to look into how well the queens do each season. While diversity is important, so is talent, and any queen can have that regardless of race, hence why they could win. I think that’s where it really comes into play in winners. HOWEVER, if we’re going even deeper, I would say rupaul needs to do better at recgonizing the talent of qoc. Because the reason all the white winners and white queens appear to have so much talent is the praise they get from the judges, which could be white biased and racist. So, I think there’s more to this problem than just the surface of winners, and we should be looking more at that problem than we should at just what race the winner of each season is.
When it comes to All Stars, there is an obvious race problem. White queens are ALWAYS favored by the judges, and by fans. The fact that we have 4 white queens out of 5 winners is ridicilous. Granted, 2 of the seasons there was really only white queens to choose from. Season 1 of all stars, Jujubee was the only qoc (please correct me if I’m wrong), and Jujubee and Raven suffered all season (see the judges biases). And Season 2, Roxxxy was the only qoc and we ALL know she DID NOT even deserve to be in that top 4. Last season there was a chance for so many qoc to do well, and yet the fan favorite white girl won. This season was looking to be the same, hence the back lash.
It was OBVIOUS the producers threw that ending together to avoid backlash. There have been double crowning filmings before, Bianca and Adore, Alaska and Katya, probably others so on so forth. But this year there was no double crowning filmed. It was so sloppily edited together, you could TELL it was a last minute decision. If it wasn’t, there would have been a double crowning filmed in the first place. That’s what upsets me most about this ending. The double crowning wasn’t planned and felt undeserved to the viewers and the two queens who won.
THAT BEING SAID. I’m very happy with the double crowning! I wanted both Monet and Trinity to win, and honestly I thought it was gunna be Monet so I was quite happy to have Trinity get recognition without backlash. (we don’t know that yet, but like, come on, it’s not Trinity’s fault that she’s a fierce queen and all the other winners have been white and so is she). I think from a personal standpoint, the double crowning was deserved. I just wish the producers had thought ahead and also thought so, so that this finale wasn’t as tragically ended how it was. Come on. That was sloppy editing.
Let me know what you think! Please correct me if I got any facts wrong, always trying my best, and I’ll see you in season 11!!

All Stars 4 - Episode 9
Tumblr media
Oof. This episode was rough. Like that acting challenge? Bad. Latrice’s runway? Bad. And the preview? Of course there’s another fucking twist. I’m so mad about it like just pick a fucking format and stick to it!!
The tensions are CLEARLY high in this episode. Trinity feels threatened that she’s not safe in her place. Naomi has a power rush with how well she’s been doing. Latrice is boring. Monique is confident but everyone else doesn’t believe in her. This episode was just... weird. So here’s the main deal. Trinity was painted in a somewhat negative light this episode, but we know it’s because the last elimination SERIOUSLY shook her up. She feels the game has been fair so far and she doesn’t know what to expect now with Manila being gone, more importantly, she doesn’t know what it means for her safety. Monet was being painted in a way where she is just EAGER for that final win. She wants it so badly. I think with THIS edit, right before the final, it puts Monet a little bit ahead of Trinity for the win. Monique is doing so well, and she REALLY got that rudemption arc from when she was on season 10, but I don’t think it puts her in the spot to win. And Naomi got the late season villain edit, so there’s no way she’ll win.
Let’s talk about Latrice. Ru looked SHOCKED, and dare I say, angry, that she was eliminated, but like??? What did she expect??? Latrice has been in the bottom 3 times now and only had one win, Naomi has been in the bottom twice with one win. I just... it made sense to me. The editors did a good job of overall giving Latrice the edit that she still has what it takes to be and All Star (although I personally wasn’t impressed by her overall performance the whole season). And I think we saw growth, but nothing substantial. This is why I gave her a MORP overall edit, because she wasn’t a key part in the series, but she left with an overall good impression.
I’m excited for the final! I’m really ok with either Trinity or Monet winning, and I’ll be happy with either! Which is surprising, usually I’m hardcore I only want one person to win, but I think Trinity, Monet, and Monique are all strong contenders for the crown!! Who do you want to win?

All Stars 4 - Episode 7/8
Tumblr media
I’m not going to do a queen by queen breakdown, I’m just going to dive right into things.
Let’s start with Valentina’s elimination. I think we all saw this coming. She wasn’t doing too hot, I haven’t had her in my winners picks for a while. I think Latrice sending Valentina home was less about “saving Naomi” and more about sending home the weaker of the two. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Naomi is also doing very well in the competition, but she hasn’t been in the bottom near the amount of times that Valentina has. We saw it coming, it was building for a while, no surprise.
Now I want to talk about Manila’s elimination. You’ll notice I lowered her to second place in the winners spot, and that’s because I saw her not possibly winning, maybe an elimination. Obviously the number one spot is who I see winning based off their edit, and Manila’s was slowly dwindling, but it took me a while to notice. Let’s talk about why. Firstly, was her elimination strategy. Most of the time, when queens are deliberating who to send home, it’s edited in a perspective that they are thinking about the other contestants before themselves. As in “this person hasn’t been doing well” or “I think this person needs to be sent home because...”. Manila’s eliminations were almost always edited to make it appear in a perspective she was thinking about herself. “I might send Valentina home because she’s strong competition”, or “Latrice is my best friend, I can’t send her home”. These kinds of eliminations are NEVER received well, a prime example being Alaska choosing to send home Tatianna over Roxxxy because of the white tank top. Alaska chose to send home Tatianna because she was already sent home once before and didn’t believe that Roxxxy deserved to go when she’s been there the whole competition. However, the way it was edited, and the way Alaska spoke told us otherwise. We see a similar pattern in Manila’s eliminations. While I think her Gia elimination was fairly thought out and decided, along with her never happened Valentina elimination, her choice to send Monet home was obviously an emotional one, that was painted in a negative light. This is a contrast to when Detox sent home Alyssa over Roxxxy in AS2. Detox couldn’t send home her best friend, but Alyssa had already gone home once before, and it was edited to appear that she didn’t deserve to be in the top 4. With Manila and Latrice, it was edited to appear obvious that Latrice needed to go home over Monet even though no one wanted to send her home, and she didn’t quite deserve to go home yet. With Monet’s confessionals, it was clear the editors were trying to get you on her side. So when Manila whips out Monet’s lipstick, it doesn’t have the same effect as when Detox sent home Alyssa. It feels unjustified for Monet to go home, unlike how it felt justified for Alyssa to go home. (Don’t get me wrong, I was MAD when Alyssa went home, but the way it was edited tells to viewers to feel otherwise.)
Which brings me to my next point. Manila has been set up to this moment the whole season, and, like good editors, they wanted it to be a shock but not unjustified. With the backstage deliberations, they put a hard emphasis on Latrice fighting for her passion to stay in the competition, where Manila was edited to appear more passive. Even saying “I would be content if I went home tonight.” It’s SO clearly being set up to appear that she doesn’t even want to be there anymore, and she just wants to go home. Granted, not as obviously as Adore on AS2, or Chi Chi on AS3, but you don’t see nearly ANY passion or fight from her to stay. We’ll find out why Naomi sent Manila home next week, maybe it was to take out the strongest competitor, maybe it was because she didn’t see the fight to say in Manila like how the show was edited, but we’ll find out.
Was Manila robbed? No. She’s been doing just as well as three other girls in the competition, she didn’t play the game smart, and she didn’t fight like she needed to. My PERSONAL belief is that on All Stars, you NEED to do the fair elimination, or you will receive backlash. Trixie said it in a confessional, that when she was on All Stars, she could never send home a queen who has been doing well, or who clearly didn’t deserve to go home, because that follows you into the real world and you need to face the repercussions of that. Whether or not Naomi thought she was making the fair choice, she is now dealing with those repercussions, because Latrice obviously did much worse in the challenge. However, we will soon see if she did it out of game play, as in “getting rid of the strongest competitor”, (which I think will reflect VERY badly if that’s her reasoning) or if she did it because she thought it was the most fair (which could ease some of the tension). Either way, this is making for a GREAT all stars seasons. MUCH better than season 3 was.
See ya next week!
